Network slicing plays a pivotal role in 5 G and next-generation communication systems to support diversified service requirements. This paper investigates bandwidth allocation in a multi-base station, multi-user network where users probabilistically request network slicing services. We formulate a dynamic resource optimization problem to maximize user satisfaction, accounting for stochastic service demands and heterogeneous quality-of-service requirements. An Adaptive Hierarchical Dueling Deep Q-Network (AH-Dueling DQN) algorithm is proposed to address the NP-hard mixed-integer programming nature of this problem, leveraging deep reinforcement learning to handle high-dimensional state-action spaces. Simulation results demonstrate the algorithm’s effectiveness in reducing users’ latency while improving the throughput.

Detecting surface defects in carbon fiber-reinforced composites (FRCs) during prepreg stacking is crucial for ensuring product quality. Traditional methods using horizontal bounding boxes (HBBs) for defect detection often lead to overlapping boxes and inaccurate results. This paper proposes an Aspect-Ratio and Scale Aware Detector network (ARSADet) specifically designed for rotated defect detection in FRCs. The network incorporates a Gabor convolutional network for feature extraction, an aspect-ratio and scale-aware label assignment method, and a newly established FRCs Oriented Defect Detection dataset (FODD). Evaluation on the FODD dataset demonstrates superior performance compared to existing methods.

The surge in urbanization and ensuing traffic congestion underscores the imperative for contemporary traffic flow control models. This paper explores the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards (LWR) theory in the macroscopic domain of traffic flow control. It evaluates the accuracy and mathematical logic of simulation performance of related models, namely Greenshields, Newell-Daganzo, Greenberg, Underwood, and California. This paper employs thorough simulations that utilize a holistic three-dimensional(3D) analysis based on time, location, and density. It provides a comprehensive comparison and discusses specific features of each model. Additionally, a modification to the macroscopic model is proposed. The modified model overcomes the shortcomings of performing well only in some specific short ranges and achieves a full range of application effects. The study offers valuable guidance for real-life scenario selections and applications in the traffic domain.

Active magnetic bearings (AMBs) have many advantages over traditional oil bearings due to their non-contact characteristics. They are environmentally friendly solution and have been proven to be highly reliable and available. Electromagnetic coils are vital components of AMB and they are failure prone. In this paper, the failure mode of magnetic bearing coil and its corresponding failure mechanism are reviewed by FMMEA method, and the existing coil fault diagnosis methods are introduced. Future directions for coil insulation health monitoring aiming at the application characteristics of AMBs are also discussed.

In the spectral analysis of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy,abundant characteristic spectral lines and severe interference information exist simultaneously in the original spectral ***,a feature selection method called recursive feature elimination based on ridge regression(Ridge-RFE)for the original spectral data is recommended to make full use of the valid information of *** the Ridge-RFE method,the absolute value of the ridge regression coefficient was used as a criterion to screen spectral characteristic,the feature with the absolute value of minimum weight in the input subset features was removed by recursive feature elimination(RFE),and the selected features were used as inputs of the partial least squares regression(PLS)*** Ridge-RFE method based PLS model was used to measure the Fe,Si,Mg,Cu,Zn and Mn for 51 aluminum alloy samples,and the results showed that the root mean square error of prediction decreased greatly compared to the PLS model with full spectrum as *** overall results demonstrate that the Ridge-RFE method is more efficient to extract the redundant features,make PLS model for better quantitative analysis results and improve model generalization ability.
