A Large-scale Multiple-objective Method for Black-box Attack against Object Detection

Recent studies have shown that detectors based on deep models are vulnerable to adversarial examples, even in the black-box scenario where the attacker cannot access the model information. Most existing attack methods aim to minimize the true positive rate, which often shows poor attack performance, as another sub-optimal bounding box may be detected around the attacked bounding box to be the new true positive one. To settle this challenge, we propose to minimize the true positive rate and maximize the false positive rate, which can encourage more false positive objects to block the generation of new true positive bounding boxes. It is modeled as a multi-objective optimization (MOP) problem, of which the generic algorithm can search the Pareto-optimal. However, our task has more than two million decision variables, leading to low searching efficiency. Thus, we extend the standard Genetic Algorithm with Random Subset selection and Divide-and-Conquer, called GARSDC, which significantly improves the efficiency. Moreover, to alleviate the sensitivity to population quality in generic algorithms, we generate a gradient-prior initial population, utilizing the transferability between different detectors with similar backbones. Compared with the state-of-art attack methods, GARSDC decreases by an average 12.0 in the mAP and queries by about 1000 times in extensive experiments. Federated learning (FL) is a new technology in the field of machine learning, which trains an algorithm across multiple decentralized edge devices or servers holding data samples, without exchanging their data samples. Horizontal Federated Learning (HFL) is a FL method focusing on using the same feature space across all users, which is suitable for situations where users' data feature dimensions overlap more. Because FL has the advantage of privacy protection in the field of manufacturing, we propose an HFL-based deep learning method named FedCNN, which realizes the digits handwritten recognition without violating the privacy or data sharing. Three different methods (local model, centralized model, and HFL-based FedCNN) are used on a public data set (MINIST) to compare the pros and cons of the solutions. The experimental results demonstrate that FedCNN scheme can simultaneously achieve practical privacy preservation and good model generalization performance with Homomorphic Encryption. © 2021 IEEE.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been widely recognized as the representative waveform for 5G wireless networks, which can directly support sensing/positioning with existing infrastructure. To guarantee superior sensing/positioning accuracy while supporting high-speed communications simultaneously, the dual functions tend to be assigned with different resource elements (REs) due to their diverse design requirements. This motivates optimization of resource allocation/waveform design across time, frequency, power and delay-Doppler domains. Therefore, this article proposes two cross-domain waveform optimization strategies for effective convergence of OFDM-based communications and sensing/positioning, following communication- and sensing-centric criteria, respectively. For the communication-centric design, to maximize the achievable data rate, a fraction of REs are optimally allocated for communications according to prior knowledge of the communication channel. The remaining REs are then employed for sensing/positioning, where the sidelobe level and peak-to-average power ratio are suppressed by optimizing its power-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics for sensing performance improvement. For the sensing-centric design, a 'locally' perfect auto-correlation property is ensured for accurate sensing and positioning by adjusting the unit cells of the ambiguity function within its region of interest (RoI). Afterwards, the irrelevant cells beyond RoI, which can readily determine the sensing power allocation, are optimized with the communication power allocation to enhance the achievable data rate. Metro origin-destination prediction is a crucial yet challenging time-series analysis task in intelligent transportation systems, which aims to accurately forecast two specific types of cross-station ridership, i.e., Origin-Destination (OD) one and Destination-Origin (DO) one. However, complete OD matrices of previous time intervals can not be obtained immediately in online metro systems, and conventional methods only used limited information to forecast the future OD and DO ridership separately. In this work, we proposed a novel neural network module termed Heterogeneous Information Aggregation Machine (HIAM), which fully exploits heterogeneous information of historical data (e.g., incomplete OD matrices, unfinished order vectors, and DO matrices) to jointly learn the evolutionary patterns of OD and DO ridership. Specifically, an OD modeling branch estimates the potential destinations of unfinished orders explicitly to complement the information of incomplete OD matrices, while a DO modeling branch takes DO matrices as input to capture the spatial-temporal distribution of DO ridership. Moreover, a Dual Information Transformer is introduced to propagate the mutual information among OD features and DO features for modeling the OD-DO causality and correlation. Based on the proposed HIAM, we develop a unified Seq2Seq network to forecast the future OD and DO ridership simultaneously. Extensive experiments conducted on two large-scale benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our method for online metro origin-destination prediction. Cell-free (CF) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems show great potentials in low-mobility scenarios, due to cell boundary disappearance and strong macro diversity. However, the great Doppler frequency offset (DFO) leads to serious inter-carrier interference in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology, which makes it difficult to provide high-quality transmissions for both high-speed train (HST) operation control systems and passengers. In this paper, we focus on the performance of CF massive MIMO-OFDM systems with both fully centralized and local minimum mean square error (MMSE) combining in HST communications. Considering the local maximum ratio (MR) combining, the large-scale fading decoding (LSFD) cooperation and the practical effect of DFO on system performance, exact closed-form expressions for uplink spectral efficiency (SE) expressions are derived. We observe that cooperative MMSE combining achieves better SE performance than uncooperative MR combining. In addition, HST communications with small cell and cellular massive MIMO-OFDM systems are compared in terms of SE. Numerical results reveal that the CF massive MIMO-OFDM system achieves a larger and more uniform SE than the other systems. Finally, the train antenna centric (TA-centric) CF massive MIMO-OFDM system is designed for practical implementation in HST communications, and three power control schemes are adopted to optimize the propagation of TAs for reducing the impact of the DFO. The boost of rumor spreading by the Internet has caused a series of social problems. Refuting the rumor timely can alleviate the harm caused by rumor dissemination. To investigate the propagation mechanism of rumor affected by rumor refuting on online social platforms, we propose the Susceptible-Infective-Remover-Debunker-Remover (SIRDR) model to describe the propagation dynamics of rumor and rumor refutation. To conform closely to the actual scenarios of rumor dissemination, we consider a refined division of the population involved in propagation and introduce an information exposure attractiveness index and forgetting mechanisms to characterize individual spreading behavior. We then investigate the extent to which the suppression of rumor dissemination by refuting rumors at different spreading stages. The proposed model is validated by the analysis of real datasets collected from Sina Weibo and Twitter. The R-squared values of data 1 are 0.947 and 0.985, the R-squared values of data 2 are 0.993 and 0.976, while the R-squared values of data 3 are 0.948 and 0.956, indicating that our model is very consistent with the real rumor propagation process. Especially, we find out that the suppression effect of rumor refutation on rumor propagation varies greatly with its release time. Our work may offer theoretical support for rumors governance in cyberspace.

Collaborative filtering algorithm is widely used in the recommendation system of e-commerce website, which is based on the analysis of a large number of users' historical behaviour data, so as to explore the users' interest and recommend the appropriate products to users. In this paper, we focus on how to design a reliable and highly accurate algorithm for movie recommendation. It is worth noting that the algorithm is not limited to film recommendation, but can be applied in many other areas of e-commerce. In this paper, we use Java language to implement a movie recommendation system in Ubuntu system. Benefiting from the MapReduce framework and the recommendation algorithm based on items, the system can handle large datasets. The experimental results show that the system can achieve high efficiency and reliability in large datasets. © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

With the gradual popularization of self-driving, it is becoming increasingly important for vehicles to smartly make the right driving decisions and autonomously obey traffic rules by correctly recognizing traffic signs. However, for machine learning-based traffic sign recognition on the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), a large amount of traffic sign data from distributed vehicles is needed to be gathered in a centralized server for model training, which brings serious privacy leakage risk because of traffic sign data containing lots of location privacy information. To address this issue, we first exploit privacy-preserving federated learning to perform collaborative training for accurate recognition models without sharing raw traffic sign data. Nevertheless, due to the limited computing and energy resources of most devices, it is hard for vehicles to continuously undertake complex artificial intelligence tasks. Therefore, we introduce powerful Spike Neural networks (SNNs) into traffic sign recognition for energy-efficient and fast model training, which is the next generation of neural networks and is practical and well-fitted to IoV scenarios. Furthermore, we design a novel encoding scheme for SNNs based on neuron receptive fields to extract information from the pixel and spatial dimensions of traffic signs to achieve high-accuracy training. Numerical results indicate that the proposed federated SNN outperforms traditional federated convolutional neural networks in terms of accuracy, noise immunity, and energy efficiency as well. The widespread adoption of emerging technologies, such as interconnected sensors and advanced automation systems, has led to rapid advancements in smart industrial environments. While industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPSs) bring efficiency and innovation to industrial processes, the security risks are also of great concern. The existing work provides many methods for data security and authentication for ICPSs. However, since the authentication status of ICPSs is changeable, the up-to-date methods can hardly meet the requirements for rapid authentication and secure data transmission. What’s more, largescale message revocation incurs significant communication and computational costs. This paper proposes a blockchain-assisted identity-based puncturable signcryption (BC-IBPSC) scheme for cloud and fog-hosted ICPSs. First, based on the concepts of puncturable encryption and signature, a novel identity-based puncturable signcryption method is presented to achieve efficient verifiable data encryption. Second, the blockchain is utilized to record all valid and punctured messages, to achieve evidence storage and traceability. The results of the analysis indicate that the scheme ensures security and operates efficiently. In addition, experiments show that the size of the signcrypted files does not affect the value of Gas consumption on the blockchain when uploading proofs. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.
