Segmented Real-time Dispatch Model and Stochastic Robust Optimization for Power-gas Integrated Systems with Wind Power Uncertainty

This paper develops a segmented real-time dispatch model for power-gas integrated systems(PGISs), where power-to-gas(P2G) devices and traditional automatic generation control units are cooperated to manage wind power uncertainty. To improve the economics of the real-time dispatch in regard to the current high operation cost of P2Gs, the wind power uncertainty set is divided into several segments, and a segmented linear decision rule is developed, which assigns adjustment tasks differently when wind power uncertainty falls into different segments. Thus, the P2G operation with high costs can be reduced in real-time adjustment. Besides, a novel segmented stochastic robust optimization is proposed to improve the efficiency and robustness of PGIS dispatch under wind power uncertainty, which minimizes the expected cost under the empirical wind power distribution and builds up the security constraints based on the robust optimization. The expected cost is formulated using a Nataf conversion-based multi-point estimate method, and the optimal number of estimate points is determined through sensitivity analysis. Furthermore, a difference-ofconvex optimization with a partial relaxation rule is developed to solve the non-convex dispatch problem in a sequential optimization framework. Numerical simulations in two testing cases validate the effectiveness of the proposed model and solving method.

In the new industrial revolution, the market demands integrated talents in new engineering fields. To meet the requirements of the new era for cultivating high-level talents in integrated disciplines, this paper takes the photoelastic tactile sensor as a carrier, developing a task-driven teaching method oriented to student achievement. Combining society’s need with professional knowledge learning and innovation ability cultivation of students, a practical and innovative platform is built to meet the needs of different stages of integrated graduate education for bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Achieving simultaneous enhancement of learning, scientific research and innovation capabilities, it proposes a multi-dimensional assessment mechanism for integrated graduate education, involving long-term assessment of students at different stages and levels. It implements a strict entry and exit policy and comprehensively improves the quality of talent cultivation. Type 1-3 piezoelectric composite vibrators are commonly used in hydroacoustic detection, nondestructive flaw detection and medical ultrasound due to their high electromechanical characteristics and high stability. The temperature stability of piezoelectric composites is one of the key issues in the design of piezoelectric composites due to the large difference in the temperature characteristics of the polymer and piezoelectric ceramic phases, and the research on the testing method of the temperature deformation of piezoelectric composite oscillators can provide a reliable basis for the screening of piezoelectric composite oscillators for transducers, and promote the improvement of the piezoelectric composite oscillator design and preparation process, which has great significance for the performance enhancement of the transducer and the sonar system. It is of great significance for the improvement of transducer and sonar system performance. In this paper, the temperature characteristics of six piezoelectric composites with different polymer phases are compared, and the results show that the 9110B and 9110W silicone piezoelectric composites have better temperature stability. The relative change in frequency constant of 9110B silicone piezoelectric composite is 0.12 and the relative change in dielectric constant is 2.29 under the variable temperature environment from 25 °C to 120 °C. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

To compile the load spectrum for the transmission shaft in hybrid special vehicles with high reliability, this paper employs the parameter extrapolation method for load spectrum compilation. By collecting experimental real vehicle torque load data and related driving records, the operation process of the special vehicle would be divided into 5 typical operating conditions. Throughout the pre-processed load data, the rainflow counting method is applied to develop statistically analysis and distribution-fitting. Based on the probability statistical distribution results, it could indicate that: the amplitude values for each operating condition follow a lognormal distribution;the means value for each operating condition follow a 3-parameter lognormal distribution, and they are mutually independent. Accordingly, the load extremes and frequencies are extrapolated for the target life cycle, and the rationality of the extrapolation is verified. Based on the extrapolation results, an 8-level two-dimensional load spectrum and a one-dimensional program spectrum are compiled. In general, the research results provide a foundation for the reliability testing of hybrid special vehicles. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

As a critical component in mechanical equipment, the fault diagnosis of rolling bearings is of great significance. Due to the presence of substantial noise in vibration signals, extracting fault features becomes particularly challenging. This paper proposes a method combining Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) based on the envelope entropy selection criterion for rolling bearing fault diagnosis. First, the VMD method is used to decompose the vibration signal into several Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) components, and the envelope spectrum of these components is obtained through envelope analysis. Then, the envelope entropy is adopted as the IMF component selection criterion to select the IMF components that best reflect the fault characteristics. The envelope energy of the selected IMF components is used as feature indicators and input into the SVM model to achieve fault type recognition. This method is applied to the fault diagnosis experiment of rolling bearing vibration signals, and the results show that the method can accurately extract fault features and effectively recognize fault types. The experimental results indicate that the fault recognition accuracy of this method reaches 99.5%. By comparing with other methods, the superiority and practical application value of this method in rolling bearing fault diagnosis are verified. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

The performance degradation of the powertrain in service significantly affects the stability and reliability of tracked vehicles. To assess the powertrain health state of tracked vehicles, this study proposes a health state evaluation method for the transmission mechanism of the powertrain based on a composite weight cloud model. Firstly, the model establishes a health evaluation indexes system for the transmission mechanism, calculates the subjective index weights based on the AHP method and utilizes the EWM-CRITIC method to compute the objective index weights. However, the subjective and objective weights have some limitations. Therefore, the weights of subjective and objective indexes are fused through the game theory to obtain the composite weights of indexes. Secondly, this research categorizes the health status levels of the transmission mechanism to establish an evaluation standard cloud model and combines index weights and data to generate a comprehensive cloud model. Then, the cloud memberships are calculated for different mileage comprehensive clouds to quantitatively analyse the cloud model. Finally, the feasibility of the composite weight cloud model health evaluation method is verified by comparing it with other health evaluation methods, which provides a reference for the health state evaluation of the powertrain. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

The driveshaft is the core component in the driveline system of Heavy-Duty Vehicles (HDV). Its torque transfer performance is related to the operational capability. The torque prediction is of great significance for studying the dynamics of HDV. Therefore, this paper proposes a driveshaft torque prediction model using a Multi-Strategy Grey Wolf Optimizer (MSGWO) to optimize the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network. First, a torque calculation method based on real vehicle sensing data is proposed to provide samples for neural network training. Second, the MSGWO is used to optimize the hyperparameters of LSTM to construct the prediction model based on MSGWO-LSTM. Finally, the model is validated using a dataset composed of real vehicle sensing data and calculated torque. Compared to GWO-LSTM, LSTM, and Backpropagation (BP) models, the MSGWO-LSTM model proposed in this paper reduces the RMSE of real-time shifting torque prediction values by 41.59%, 66.14%, and 86.78%, respectively. The RMSE of short mileage prediction value decreases by 43.63%, 62.22%, and 68.92%, respectively. The results show that the model has high prediction accuracy and can effectively predict the torque of the HDV driveshaft. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

As a major software testing method, fuzzing has the potential to enhance testing coverage and detect a great number of software vulnerabilities in complex code programs. The current fuzzy testing for multiple input parameters lacks an effective calling mechanism and treats all variant parameter equally, resulting in low efficiency. This paper presents a fuzzy testing method based on Bayesian algorithm for scheduling parameters. Firstly, it combines the characteristics of input parameters to match the appropriate variation strategy. Secondly, it utlizes the Bayesian algorithm to automatically generate weight values for the objective function index during sufficient testing. It evaluates test cases with multi-parameter inputs according to these weights and selects parameters with high utilization value for multiple tests. Finally, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the method of this paper, an application programming interface of Amercian fuzzy lop (AFL-API) is developed based on the typical fuzzy testing tool AFL++, and compared with AFL++ as a fuzzy testing tool. The experimental results demonstate that when using the AFL-API for program testing, there was 47% increase in coverage rate, 52% increase in the number of discovered crashes, and more program vulnerabilities were identified during actual testing. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

An asymmetric capacitive haptic sensor structure with three-dimensional force detection capability has been designed. The sensor unit comprises a upper public electrode, three under electrode plates and fork finger electrodes. Developed a visualization interface for this system by PyQt5. A series of tests were conducted on the sensor, including tensile and flex fatigue tests, single and dynamic pressure performance tests, tangential force performance tests and three-dimensional force tests. The response time of the sensor was found to be 3.5 seconds, while the recovery time was 5.5 seconds. The sensitivity of the Z-axis was 0.081 Kpa-1 in the range of 0 to 4.22 Kpa and 0.014 Kpa-1 in the range of 4.22 to 29.31 Kpa, the sensitivities in the positive and negative directions of the X-axis was 0.223 pF/N and -0.248 pF/N, while the sensitivities in the positive and negative directions of the Y-axis was 0.242 pF/N and -0.243 pF/N. The tests demonstrates that the sensor exhibited satisfactory flexibility, repeatability, and a linearity of 0.16%, thereby ensuring reliable measurement outcomes. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

The PDMS/GO composite film with porous structure was successfully prepared by sacrificial template method. The output performance test and morphology characterization analysis of composite films with different sacrificial particle sizes, different thicknesses and different mass fractions of graphene oxide (GO) were carried out. The optimal particle size and thickness were 63 ~ 75 μm and 3 mm, respectively, and the optimal doping ratio was 10wt %, and the triboelectric flexible sensor array was prepared. Design signal conversion circuit, power module, reset circuit, gating circuit, and upload to the host computer to process data and display. In the process of pulse signal acquisition, five groups of pulse data were collected from four students, and the collected data were analyzed and compared. The experimental results show that the five groups of pulse data of each student are almost consistent, and the influence of the subjects ' breathing and other subtle factors during the test will lead to different test results. Through the overall analysis, the overall difference value of the data is small, and the maximum difference is within0.15V. It shows that the sensor performs well in terms of sensitivity and repeatability. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.
