In the conventional robust optimization(RO)context,the uncertainty is regarded as residing in a predetermined and fixed uncertainty *** many applications,however,uncertainties are affected by decisions,making the current RO framework *** paper investigates a class of two-stage RO problems that involve decision-dependent *** introduce a class of polyhedral uncertainty sets whose right-hand-side vector has a dependency on the here-and-now decisions and seek to derive the exact optimal wait-and-see decisions for the second-stage problem.A novel iterative algorithm based on the Benders dual decomposition is proposed where advanced optimality cuts and feasibility cuts are designed to incorporate the uncertainty-decision *** computational tractability,robust feasibility and optimality,and convergence performance of the proposed algorithm are guaranteed with theoretical *** motivating application examples that feature the decision-dependent uncertainties are ***,the proposed solution methodology is verified by conducting case studies on the pre-disaster highway investment problem.

Robust Probabilistic Prediction for Stochastic Dynamical Systems

It is critical and challenging to design robust predictors for stochastic dynamical systems (SDSs) with uncertainty quantification (UQ) in the prediction. Specifically, robustness guarantees the worst-case performance when the predictor’s information set of the system is inadequate, and UQ characterizes how confident the predictor is about the predictions. However, it is difficult for traditional robust predictors to provide robust UQ because they were designed to robustify the performance of point predictions. In this paper, we investigate how to robustify the probabilistic prediction for SDS, which can inherently provide robust distributional UQ. To characterize the performance of probabilistic predictors, we generalize the concept of likelihood function to likelihood functional, and prove that this metric is a proper scoring rule. Based on this metric, we propose a framework to quantify when the predictor is robust and analyze how the information set affects the robustness. Our framework makes it possible to design robust probabilistic predictors by solving functional optimization problems concerning different information sets. In particular, we design a class of moment-based optimal robust probabilistic predictors and provide a practical Kalman-filter-based algorithm for implementation. Unidentifiability of System Dynamics: Conditions and controller Design

How to make a dynamic system unidentifiable is an important but still open issue. It not only requires that the parameters of the systems but also the equivalent systems cannot be identified by any identification approaches. Thus, it is a much more challenging problem than the existing analysis of parameter identifiability. In this paper, we investigate the problem of dynamic unidentifiability and design the controller to make the system dynamics unidentifiable. Specifically, we first define dynamic unidentifiability by taking both system parameters and equivalent systems into consideration. Then, we obtain the necessary and sufficient condition for unidentifiability based on the Fisher Information Matrix. This condition is derived by analysis of the relationship between the unidentifiable parameters and the Hessian matrix of the system function. Next, we propose a controller design scheme for ensuring dynamic unidentifiability under linear system models. We prove that for controllable and observable linear time-invariant systems, the requirement of unidentifiability is equivalent to the requirement of a low-rank controller. Then, the low-rank controller design problem is solved by transforming it into a model order reduction problem. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method by simulation. With the rapid development of new energy technology, it has become a trend to combine wind and solar power generation into the smart grid. In this paper, wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation are introduced into the smart grid, and taking into account the consumption capacity of consumers at different levels, a tiered pricing scheme considering the uncertainty of wind and solar energy is proposed. Firstly, we establish probability density functions of power generation for wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation respectively to express the uncertainty of wind energy and solar energy. To meet the energy demand of consumers at all levels, we present the energy demand model of consumers after considering their electricity demand and temperature influence. Then, we formulate the optimal pricing problem for the electricity market under the framework of tiered pricing, so as to make the energy market get satisfactory income while meeting the energy demand of consumers. Finally, we use the particle swarm optimization algorithm to determine the optimal pricing strategy of the energy market. The simulation results show that when meeting the energy demand of consumers in different temperature conditions, the optimal pricing can be found that meets the satisfactory income of the energy market.

OPTIMAL MIXED STRATEGIES TO THE ZERO-SUM LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL GAME

This paper exploits the weak approximation method to study a zero-sum linear differential game under mixed strategies. The stochastic nature of mixed strategies poses challenges in evaluating the game value and deriving the optimal strategies. To overcome these challenges, we first define the mixed strategy based on time discretization given the control period δ. Then, we design a stochastic differential equation (SDE) to approximate the discretized game dynamic with a small approximation error of scale O(δ2) in the weak sense. Moreover, we prove that the game payoff is also approximated in the same order of accuracy. Next, we solve the optimal mixed strategies and game values for the linear quadratic differential games. The effect of the control period is explicitly analyzed when the payoff is a terminal cost. Our results provide the first implementable form of the optimal mixed strategies for a zero-sum linear differential game. Finally, we provide numerical examples to illustrate and elaborate on our results. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP) is a NP-hard combinatorial optimization challenge, having extensive real-world industrial applications. For a given instance of FJSP, a scheduling solution need to be devised, which entails determining the appropriate machine for each operation and establishing the sequence in which operations are processed on a given machine, all while adhering to certain constraints. However, many of the methods are lacking in flexibility, unable to cope effectively with multi-relational operations and machine selection scenarios. This can make the representation of state and action challenging in practice, leading to a significant increase in decision complexity. This paper considers these issues by a hierarchical graph structure with a model that synergistically integrates two modules: the environment and the decision module. The environment module is characterized by a hierarchical graph neural network which defines the multi-relational FJSP instance where all machine and operation data are stored. The decision module incorporates the Actor-Critic networks, designed to train reasoning strategies and enhance decision performance, based on the states and rewards provided at each step by the environment module. The objective is to derive optimal scheduling strategies through interactions between the decision agent and the environment, targeting the minimum resources consumed or makespan. Numerical simulations validate the efficacy of the proposed approach, showing its potential to yield superior results and thereby enhance performance.

Large Language Models are Few-shot Generators: Proposing Hybrid Prompt Algorithm To Generate Webshell Escape Samples

The frequent occurrence of cyber-attacks has made webshell attacks and defense gradually become a research hotspot in the field of network security. However, the lack of publicly available benchmark datasets and the over-reliance on manually defined rules for webshell escape sample generation have slowed down the progress of research related to webshell escape sample generation and artificial intelligence (AI)-based webshell detection. To address the drawbacks of weak webshell sample escape capabilities, the lack of webshell datasets with complex malicious features, and to promote the development of webshell detection, we propose the Hybrid Prompt algorithm for webshell escape sample generation with the help of large language models. As a prompt algorithm specifically developed for webshell sample generation, the Hybrid Prompt algorithm not only combines various prompt ideas including Chain of Thought, Tree of Thought, but also incorporates various components such as webshell hierarchical module and few-shot example to facilitate the LLM in learning and reasoning webshell escape strategies. Experimental results show that the Hybrid Prompt algorithm can work with multiple LLMs with excellent code reasoning ability to generate high-quality webshell samples with high Escape Rate (88.61% with GPT-4 model on VirusTotal detection engine) and Survival Rate (54.98% with GPT-4 model). Observation-based Optimal control Law Learning with LQR Reconstruction

Designing controllers to generate various trajectories has been studied for years, while recently, recovering an optimal controller from trajectories receives increasing attention. In this paper, we reveal that the inherent linear quadratic regulator (LQR) problem of a moving agent can be reconstructed based on its trajectory observations only, which enables one to learn the optimal control law of the agent autonomously. Specifically, the reconstruction of the optimization problem requires estimation of three unknown parameters including the target state, weighting matrices in the objective function and the control horizon. Our algorithm considers two types of objective function settings and identifies the weighting matrices with proposed novel inverse optimal control methods, providing the well-posedness and identifiability proof. We obtain the optimal estimate of the control horizon using binary search and finally reconstruct the LQR problem with above estimates. The strength of learning control law with optimization problem recovery lies in less computation consumption and strong generalization ability. We apply our algorithm to the future control input prediction and the discrepancy loss is further derived. Numerical simulations and hardware experiments on a self-designed robot platform illustrate the effectiveness of our work. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Microgrids subjected to secondary cooperative control encounter significant challenges, including operational constraints and clock drifts, adversely affecting their stability and efficiency. This paper provides conditions that assure optimal microgrid performance in both transient and steady-state scenarios, focusing on the effects of clock drifts and fluctuations in load. Furthermore, we introduce a novel approach for designing secondary control parameters, specifically engineered to minimize steady-state discrepancies attributable to clock drifts while ensuring adherence to standards for transient operations. Comprehensive experimental validations corroborate the effectiveness of our proposed solutions.

In the last decade, the service of vehicular networks has benefited from the rapid development of advanced communication and computing technologies including edge computing. For vehicular network operators, it is valuable to study how to realize the accurate allocation of edge computing resource on the premise of protecting users’ privacy. In this paper, we design a histogram publishing algorithm based on differential privacy. The algorithm first classifies tasks according to the characteristics of computing requests, then interferes categorized tasks and designs a shuffling algorithm based on Blum Blum Shub (BBS). Finally, the frequency histogram of computing resource is obtained by post-processing of the Expectation-Maximum (EM) algorithm. The simulation results verify the accuracy and superiority of the proposed histogram publishing algorithm by comparing it with the existing methods.
