Learning with Noisy Labels (LNL) aims to improve the model generalization when facing data with noisy labels, and existing methods generally assume that noisy labels come from known classes, called closed-set noise. However, in real-world scenarios, noisy labels from similar unknown classes, i.e., open-set noise, may occur during the training and inference stage. Such open-world noisy labels may significantly impact the performance of LNL methods. In this study, we propose a novel dual-space joint learning method to robustly handle the open-world noise. To mitigate model overfitting on closed-set and open-set noises, a dual representation space is constructed by two networks. One is a projection network that learns shared representations in the prototype space, while the other is a One-Vs-All (OVA) network that makes predictions using unique semantic representations in the class-independent space. Then, bi-level contrastive learning and consistency regularization are introduced in two spaces to enhance the detection capability for data with unknown classes. To benefit from the memorization effects across different types of samples, class-independent margin criteria are designed for sample identification, which selects clean samples, weights closed-set noise, and filters open-set noise effectively. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods and achieves an average accuracy improvement of 4.55% and an AUROC improvement of 6.17% on CIFAR80N. We present a no-reference image-quality - assessment algorithm based on active reasoning module. This algorithm has three modules: the feature extraction module, the active reasoning module, and the quality assessment module. The active reasoning module incorporates the generator component of the generative adversarial network and enhances its structure with the Res2Net architecture. By integrating this module into the backbone feature extraction network, we improve the receptive field of each convolutional layer, enabling the network to capture information at different scales of the image. To preserve the texture information of the image, we input the gradient map of the distorted image, the distorted image itself, and the image features generated by the generator into the quality assessment module, which has a multi-feature regression networks. This module establishes a mapping model from image-feature to image-quality scores. We conducted experimental analysis of this algorithm on three widely used public datasets, confirming the excellent performance and superiorities of the presented algorithm. The results validate the effectiveness of the designed algorithm and its ability to assess image quality accurately. © 2023 IEEE.

The discovery of three-dimensional (3D) hand models corresponding to the user's 3D hand pose in initial frames is significant in 3D human hand tracking and interacting. This study proposes an approach to initialize 3D hand gestures for the user to have an easier, more pleasurable, and satisfactory experience. This paper covers the following points. First, a new approach to selecting a human hand gesture from the hand postures database is presented. Second, both techniques of visualization and human-computer interaction are used in the initialization process, through which the 3D human hand model is fine tuned time after time until the required accuracy is satisfied. Lastly, the proposed initialization method is applied to our online virtual assembling system. We introduce a key factor to improve time cost of initialization. Our experimental results show that the proposed approach is not only fast, accurate, and robust but also direct, natural, and convenient for operators to handle.

In the domain of facial recognition security, multimodal Face Anti-Spoofing (FAS) is essential for countering presentation attacks. However, existing technologies encounter challenges due to modality biases and imbalances, as well as domain shifts. Our research introduces a Mixture of Experts (MoE) model to address these issues effectively. We identified three limitations in traditional MoE approaches to multimodal FAS: (1) Coarse-grained experts’ inability to capture nuanced spoofing indicators; (2) Gated networks’ susceptibility to input noise affecting decision-making; (3) MoE’s sensitivity to prompt tokens leading to overfitting with conventional learning methods. To mitigate these, we propose the Bypass Isolated Gating MoE (BIG-MoE) framework, featuring: (1) Fine-grained experts for enhanced detection of subtle spoofing cues; (2) An isolation gating mechanism to counteract input noise; (3) A novel differential convolutional prompt bypass enriching the gating network with critical local features, thereby improving perceptual capabilities. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate significant generalization performance improvement in multimodal FAS task. The code is released at https://***/murInJ/BIG-MoE.

Smart contracts are programs that run on a blockchain, where Ethereum is one of the most popular ones supporting them. Due to the fact that they are immutable, it is essential to design smart contracts bug-free before they are deployed. However, various defects have been found in the deployed smart contracts, causing huge economic losses and lowing people's trust. Writing secure smart contracts is far from trivial, where developers tend to engage in reliable resources or social coding platforms to reuse code. This leads to a large number of similar contracts with potential security risks. Therefore, detecting similarity of smart contracts helps to avoid vulnerabilities, identify threats, and improve the security of Ethereum. In this paper, we design a learning-effective and cost-efficient model, called SmartSD, for Ethereum smart contract similarity detection. Different from the current research efforts, SmartSD is performed on a bytecode level and leverages deep neural networks to learn the latent representations from the opcode sequences for smart contract bytecodes, where the representation learning and similarity measurement are supervised via siamese neural networks. The experimental evaluations demonstrate that SmartSD outperforms EClone's 93.27% accuracy, achieving 98.37% high detection accuracy and 0.9850 F1-score, which is computationally tractable and effectively mitigates the interference caused by compilers. © 2022 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, big data, and generative AI models has ushered in significant transformations across various sectors, including education. Digital Human Technique, an innovative technology grounded in advanced computer science and artificial intelligence, is reshaping educational paradigms by enabling virtual humans to simulate human behavior, express emotions, and interact with users. This paper explores the application of Digital Human Technique in education reform, focusing on creating immersive, intelligent classroom experiences that foster meaningful interactions between teachers and students. We define Digital Human Technique and delve into its key technical components such as character modeling and rendering, natural language processing, computer vision, and augmented reality technologies. Our methodology involves analyzing the role of educational digital humans created through these technologies, assessing their impact on educational processes, and examining various application scenarios in educational reform. Results indicate that Digital Human Technique significantly enhances the learning experience by enabling personalized teaching, increasing engagement, and fostering emotional connections. Educational digital humans serve as virtual teachers, interactive learning aids, and facilitators of emotional interaction, effectively addressing the challenges of traditional educational methods. In order to obtain an absorber with high absorption efficiency and wide absorption band, a metamaterial structure by Metal-ENZ-Insulator-Metal (MEIM) is designed, and its absorption in the 130-230 THz band is calculated using the simulation software frequency-domain solver. By rotating the upper metal layer and the lower hollow layer, the simulation results can be slightly disturbed. In addition, the introduction of the epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) media will also affect the bandwidth and absorption of the absorber. Therefore, the high absorption and wide bandwidth of the absorber are achieved by the size of the structure, the rotation angle of the corresponding structure,and the clever application of the ITO layer. © 2022 IEEE.

Most existing models for entity alignment tasks are based on a single pre-training mode. Through multiple experiments, it has been verified that a single pre-training model is no longer sufficient to meet the needs of current entity alignment tasks. Based on considerations of multiple pre-training models, this paper proposes an entity alignment method that utilizes multiple pre-training models. The purpose of this method is to address the limited accuracy in entity alignment tasks, with a particular focus on separately pre-training the embedding of entity attribute information and link relationship information for matching. To achieve the goal of improving entity alignment accuracy, this paper adopts joint alignment using pre-training with BERT and GloVe word embeddings. Experimental evaluations are conducted on the DBP15k dataset, and the results demonstrate that leveraging multiple pre-training models for attribute and relationship joint alignment can enhance model performance. The evaluation metrics of the model on three different language datasets, Hits@1 and MRR, are as follows: 0.899, 0.930, 0.964, and 0.932, 0.951, 0.975, respectively. These metrics indicate that the model performs well in aligning entities and outperforms current mainstream entity alignment methods.

Integrated photonic gadgets play a key function in lots of fields. The process of designing silicon optical devices mostly relies on experience to manually adjust the subtle parameters, which is laborious and ineffective. The proposed inverse design algorithms can simplify the design process of silicon optical devices, improve the design efficiency, and realize multifunctional compact devices. In this paper, two inverse design based methods are proposed to design terahertz band wavelength division multiplexer(WDM). One is based on topology optimization to design a 4-channel ultra-wideband WDM and the other employs a direct binary search technique to create a 3-channel ultra-wideband terahertz WDM, both of which have high transmission, low interference and high integration. Multifunctional photonics devices are predicted to be increasingly used in modern photonic integrated circuits due to these advantages. © 2022 IEEE.

Relational-Branchformer: Novel Framework for Audio-Visual Speech Recognition

This study embraced the state-of-the-art Branchformer series architecture within the realm of automatic speech recognition, supplanting the widely utilized Conformer architecture. This substitution offers an innovative remedy tailored to audio-visual speech recognition tasks. Building upon the Branchformer architecture, enhancements were made culminating in the proposal of the Relational-Branchformer (R-Branchformer). The convolutional attention relation module was innovatively incorporated to augment the connectivity between the local and global branches by meticulously considering their interrelations and interplays. Consequently, this module facilitates the mutual embedding of local and global contextual information, ultimately leading to a substantial enhancement in model performance. Our model was grounded in the utilization of the connectionist temporal classification (CTC) loss, wherein we incorporated intermediate CTC losses between blocks. Moreover,through the reference and enhancement of the gated interlayer collaboration module, which superseded the inter CTC module, we effectively relaxed the conditional independence assumption intrinsic to the CTC model. As a consequence, this augmentation markedly bolstered the overall performance of our model. Furthermore, we proposed the audio-visual output enhancement module, which adeptly assimilates information from both audio and visual modalities to enrich the representation of audio-visual information. Consequently, the R-Branchformer model achieved remarkable word error rates of 1.7% and 1.5% on the LRS2 and LRS3 test sets, respectively, exemplifying its state-of-the-art performance in audio-visual speech recognition tasks. © 2023, The Authors.
