The Internet of Things(IoTs)has become an essential component of the 5th Generation(5G)network and beyond,accelerating the transition to digital *** increasing signaling traffic generated by billions of IoT devices has placed significant strain on the 5G Core network(5GC)control *** address this issue,the 3rd Gener-ation Partnership Project(3GPP)first proposed a Service-Based architecture(SBA),intending to create a flexible,scalable,and agile cloud-native ***,considering the coupling of protocol states and functions,there are still many challenges to fully utilize the benefits of the cloud computing and orchestrate the 5GC in a cloud-native *** propose a Message-Level StateLess Design(ML-SLD)to provide a cloud-native 5GC from an architectural standpoint in this ***,we propose an innovative mechanism for servitization of the N2 interface to maintain the connection between Radio Access network(RAN)and the 5GC,avoiding interruptions and dropouts of large-scale user ***,we propose an On-demand Message Forwarding(OMF)al-gorithm to reduce the impact of cloud fluctuations on the performance of cloud-native ***,we create a prototype that is based on the OpenAirInterface(OAI)5G core network projects,with all network Functions(NFs)packaged in dockers and deployed in a kubernetes-based cloud *** experiments have been built with UERANSIM and Chaosblade simulation *** findings demonstrate the viability and efficiency of our proposed methods.

With the development of integrated sensing, communication and computation (ISCC), wireless sensing technology is turning a WiFi device into a special sensor. Specifically, the current research focuses on extending the inherent communication attributes of ubiquitous WiFi signals to achieve indoor position tracking. However, previous works based on geometric positioning like triangulation are limited by the number of antennas and bandwidth, and can only achieve decimeter-level positioning accuracy. To this end, we present WiFineTrack, enabling fine-grained position tracking based on Channel State Information (CSI). Instead of representing the continuous absolute positions directly, WiFineTrack first characterizes the relative motion traces by mapping the target's movements in relation to its prior position. Then the model correlates the angle-based triangulation with the derived relative motion traces to reconstruct the absolute motion traces. Thus, the model shifts the tracking task from traditional absolute geometry to relative length variation. WiFineTrack designs an elaborate denoising framework for tracking refinement, including phase correcting based on the bidirectional transmission mechanism and accumulated error suppression based on the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). We implement WiFineTrack using off-the-shelf WiFi devices, and empirical results show that WiFineTrack can achieve an accuracy of 10.45 cm under diverse environment conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

With the advancement of technology, the application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in emergency communications and disaster response have received widespread attention, especially in emergency situations such as natural disasters where traditional communication cannot transmit information in a timely and effective manner. This paper investigates the auxiliary communication of UAVs to ground equipment in disaster response scenarios, focusing particularly on the problem of optimizing UAV trajectories to minimize the Age of Information (AoI). We propose a multi-agent control trajectory and communication algorithm (MACTC) to improve learning efficiency and performance, addressing the dual challenges of information timeliness and energy consumption in drone networks. The study demonstrates that optimizing UAV service allocation and trajectory design can significantly reduce the AoI and save energy. Simulation results show that, compared to existing algorithms, MACTC offers significant advantages in reducing AoI and energy consumption, providing an effective solution for UAV network performance optimization. © 2024 IEEE.

Off-Grid Compressed Channel Estimation with Parallel Interference Cancellation for Millimeter Wave Massive MIMO

Millimeter wave(mmWave)massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)plays an important role in the fifth-generation(5G)mobile communications and beyond wireless communication systems owing to its potential of high ***,channel estimation has become very challenging due to the use of massive MIMO antenna ***,the mmWave channel has strong sparsity in the spatial angle domain,and the compressed sensing technology can be used to convert the original channel matrix into the sparse matrix of discrete angle *** the high-dimensional channel matrix estimation is transformed into a sparse recovery problem with greatly reduced computational ***,the path angle in the actual scene appears randomly and is unlikely to be completely located on the quantization angle grid,thus leading to the problem of power ***,multiple paths with the random distribution of angles will bring about serious interpath interference and further deteriorate the performance of channel *** address these off-grid issues,we propose a parallel interference cancellation assisted multi-grid matching pursuit(PIC-MGMP)algorithm in this *** proposed algorithm consists of three stages,including coarse estimation,refined estimation,and inter-path cyclic iterative inter-ference *** specifically,the angular resolution can be improved by locally refining the grid to reduce power leakage,while the inter-path interference is eliminated by parallel interference cancellation(PIC),and the two together improve the estimation *** results show that compared with the traditional orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP)algorithm,the normalized mean square error(NMSE)of the proposed algorithm decreases by over 14dB in the case of 2 paths.

TSN implements time synchronization through IEEE 802.1AS protocol, and the performance of time synchronization is related to the frequency accuracy and stability of each TSN clock. However, the problems of clock drift and timestamp granularity error (TSGE) will degrade the network time synchronization performance. This paper analyzes the causes of time errors caused by network time synchronization, and puts forward the overall scheme to improve the performance of time synchronization. An intelligent compensation algorithm for clock drift is designed, which includes measuring node clock correlation data, training neural network, using neural network to make prediction and compensating time stamp. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is stable and accurate in time synchronization. © 2024 IEEE.

Resource management in 5G/WiFi coexisting millimeter wave networks is the key to support the high throughput demand in hotspots. A joint multi-dimensional resource allocation algorithm based on block coordinate descent is proposed in this paper, where the original throughput maximization problem is divided into three sub-problems, i.e., user association, beamforming design as well as spectrum allocation, and solved iteratively. Specifically, the method of matching exchange and generalized Rayleigh quotient are used for optimizing user association and digital beamforming, respectively. The simulation verifies that the algorithm achieves better performance in terms of the uplink throughput in 5G/WiFi coexisting networks. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Millimeter-Wave (mmWave) communication based on massive MIMO and beamforming has become a hotspot owing to its advantage on capacity. However, a rapidly varying mm Wave channel in high mobility scenario will lead to frequent beam switching and high signaling overhead. Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) gives a new idea to the above challenges by using radar sensing to assist beam management. Nevertheless, most of the sensing -assisted beam tracking are limited to the scenario where Line-of-Sight (LOS) paths exist, and fail when a blockage occurs. To address this issue, a beam tracking scheme based on multi-point radar sensing and Deep Neural network (DNN) is proposed in this paper, where the sensing information from multiple radars are aggregated and a DNN is utilized to predict the beam direction by learning the channel nonlinear correlation in a specific environment. The simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme operates effectively in blockage scenario, and surpasses the baselines in the field of spectral efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

The need for precise timing is increasing with the development of the smart city, and intelligent transport is a key application that often relies on the distribution of accurate timing. Existing time synchronization solutions cannot adequately meet the precise timing needs for practical applications in intelligent transportation. Global Navigation Satellite systems (GNSS) signals, for instance, can be obstructed, weakened, or deflected in urban canyon environments. While certain sectors like telecommunications and smart grids have successfully adopted IEEE 1588 for high-precision time synchronization, its dependence on standalone networks and limited application within local area networks poses challenges when catering to the wide-ranging and mobile demands of intelligent transportation applications. This paper categorizes the time synchronization requirements of intelligent transport and proposes a time synchronization scheme over converged networks, which separates time transmission and precision compensation based on software-defined networking (SDN) principles, and makes it possible to provide precise timing for intelligent transport devices, including on-board units (OBUs) and roadside units (RSUs), over wired and wireless communication networks. Experimental results indicate that the proposed scheme achieves a relative time error of less than 1.2 microseconds over the converged networks. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper studies a multi-user integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system with delay alignment modulation (DAM) in the near-field. We aim to optimize multi-path hybrid beamforming so as to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the target echo while ensuring communication users' signal-to-interference plus-noise ratio (SINR) requirements and transmit power budget. To this end, we propose an alternating optimization algorithm using successive convex approximation (SCA) technology, penalty convex-concave procedure (PCCP) and second-order cone programming (SOCP). Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and show the impact of channel model mismatch and the distance dimension introduced by the near-field model on the near-field DAM-ISAC system. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of 5th Generation Mobile Communication Technology (5G), the increased bandwidth not only bolsters communication efficiency but also paves the way for high-precision location-based services within these industrial applications. Positioning by using a single base station (BS) possesses potential vital values in scenarios that multiple BSs are not applicable, such as unmanned aerial vehicle assisted emergency communication scenarios, dynamic and temporary industrial 5G scenarios, etc. However, due to a lack of observed measurements from different base stations, the high accurate and stable positioning by using a single BS faces challenges. To address this problem, this paper introduces a novel approach utilizing the open-source 5G platform OpenAirInterface (OAI) to design application programming interfaces (APIs) for accessing low layer data. By extracting data directly from actual protocol stacks, we have developed a multidimensional data fusion localization system based on Vision Transformer (ViT) in a single-BS mode named FLIT. Conducted within an office setting, our experiments spanned a 100MHz bandwidth, culminating in a system capable of achieving an average positioning error of just 6.9cm, with 90% of measurements within a 9cm error margin and 80% within 5.3cm, thus attaining centimeter-level accuracy in positioning. © 2024 IEEE.
