Adhesive surface-enhanced Raman scattering Cu-Au nanoassembly for the sensitive analysis of particulate matter

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)has been used in atmospheric aerosol detection as it enables the high-resolution analysis of particulate ***,its use in the detection of historical samples without damaging the sampling membrane while achieving effective transfer and the high-sensitivity analysis of particulate matter from sample films remains *** this study,a new type of SERS tape was developed,consisting of Au nanoparticles(NPs)on an adhesive double-sided Cu film(DCu).The enhanced electromagnetic field generated by the coupled resonance of the local surface plasmon resonances of AuNPs and DCu led to an enhanced SERS signal with an experimental enhancement factor of 10^(7).The AuNPs were semi-embedded and distributed on the substrate,and the viscous DCu layer was exposed,enabling particle *** substrates exhibited good uniformity and favorable reproducibility with relative standard deviations of 13.53%and 9.74%respectively,and the substrates could be stored for 180 days with no signs of signal *** application of the substrates was demonstrated by the extraction and detection of malachite green and ammonium salt particulate *** results demonstrated that SERS substrates based on AuNPs and DCu are highly promising in real–world environmental particle monitoring and detection.

Nowadays, technologies of distributed generation (DG) and distributed energy resource (DER) are developing rapidly. It has been demonstrated to be more reliable and economical that DGs or DERs are integrated into the traditional power grid based on micro-grid. So, more and more micro-grids will occur in distribution system in the future. In this paper, we mainly concern and discuss the impact of micro-grids on the distribution network reconfiguration. A model suitable for reconfiguration of distribution system with micro-grids is presented in this paper. Once a fault occurs in a distribution system, it can be applied to construct some islands so as to guarantee the power supply for some important customers and to reduce the system power loss at the same time. The problem is decomposed into a capacity subproblem and a reconfiguration sub-problem. The former is used to determine the optimal capacity for each island, and the latter is used to find the optimal reconfiguration with less power loss. They are called iteratively to get the optimal solution. Finally, some typical systems are employed to validate the effectiveness of the presented method.

Polymer insulating materials installed in electrical and electronic devices are widely used in spacecraft and nuclear power stations where the polymers are exposed to energetic radioactive rays. The chemical structure can be changed by radiation induced reactions that possibly gives rise to the alteration of characteristics of surface charge, which can enhance the local electrical field and cause surface discharge that damages the insulation. For the safe use of the material, it's necessary to gain a good understanding of radiation effect on surface charge accumulation. In this paper, polyethylene was employed as test sample which was previously irradiated in air up to 100 kGy and then up to 1000 kGy with dose rate of 10 kGy / h by using a 60Co gamma-source. The sample surface was corona charged by applying a series of dc stresses on needle electrode that was set 6 mm above the surface. An electrostatic probe was designed to measure the surface charge density immediately after the charging process. Obtained results show the dependence of surface charge distribution upon the radiation dose varying as a function of the polarity of charging particles. It is suggested that surface charge accumulation depends upon the behavior of localized surface states, which is altered by radiation-induced degradation and cross-linking reactions of the chemical structure. © 2006 IEEE.

Efficient and effective use of renewable energy, distributed generation and energy storage can solve global problems such as energy crisis and climate change. A promising solution to interconnecting these distributed energy resources with the utility grid is the microgrid paradigm. Due to the dispersion of distributed sources and loads, different distributed sources use the different control strategies. Microgrid is usually interconnected with the utility grid by the inverter, which causes to many current harmonics in the export of the inverter. Without the support of the utility grid, the variation of reactive power of the loads in the island microgrid will lead to voltage fluctuation. Under the premise of assuming that the microsource could supply adequate active power to the loads, this paper proposes a combined system constructed by Shunt Active power Filter (SAPF) and Static Var Compensator (SVC) to improve the power quality of the island microgrid, in which SAPF uses the positive sequence method for harmonic detection and uses Hysteresis control method for current tracking control and is adopted near the microsource to mitigate harmonic currents and SVC is set near the load to compensate reactive power so as to relieve the voltage variation. simulation results show the effectiveness of the combined system. © 2011 IEEE.

Instantaneous energy balancing plays an important role in power electronics conversion. The unbalance of electromagnetic energy not only debases the system performance but also decreases the reliability and efficiency of the conversion. In this paper, instantaneous energy balancing problems in three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) converters are classified and discussed. Typical examples and their usual solutions of each kind of problems are expounded and compared. In the end of this paper, limitations and disadvantages of traditional methods are analyzed, and electromagnetic field method is summarized as the new trend to analyze electromagnetic energy transmission and exchange. The method using electromagnetic field theory is emphasized to be the better approach to solve the aforementioned energy balancing problems. © 2008 IEEE.

Traveling wave method has been proved to be effective in fault line selection of power distribution system with the neutral non-effectively grounded. However, it can be easily disturbed by non-faulty traveling wave when selecting the line. For this reason, this paper proposes a new traveling wave line selection method based on sparse representation, in which current traveling wave signals are measured for the selection task. The algorithm of selection is based on the idea that all non-zero terms in the sparse coefficients of the measured signal are found to be associated with training samples from a single class, and the test samples can be easily assigned to the class. This makes it possible to distinguish between the non-faulty traveling wave and the real fault traveling wave. © 2019 IEEE.

The rapid detection of characteristics of voltage sag is an important prerequisite for using dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) for voltage compensation. This paper introduced an improved derivation detection method based on dq transformation. simulation was performed to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of both methods and compare them. Results showed that the improved detection method had shorter delay and better waveform of detection and met the requirements of accuracy and timeliness better. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

The communication protocol is important for applying adjustable speed drive (ASD) systems to an industry network. This paper proposes a novel scheme of communication system for the ASD system based on Modbus protocol. The most remarkable advantage of the approach lies in the tradeoff between performance and economic cost for a power converter system. The overall system is built on master-slave structure and easy for interacting with other networks. An additional study on the cyclic redundancy check (CRC) in Modbus RTU is introduced to obtain the optimization design in the actual application and the optimization method in software design is also presented. The performance of the communication system obtained from experiment conducted on the 15kW ASD system validates the effectiveness of the proposed design method. © 2008 IEEE.

An MPPT control strategy based on the combination of adaptive nonlinear mutation particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed. The algorithm uses the tanh function to control the inertia weight, balances the ability of particles to optimize globally and locally, uses the ISRU function to control the learning factor, balances the weight relationship between individual learning and social learning, and improves the convergence speed of the algorithm. The nonlinear Cauchy mutation operation is proposed to expand the scope of optimization;Finally, the perturbation and observation method is used to track locally near the maximum power point to reduce power oscillation. The simulation validates that the photovoltaic MPPT control strategy based on the improved particle swarm algorithm can effectively get the maximum power point under shading conditions and improve the output efficiency of the PV array. © 2024 IEEE.

After some disastrous instabilities and blackouts, power system voltage stability has drawn even more attention. When a serious fault occurs, proper control should be quickly adopted to terminate the system deterioration. In this paper, a control method based on power flow tracing is presented to enhance power system voltage stability. Firstly, a branchadmittance-decreasing algorithm is introduced to determine the minimum power cutting after a serious fault. power flow tracing is then used to allocate the power to load and generator buses so as to get the corresponding load shedding and generation tripping. Comparing with the previous methods based on power flow sensitivity, the presented method can appropriately consider influence of some nonlinearities in power system, such as the discrete tap changing of OLTC, exciter hard-limit. Since power flow tracing is mainly used in the congestion management, allocation of power loss and transmission charges in the deregulation study, the presented method is compatible to the power system operation under deregulation. Finally, New-England system and IEEE 118-bus system are employed to verify the effectiveness of the presented method.
