The electromagnetic method is widely utilized for downhole detection, significantly enhancing the safety and efficiency of oil and gas production due to its sensitivity to resistivity and its capability for non-destructive testing. However, due to the narrow space within the downhole, the azimuthal resolution of downhole detection is not ideal. Based on the finite element method, this paper achieved the forward simulation of magnetic field distribution in three-dimensional wellbore electromagnetic detection. Various structures of the transmitting coil in electromagnetic detection tools were studied and compared, and the impact of the structure of the transmitting coils on their circumferential magnetic field distribution was analyzed. The simulation and analysis results offer valuable insights for accurately and effectively designing the transmitting coils to improve their azimuth resolution. © 2024 IEEE.

To address the problem of vibration and noise caused by high slot torque of stacked-in permanent magnet synchronous motor, a motor model with a rectangular slot in the stator and curved slot in the rotor is proposed to analyze the variation of slot torque with the auxiliary slot parameter based on the analysis of slot torque, taking an 8-pole 36-slot built-in permanent magnet synchronous motor as an example. The modeling results display that the slot torque reduces and then increases with the change of incomplete groove parameters. The slot torque is weakened by 92.01% when the stator with a rectangular slot rotor with a curved slot. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A compact and highly sensitive gas pressure and temperature sensor based on Fabry-Pérot interferometer(FPI) and fiber Bragg grating(FBG) is proposed and demonstrated experimentally in this paper. The theoretical model for pressure and temperature sensing is established. Building on this foundation, a novel micro silicon cavity sensor structure sensitive to pressure is devised downstream of an FBG. The concept of separate measurement and the mechanisms enhancing pressure sensitivity are meticulously analyzed, and the corresponding samples are fabricated. The experimental results indicate that the pressure sensitivity of the sensor is -747.849 nm/MPa in 0—100 k Pa and its linearity is 99.7% and it maintains good stability in 150 min. The sensor offers the advantages of compact size, robust construction, easy fabrication, and high sensitivity, making it potentially valuable for micro-pressure application.

The real-time measurement of downhole parameters of electric submersible pumps through supporting systems can monitor the production performance of oil wells and the status of electric pumps in real time, helping operators to take appropriate regulatory measures to achieve the best production results. The downhole temperature and pressure measurement system for electric submersible pump is designed based on the research on the measurement technology of downhole parameters. The system uses ground simulation star point technology to power underground circuits and current loop technology for data transmission. The system mainly includes temperature and pressure sensors, power modules, measurement circuits, filter circuits, and channel switching circuits. The work and key technologies of each functional module of the system are analyzed. The simulation test results of the downhole measurement system in the laboratory show that the system can collect downhole temperature and pressure parameters in real time, and achieve the processing of downhole temperature and pressure signals with the cooperation of the surface system. At the same time, the system can effectively suppress interference, operate stably, and meet the requirements of on-site testing and application. © 2023 IEEE.

The constant power thermal mass flow meter measurement method is a very important reference for the measurement of parameters related to low fluid production wells. This paper presents an idea for the design of a constant power- based oil and water two-phase flow measurement for measuring the flow of tiny liquid flows. Experimental practice to test the flow detection characteristics of the designed constant power flow meter. The results show that this constant power thermal flow meter has good sensitivity for stable low flow measurements with a small relative error. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of transporting crude oil, especially heavy oil, in submarine pipelines, hydrate formation, wax precipitation and viscosity increase often occur due to the decrease of temperature, which directly affects oil and gas transportation and may seriously lead to pipeline blockage and production of oil and gas fields. In order to maintain the temperature in the pipeline during production operation and shutdown, it is usually necessary to take insulation measures for the submarine pipeline. However, during the operation of the equipment, corrosion under the thermal insulation layer often occurs, and even leakage accidents may occur in serious cases, seriously threatening the safe and stable operation of the device. Therefore, we use the transient electromagnetic method to detect the corrosion of the pipeline under the thermal insulation layer. However, pipeline insulation is usually heated by an electric tracing system to maintain the temperature of the pipeline surface. Since the tracing core is made of metal material, the electric tracing system always exists in the detection process, which will affect the detection signal of pulsed eddy current pipeline and affect the detection performance of the detection system for pipeline corrosion detection under the thermal insulation layer. In order to solve this problem, a method of pipeline corrosion detection under thermal insulation with trace wire is proposed in this paper. By establishing the corrosion detection model of the pipeline under the insulation layer with heat trace wire, the influence of trace wire on the detection system is compared and analyzed, and the winding direction and winding position of trace wire can be clearly identified, which provides a basis for further analysis of the pipeline situation. © 2024 SPIE.

The development of oil field needs to grasp the information of underground mining and water injection in real time, and the permanent underground communication system can solve this problem well. How to solve the impact of noise in the communication process. Because the filter can reduce noise, eliminate aliasing, reduce the ripple coefficient of output voltage and smooth the waveform, it has a good effect on noise suppression. By connecting the filter to the power module, this paper analyzes the characteristics and causes of the noise, studies the methods to suppress the noise, and improves and stabilizes the quality of realistic communication. The experimental results show that the noise attenuation is obvious when the filter is added to the system, and the noise generated in the communication of the permanent underground communication system is effectively suppressed. © 2024 SPIE.

The intelligent stratified injection and production technology is one of the effective means to improve oil recovery. For the permanent stratified injection and production measurement and control system, a wide input range of downhole high temperature power module is designed to realize long-term reliable and low ripple power logging operations. First of all, the module adopts a high-frequency and efficient single-stage Buck converter and effective control mode to meet the wide input voltage and the stability of the power supply in the full load range. When the input range is 6-150V, the maximum output of 5V and 3A can be reached, and the ripple is less than 50mV. Secondly, replace the collocation of the peripheral circuit, get 3.3V, 12V output, the ripple meets the corresponding requirements, and the power supply has the ability to work for a long time at high temperature. Finally, through the design of the prototype, it meets the requirements of various indicators, and verifies the practicability and correctness of the power module. © 2024 SPIE.

Existing phase holdup measurement methods are mainly based on contact measurement, and long-term monitoring is easily affected by strong downhole interference environment. In order to solve this problem, a non-contact thermal oil-water two-phase flow phase holdup measurement method is proposed in this paper. The thermal conduction downhole oil-water two-phase flow holdup measurement model based on graphene electric heating belt is established using fluent, and the phase distribution characteristics of oil-water two-phase flow with different moisture contents at low flow rates are analyzed. The results show that the non-contact thermal flowmeter can realize the measurement of low flow rate fluid phase holdup, which lays a foundation for the measurement of two-phase flow holdup and production logging. © 2024 SPIE.
