The existing directional pilot protection (DPP) is susceptible to the line distributed capacitance and the fault resistance, and mostly rely on the current limiting reactance (CLR) at the line ends. To solve the above problems, the line-mode fault component power (LFCP) based DPP is proposed for flexible DC distribution grid (FDCDG). First, the characters of LFCP are discussed under different faults. The theoretical analysis show that the polarity of the LFCP under internal fault is same, while the polarity of the LFCP is opposite under external fault. Then, the LFCP is built as the directional criterion, and the corresponding protection scheme is constructed. The electromagnetic transient simulations of the PSCAD/EMTDC verify that the proposed DPP is less affected by the noise, and has low requirement on the sampling rate, strong engineering applicability.

To manage the challenge of optimizing energy efficiency, an optimization strategy for power allocation in battery clusters is proposed to reduce energy loss in Battery energy Storage systems (BESS). Meanwhile, an improved peak shaving strategy is also proposed, aiming to increase the utilization of energy storage during the peak shaving process and reduce the ineffective utilization hours of energy storage, thereby extending the lifespan of the storage system. Furthermore, based on real-system data, a Simulink/Simscape model is developed to simulate component losses. Under a peak shaving scenario, the effectiveness of the strategy is demonstrated: it reduces the daily operational loss by 3.84% and improves energy round-trip efficiency by 0.4%.

Transient stability assessment(TSA)based on security region is of great significance to the security of power *** this paper,we propose a novel methodology for the assessment of online transient stability *** with a geographic information system(GIS)and transformation rules,the topology information and pre-fault power flow characteristics can be extracted by 2 D computer-vision-based power flow images(CVPFIs).Then,a convolutional neural network(CNN)-based comprehensive network is constructed to map the relationship between the steady-state power flow and the generator stability indices under the anticipated contingency *** network consists of two components:the classification network classifies the input samples into the credibly stable/unstable and uncertain categories,and the prediction network is utilized to further predict the generator stability indices of the categorized samples,which improves the network ability to distinguish between the samples with similar *** proposed methodology can be used to quickly and quantitatively evaluate the transient stability margin of a powersystem,and the simulation results validate the effectiveness of the method.
