The torsional impactor converts the kinetic energy of the drilling fluid into fixed-frequency mechanical circumferential vibration, which can effectively suppress the drilling stick–slip phenomenon and increase the mechanical drilling speed. However, due to various factors such as its performance, formation lithology, and construction parameters such as weight of bit and displacement, it is not possible to effectively monitor and evaluate the working condition and performance of the torsional impactor in the well by relying on surface observation data. In this paper, the torsional impactor is connected to a near-bit measurement tool to form a torsional impactor monitoring system. By experimentally measuring the vibration, rotational speed, bit weight, and torque data of the torsional impactor during operation, the data features are extracted by combining the time domain and frequency domain analysis methods to monitor the operating impact frequency of the torsional impactor and analyze the influence of different drilling parameters on the working efficiency of the torsional impactor. The analysis results show that this study can achieve the monitoring of the working status and working efficiency of the downhole speed lifting tool, which is beneficial to the optimization design of the speed lifting tool and the improvement of the working efficiency. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

GD-YOLO:A Network with Gather and Distribution Mechanism for Infrared Image Detection of Electrical Equipment

As technologies related to power equipment fault diagnosis and infrared temperature measurement continue to advance,the classification and identification of infrared temperature measurement images have become crucial in effective intelligent fault diagnosis of various electrical *** response to the increasing demand for sufficient feature fusion in current real-time detection and low detection accuracy in existing networks for Substation fault diagnosis,we introduce an innovative method known as Gather and Distribution Mechanism-You Only Look Once(GD-YOLO).Firstly,a partial convolution group is designed based on different convolution *** combine the partial convolution group with deep convolution to propose a new Grouped Channel-wise Spatial Convolution(GCSConv)that compensates for the information loss caused by spatial channel ***,the Gather and Distribute Mechanism,which addresses the fusion problem of different dimensional features,has been implemented by aligning and sharing information through aggregation and distribution ***,considering the limitations in current bounding box regression and the imbalance between complex and simple samples,Maximum Possible Distance Intersection over Union(MPDIoU)and Adaptive SlideLoss is incorporated into the loss function,allowing samples near the Intersection over Union(IoU)to receive more attention through the dynamic variation of the mean Intersection over *** GD-YOLO algorithm can surpass YOLOv5,YOLOv7,and YOLOv8 in infrared image detection for electrical equipment,achieving a mean Average Precision(mAP)of 88.9%,with accuracy improvements of 3.7%,4.3%,and 3.1%,***,the model delivers a frame rate of 48 FPS,which aligns with the precision and velocity criteria necessary for the detection of infrared images in power equipment.

Aiming at the potential security hazards caused by illegal smoking of some mobile personnel in the non-smoking area of the park, a method based on human body key points is proposed to detect smoking behavior. Firstly, the coordinate information of key points of the human body is extracted by OpenPose. Then, the distance ratio from the wrist to the nose and from the nose to the neck, as well as the angle between the upper arm and the forearm, are further calculated. The distance ratio is taken as the main basis and the angle is used as the auxiliary basis to distinguish smoking and non-smoking behaviors. Through the comparative analysis of the experimental results, it is found that this method can effectively identify the smoking posture of the characters in the self-collected smoking data. © 2024 The Authors.

In this paper, Factors affecting the sensitivity of a MEMS gyro with four sets of bi-directional thermal expansion flows, such as the duty cycle of the heating signal, in order to optimize the operating parameters and enhance performance, the upper chamber gas and other factors are investigated. The variation of the temperature field of the sensitive element is analysed and verified by calculations using COMSOL software, while a 3D model of the gyro is established. The optimized calculation results demonstrate that, under the conditions of the ideal heater frequency of 10 Hz, duty cycle of 60%, and power of 70 mW, the optimized MEMS thermal expansion flow gyroscope has a structural sensitivity of 23.5 mK/°/s when the input angular velocity is in the range of [-400%, 400%], using the upper chamber with a larger volume and Ar as the upper chamber's warming gas. The nonlinearity is 2.984%. The numerical analysis results extend the idea for the preparation and exploration of the same type of gyro in the future. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

We propose thermal expansion flow gyroscopes with self-balancing resistance and study their impact resistance. In this paper, a thermal expansion flow gyro with self-balancing resistors is used as the research basis, aiming to improve the environmental adaptability of the gyro through technological innovation. The thermal expansion flow gyro contains an upper chamber, a lower chamber and a base layer, which contains four thermistors, two heating resistors and two balancing resistors. In order to improve the detection accuracy of the Wheatstone bridge, the balancing resistors and thermistors are fabricated using the same MEMS process, which ensures that the balancing resistors are highly consistent with the thermistors in terms of material, structure, and process, and achieves a high degree of matching and stability. Based on the above analysis, we carried out a finite element analysis of the impact resistance of the self-contained balancing resistor thermal expansion flow gyro. The experimental results show that the impact resistance of this thermal expansion flow gyro can reach 14,752 g when the load is applied in 0~10ms, which fully proves its high stability in harsh environments. The results of this study will provide a reference for subsequent gyro performance studies. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

In this work, we designed a full-duplex wireless optical communication system based on underwater semiconductor laser alignment and image transmission. For various underwater operations such as seabed exploration, underwater platform defense, and deep-sea resource exploration, underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) technology has unique advantages due to its high data transmission rate and low latency. The system's transmitter uses blue-green semiconductor lasers with powers of 5W and wavelengths of 445nm and 520nm. The receiver utilizes a wide-field fisheye lens and a high-sensitivity laser detector, employing OOK modulation at a pulse signal transmission rate of 2Mbps to achieve low bit error rate (BER) high-resolution video transmission. Additionally, the system uses a high-definition optical imaging CCD camera and a laser array for alignment simulation experiments, significantly improving the probability of mutual alignment in duplex underwater laser communication by using high-definition optical imaging modules to capture near-field underwater images. © 2024 SPIE.

To improve the stability control capability of distributed electric drive vehicles on rough road surfaces, a hierarchical stability control strategy that considers road interference is proposed. In the upper-level controller, a new rollover energy stability index based on the energy method is designed. An enhanced sliding mode controller is employed to simultaneously control the yaw rate and the center-of-mass side slip angle as the control objectives. The sliding mode theory determines the additional yaw moment required for maintaining vehicle stability under road disturbances. The lower-level controller designs an optimal torque distribution strategy to allocate the yaw torque output, generated by the upper-level controller, to each wheel for achieving vehicle stability control. Joint simulations are conducted using CARSIM and MATLAB/Simulink to perform simulation experiments. The results demonstrate that this control method effectively enhances the stable steering control of distributed electric drive vehicles on rough roads, reduces the risk of vehicle sideslip and rollover during steering, and improves driving safety. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In response to the issue of poor real-time performance caused by the large computational load of feature-based methods, this paper proposed an RGB-D visual SLAM algorithm which integrates optical flow and feature-based methods. This algorithm combined optical flow with the feature-based method, effectively improving the real-time performance of the algorithm while maintaining high precision. Firstly, keyframes are matched using feature-based methods, and camera motion is computed by minimizing the reprojection error. For non-keyframes, keypoints are extracted without computing descriptors and tracked using the optical flow pyramid, and pose estimation is achieved by minimizing the photometric error. Secondly, a dual mechanism based on time and space is employed to execute keyframes insertion which ensures tracking stability. Additionally, an adaptive threshold algorithm is proposed to enhance tracking robustness in low-light environments. Experimental results on the TUM dataset indicated that, with comparable average localization accuracy, the proposed algorithm reduces average tracking cost by 37.19%, achieving real-time frame rates of up to 45 fps on mid-to-low-performance CPUs. © 2024 IEEE.
