Obtaining accurate and effective information for drug molecules is a crucial and challenging task, which relies on high-quality chemical knowledge. However, chemical knowledge has been accumulated over the past 100 years from various regions, laboratories, and experimental purposes, which contains a lot of noise and inconsistency, leading to the out-of-distribution (OOD) problem. OOD may results in weak robustness and unsatisfied performance. In order to solve OOD learning problem with noise, a novel benchmark: ADMEOOD is proposed, which is a systematic OOD dataset curator and specifically designed for drug property prediction. ADMEOOD screens 27 Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) drug properties from Chembl and relevant literature. This paper explicitly make distinctions between two kinds of OOD data shifts: Noise Shift and Concept Conflict Drift (CCD). Overall, ADME contains 6 domain annotations combined with noise, CCD and no shifts, resulting in 18 different splits in total. ADMEOOD provides performance results on a variety of SOTA OOD models. The results demonstrate a significant difference performance between in-distribution and OOD data. Moreover, Empirical Risk Minimization and other models exhibit distinct trends in different domains and measurement types. The interoperability of heterogeneous networks, including hybrid industrial wired/wireless protocols, is a vital aspect of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) since various industrial protocols have coexisted. Therefore, it is hard to obtain a multiple protocol conversion solution with the flexible configuration. Moreover, the previous works do not adapt to the Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), which is considered as the potential technology of IIoT. To tackle the above problems, we proposed an architecture of the multiple conversion system supporting the conversion of multiple protocols. Then, we proposed a protocol conversion mechanism to improve the flexibility of multiple protocol conversion by separating into data and configuration planes. Moreover, we propose a TSN-compatible frame with dynamic priority mapping algorithm, which adjusts the priority in the VLAN tag by the processing delay. Finally, we develop a hardware module and system supporting multiple protocol conversion, which verify that the proposed architecture could satisfy the flexible conversion requirement through the experiments. © 2022 IEEE.

Human–Robot Coordination control for Sit-to-Stand Assistance in Hemiparetic Patients With Supernumerary Robotic Leg

In light of global aging and prevalent stroke-related hemiplegia, this study addresses challenges in robot-assisted Sit-to-Stand (STS) movements, a daily activity prone to falls. Supernumerary Robotic Legs (SRL) serve as independent support, enhancing stability and limb movement range. Existing coordination control methods lack personalization for STS assistance, requiring solutions for human intent transmission and rapidly optimize coordination control challenges in the non-coupled human-robot system. The proposed human-SRL coordination control algorithm, grounded in personalized SRL-human coupling models, incorporates surface electromyography (sEMG) signals to design an intent-driven variable stiffness impedance control. The inclusion of incremental learning enables rapid optimization of impedance parameters, facilitating real-time adjustments in SRL assistance for adaptive coupling with users. Practical experiments involving both healthy participants and hemiparetic patients validate the algorithm’s effectiveness during STS. The results validate substantial reductions in STS time (39.54%) and muscle activity (28.01%), highlighting the efficacy of the proposed algorithm-controlled SRL support for hemiparetic individuals. Note to Practitioners—To prevent misalignment between the SRL and natural limb movements, which can impose additional strain on the body, this study combines the principles of joint bio-mimicry to develop a personalized human-robot coupling model, and also propose an sEMG-based adaptive impedance control algorithm. Our research fills a gap in the nuanced analysis of robot-assisted support effects on both the affected and unaffected sides of hemiparetic patients, while also possessing the potential for transfer or extension to other types of rehabilitation robotic platforms. In recent years,there are numerous studies on chaotic systems with special equilibrium curves having various shapes such as circle,butterfly,heart and *** paper describes a new 3-D chaotic dynamical system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed chaotic system has two quadratic,two cubic and two quartic nonlinear *** is noted that the proposed chaotic system has a hidden attractor since it has an infinite number of equilibrium *** is also established that the proposed chaotic system exhibits multi-stability with two coexisting chaotic attractors for the same parameter values but differential initial states.A detailed bifurcation analysis with respect to variations in the system parameters is portrayed for the new chaotic system with capsule equilibrium *** have shown MATLAB plots to illustrate the capsule equilibrium curve,phase orbits of the new chaotic system,bifurcation diagrams and *** an engineering application,we have proposed a speech cryptosystem with a numerical algorithm,which is based on our novel 3-D chaotic system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed speech cryptosystem follows its security evolution and implementation on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)*** results show that the proposed encryption system utilizes 33%of the FPGA,while the maximum clock frequency is 178.28 MHz.

CSP-Net: Common Spatial Pattern Empowered Neural Networks for EEG-Based Motor imagery Classification

Electroencephalogram-based motor imagery (MI) classification is an important paradigm of non-invasive brain-computer interfaces. Common spatial pattern (CSP), which exploits different energy distributions on the scalp while performing different MI tasks, is very popular in MI classification. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have also achieved great success, due to their powerful learning capabilities. This paper proposes two CSP-empowered neural networks (CSP-Nets), which integrate knowledge-driven CSP filters with data-driven CNNs to enhance the performance in MI classification. CSP-Net-1 directly adds a CSP layer before a CNN to improve the input discriminability. CSP-Net-2 replaces a convolutional layer in CNN with a CSP layer. The CSP layer parameters in both CSP-Nets are initialized with CSP filters designed from the training data. During training, they can either be kept fixed or optimized using gradient descent. Experiments on four public MI datasets demonstrated that the two CSP-Nets consistently improved over their CNN backbones, in both within-subject and cross-subject classifications. They are particularly useful when the number of training samples is very small. Our work demonstrates the advantage of integrating knowledge-driven traditional machine learning with data-driven deep learning in EEG-based brain-computer interfaces. © 2024, CC BY.

Semi-supervised domain adaptation (SSDA) aims at training a high-performance model for a target domain using few labeled target data, many unlabeled target data, and plenty of auxiliary data from a source domain. Previous works in SSDA mainly focused on learning transferable representations across domains. However, it is difficult to find a feature space where the source and target domains share the same conditional probability distribution. Additionally, there is no flexible and effective strategy extending existing unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) approaches to SSDA settings. In order to solve the above two challenges, we propose a novel fine-tuning framework, semi-supervised transfer boosting (SS-TrBoosting). Given a well-trained deep learning-based UDA or SSDA model, we use it as the initial model, generate additional base learners by boosting, and then use all of them as an ensemble. More specifically, half of the base learners are generated by supervised domain adaptation, and half by semi-supervised learning. Furthermore, for more efficient data transmission and better data privacy protection, we propose a source data generation approach to extend SS-TrBoosting to semi-supervised source-free domain adaptation (SS-SFDA). Extensive experiments showed that SS-TrBoosting can be applied to a variety of existing UDA, SSDA and SFDA approaches to further improve their performance. © 2024, CC BY.

Spicy taste have been utilized in the food industry as appetizers， stomachics， and beverages and in the health sector to alleviate high cholesterol and hypertension. However， an understanding of neural mechanisms and cognitive processes associated with spicy diets remains limited due to the lack of instruments that directly monitoring the brain’s reaction to spicy sensations. This study aimed to examine the neural responses of participants to oral capsaicin solutions through functional near-infrared spectroscopy and reveal distinct neural activation patterns associated with spiciness induction and relief phases. Results showed that the perception of spiciness is a dynamic process， and significant differences in sensory intensity and emotion were observed between the phases. The prefrontal regions of the brain were activated during spicy flavor perception and presented clear lateralization effects. Further spatial localization results indicated that the orbitofrontal， dorsolateral prefrontal， and ventral lateral prefrontal cortices were the main causes of difference in activation among the phases. In addition， correlational analyses indicated that spicy flavor perception activated cortical areas related to emotion and reward processing. Overall， this research enhances our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying addiction to spicy food and may be useful in the development of food on the basis of consumers’ preferences and behavioral responses.

When a large number of distributed power and renewable energy are connected to the smart grid, the volatility and intermittency of renewable energy bring some challenges to the smart grid. Therefore, accurate medium-term load forecasting is essential because it is conducive to the stability of the power grid and can provide data support for the power generating plan. Many factors affect medium-term load forecasting and the real-time electricity price is a very important factor among them. In this paper, a multi-scale model based on LSTM model is proposed to extracts features from 3 different time scales including half-hourly time scale, daily time scale and monthly time scale. At first, the half-hourly data is processed by a half-hourly data processing layer to extract the half-hourly features. Then, its output is concatenated with the daily load data and is input into a daily data processing layer. Finally, the daily features are concatenated with the monthly load data and they are input into a monthly data processing layer to extract the monthly features and get the final forecasting results. The case study results demonstrate that the proposed multi-scale model has better performance than the single-scale models.

Predicting the future trajectory of a target becomes particularly challenging while dealing with occlusion conditions,where current information is unavailable,and historical data becomes the only basis for *** this paper,we propose a trajectory prediction model that utilizes scaled dot product attention mechanism,a convolution neural network,and a bidirectional long short term memory *** scaled dot product attention mechanism gauges the impact of historical sequences,while the convolution neural network extracts intricate feature information from these ***,these data is fed into the bidirectional long short term memory network to forecast the target's navigation *** results highlight that the Attentive CNN-Bi LSTM(ACBL) network which we proposed has lower root mean square error(RMSE) by 23% on average than current methods.

The electrical-gas coupled power flow problem is one of the most basic problems under Energy Internet. In order to achieve a more complete analysis of the electric-gas coupled power flow, this paper establishes a novel integrated energy system model that considers electricity and natural gas. This model integrates the power system AC power flow model and the non-isothermal process of natural gas pipeline transmission, achieving a more accurate description of the power grid and gas network power flow. At the same time, the beneficial effects of energy storage units on the network of each part of the system are analyzed. Through simulation design, the benefits of energy storage access on system cost and security are analyzed and quantified.
