Intellicise communication system: model-driven semantic communications

As one of the critical technologies for the 6 th generation mobile communication system(6 G) mobile communication systems, artificial intelligence(AI) technology will provide complete automation for connecting the virtual and physical worlds. In order to construct the future ubiquitous intelligent network, people are beginning to rethink how mobile communication systems transmit and exploit intelligent information. This paper proposes a new communication paradigm, called the Intellicise communication system: model-driven semantic communication. Intellicise communication system is built on top of the traditional communication system and innovatively adds a new feature dimension on top of the traditional source coding, which enables the communication system to evolve from the traditional transmission of bit to the transmission of "model". Like the semantic base(Seb) for semantic communication, the model is considered as the new feature obtained from the joint source-channel coding. The sink node can re-construct the original signal based on the received model and the encoded sequence. In addition, the performance evaluation metrics and the implementation details of the Intellicise communication system are discussed in this paper. Finally, preliminary results of model-driven image transmission in the Intellicise communication system are presented.

In time-division duplex (TDD) systems, where uplink and downlink channels alternate during transmission process, the continuity of carrier phase measurements becomes challenging to maintain. This leads to periodic lock-loss in the phase-locked loop (PLL), rendering the integer ambiguity non-constant. To address this issue, a carrier phase-based localization method for TDD systems via extended Kalman filtering is proposed in this study. The proposed method modifies the one-step predicted state within each TDD cycle based on extended Kalman filtering (EKF) to overcome the effects of PLL lock-loss in TDD. Simulation results verificate that the proposed method can overcome the problem of discontinuous measurement in TDD system, accurately solve integer ambiguities and achieve high-precision positioning. © 2024 IEEE.

Relying on the powerful communication capabilities and rapidly changing geometric configuration, the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites have the potential to offer integrated communication and navigation (ICAN) services. However, the isolated resource utilization in the traditional satellite communication and navigation systems has led to a compromised system performance. Against this backdrop, this paper formulates a joint beamforming design and satellite selection optimization problem for the LEO-ICAN network to maximize the sum rate, while simultaneously reconciling the positioning performance. A two-layer algorithm is proposed, where the beamforming design in the inner layer is solved by the difference-of-convex programming method to maximize the sum rate, and the satellite selection in the outer layer is modeled as a coalition formation game to simultaneously reconcile the positioning performance. Simulation results verify the superiority of our proposed algorithms by increasing the sum rate by 16.6% and 29.3% compared with the conventional beamforming and satellite selection schemes, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Novel quantum circuit implementation of Advanced Encryption Standard with low costs

In this study, we examine how the quantum circuit of the Advanced Encryption Standard(AES) can be optimized from two aspects, i.e., number of qubits and T-depth. To reduce the number of qubits, we present three kinds of improved quantum circuits of S-box for different phases in the AES. We found that the number of qubits in the round function can be decreased by introducing the circuit sending |a> to |S(a)>. As a result, compared with the previous quantum circuits where 400/640/768 qubits are required,our circuits of AES-128/-192/-256 only require 270/334/398 qubits. To reduce the T-depth, we propose a new circuit of AES's S-box with a T-depth of 4. Accordingly, the T-depth of our AES-128/-192/-256 quantum circuits become 80/80/84 instead of120/120/126 in a previous study.

The real-time control capability of IoT devices is contingent upon the transmission of packets. However, due to the influence of multiple devices accessing the network, the bandwidth available to IoT devices from access points may decline significantly, which causes a surge in the queuing latency and interrupts the transmission. This phenomenon is referred to as transient congestion. To achieve stable high-quality network service, this paper designs RushWay, a QUIC-enabled framework for alleviating transient congestion. RushWay employs stream multiplexing to compress the original packet into the stream frame, thereby reducing the bandwidth required for transmission. Furthermore, RushWay employs an adaptive decision-making algorithm to assess uplink queue conditions and packet latency requirements, thereby alleviating transient congestion. The simulation results demonstrate that RushWay can improve key performance by 13% to 94%. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). Publication rights licensed to ACM.

Electronic voting can improve the efficiency, accuracy and fairness of voting, and save resources and costs. However, the identity privacy of voters may not be effectively protected during the counting process of third-party electronic voting. In order to solve the problems of transparency and identity privacy protection in electronic voting, this paper combines pseudonym mechanism and digital signature technology to propose a privacy protection scheme for double signature electronic voting based on Consortium blockchain. By introducing the Consortium Blockchain, the voting ciphertext is published on the Blockchain to realize the transparency of electronic voting and ensure the security of the voting;the introduction of the pseudonym mechanism can effectively protect the identity privacy of voters;the use of homomorphic encryption technology to realize ciphertext vote counting, it can effectively resist the internal attack of electronic voting;through double signature, that is, to sign the voting ciphertext and pseudonym to ensure the identity of the voter and the legitimacy of the vote. At the same time, a scoring mechanism is introduced to achieve more precise evaluation of candidates by voters, and the Bulletproof protocol is used to standardize the range of score. The electronic voting privacy protection scheme proposed in this paper can also satisfy multi-candidate voting and is applicable to various voting scenarios. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In crowdsourced federated learning,differential privacy is commonly used to prevent the aggregation server from recovering training data from the models uploaded by clients to achieve privacy ***,improper privacy budget settings and perturbation methods will severely impact model *** order to achieve a harmonious equilibrium between privacy preservation and model performance,we propose a novel architecture for crowdsourced federated learning with personalized privacy *** our architecture,to avoid the issue of poor model performance due to excessive privacy preservation requirements,we establish a two-stage dynamic game between the task requestor and clients to formulate the optimal privacy preservation strategy,allowing each client to independently control privacy preservation ***,we design a differential privacy perturbation mechanism based on weight *** divides the weights based on their relevance with local data,applying different levels of perturbation to different types of ***,we conduct experiments on the proposed perturbation mechanism,and the experimental results indicate that our approach can achieve better global model performance with the same privacy budget.

Millimeter wave with large bandwidth,high transmission rate,and low delay is considered a reliable alternative to cope with the spectrum ***,the fast attenuation and narrow beam characteristics make it difficult to achieve long-distance or wide-range ***,a 1-bit dual-band reflective reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)for signal enhancement in millimeter wave with 16×16 elements is designed,fabricated,and *** from most existent RIS,dynamic programming is realized at two separate frequency bands by integrating the PIN diodes and field-programmable gate array(FPGA).Particularly,the beam deflection,dual-beam,and multi-beam are created based on the coding theory and convolution operation,proving the effectiveness of wavefront ***,the far-field patterns and signal power with different coding sequences are measured and *** is indicated that the received signal power is 6–7 dB stronger than that without coding,which shows good agreement with the desired *** proposed reconfigurable metasurface exhibits great potential in beam forming,making it a promising candidate for progressive wireless communication applications.

Network Configuration Entity Extraction Method Based on Transformer with Multi-Head Attention Mechanism

Nowadays,ensuring thequality of networkserviceshas become increasingly *** are turning toknowledge graph technology,with a significant emphasis on entity extraction in the identification of device *** research paper presents a novel entity extraction method that leverages a combination of active learning and attention ***,an improved active learning approach is employed to select the most valuable unlabeled samples,which are subsequently submitted for expert *** approach successfully addresses the problems of isolated points and sample redundancy within the network configuration sample *** the labeled samples are utilized to train the model for network configuration entity ***,the multi-head self-attention of the transformer model is enhanced by introducing the Adaptive Weighting method based on the Laplace mixture *** enhancement enables the transformer model to dynamically adapt its focus to words in various positions,displaying exceptional adaptability to abnormal data and further elevating the accuracy of the proposed *** comparisons with Random Sampling(RANDOM),Maximum Normalized Log-Probability(MNLP),Least Confidence(LC),Token Entrop(TE),and Entropy Query by Bagging(EQB),the proposed method,Entropy Query by Bagging and Maximum Influence Active Learning(EQBMIAL),achieves comparable performance with only 40% of the samples on both datasets,while other algorithms require 50% of the ***,the entity extraction algorithm with the Adaptive Weighted Multi-head Attention mechanism(AW-MHA)is compared with BILSTM-CRF,Mutil_Attention-Bilstm-Crf,Deep_Neural_Model_NER and BERT_Transformer,achieving precision rates of 75.98% and 98.32% on the two datasets,*** tests demonstrate the statistical significance and effectiveness of the proposed algorithms in this paper.

Graph Attention Residual Network Based Routing and Fault-Tolerant Scheduling Mechanism for Data Flow in Power Communication Network

For permanent faults(PF)in the power communication network(PCN),such as link interruptions,the timesensitive networking(TSN)relied on by PCN,typically employs spatial redundancy fault-tolerance methods to keep service stability and reliability,which often limits TSN scheduling performance in fault-free ideal *** this paper proposes a graph attention residual network-based routing and fault-tolerant scheduling mechanism(GRFS)for data flow in PCN,which specifically includes a communication system architecture for integrated terminals based on a cyclic queuing and forwarding(CQF)model and fault recovery method,which reduces the impact of faults by simplified scheduling configurations of CQF and fault-tolerance of prioritizing the rerouting of faulty time-sensitive(TS)flows;considering that PF leading to changes in network topology is more appropriately solved by doing routing and time slot injection decisions hop-by-hop,and that reasonable network load can reduce the damage caused by PF and reserve resources for the rerouting of faulty TS flows,an optimization model for joint routing and scheduling is constructed with scheduling success rate as the objective,and with traffic latency and network load as constraints;to catch changes in TSN topology and traffic load,a D3QN algorithm based on a multi-head graph attention residual network(MGAR)is designed to solve the problem model,where the MGAR based encoder reconstructs the TSN status into feature embedding vectors,and a dueling network decoder performs decoding tasks on the reconstructed feature embedding *** results show that GRFS outperforms heuristic fault-tolerance algorithms and other benchmark schemes by approximately 10%in routing and scheduling success rate in ideal states and 5%in rerouting and rescheduling success rate in fault states.
