Research on the Discharge Properties of the Direct Carbon Fuel Cell with a Molten Metal Anode

In order to research the discharge properties of the direct carbon fuel cell (DCFC) with a molten metal anode, the experimental system with a reactor is designed and constructed. The reaction mechanisms at both anode and cathode are analyzed. The molten Sn and Sb are used as the anodic material for comparison. The cell performance of DCFC is tested before and after discharging in the battery mode and the carbon fuel mode, respectively. In the battery mode, due to the different states of metallic oxides, the current density is not degraded after discharging with the molten Sb anode, but sharply decreases with the molten Sn anode. On the contrary, the cell performance with Sb is much worse than that with Sn after discharging in the carbon fuel mode, which is result from the volatility of Sb together with the reduction of its oxide. The above studies will help to thoroughly understand the underlying mechanism of DCFC with a molten metal anode.

This study describes firefly algorithm (FA) to solve optimal power flow (OPF) control with satisfying various operational constraints. Due to firefly algorithm is easy to convergence prematurely and has the inferior solving skills, thus, modified firefly algorithm (MFA) is formed by combining the dimensional-based approach with levy flight, which is incorporated in original FA. The proposed MFA approach is implemented on IEEE 30-bus system for solving optimal power flow control. Besides, the results obtained by the MFA algorithm are comparable with those of FA and PSO. The numerical results demonstrate the capabilities of the MFA algorithm to generate true and well-distributed solutions of the OPF control. The simulation results also show that the MFA produces better quality of the solutions than other algorithms. This learning can be more beneficial to the further research of optimal power flow control.

Study on the Wet Oxidation of an Industrial High Concentration Caprolactam Organic Wastewater

In this study, wet oxidation of an industrial high concentration caprolactam organic wastewater using oxygen gas as an oxidant was investigated. Different experiments were conducted to discuss the effects of the reaction temperature, time, the initial oxygen pressure and dilution ration of raw wastewater, using a batch reactor with COD removal rate as a standard for assessing. Results show that the highest removal rate of COD, 76.6%, was obtained at 250 °C for 30 min with the oxygen pressure 1.7 MPa and dilution ration 10. The biodegradability of the wastewater improved greatly after the wet oxidation process. These results illustrated that wet oxidation with oxygen gas as an oxidant displayed effectively for the pretreatment of high concentration caprolactam organic wastewater.

Narrowband active noise control (ANC, NANC) systems provide excellent performance in suppressing the annoying noise signals generated by rotating machines, which may be modeled as sinusoidal signals in additive noise. In realworld applications, two important issues including secondary path modeling (SPM) and frequency mismatch (FM), namely, the error of the nonacoustic timing signal sensor, need to be addressed by the NANC system in order to achieve sufficient noise reduction. In this paper, a new robust NANC system is proposed which contains three subsystems, namely: 1) an online secondary-path modeling subsystem designed to track the time-varying secondary path, 2) an FM compensation subsystem providing modified frequencies to every ANC channel, and 3) a cost reduction subsystem where only two x-filtering blocks are placed regardless of the number of the targeted frequencies. The three subsystems are seamlessly integrated such that the entire NANC system enjoys great advantages in both noise reduction and computational efficiency. Simulation results as well as application to real noise are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness and capabilities as well as robustness of our proposed system.

Electron beam melting (EBM) is three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies that can manufacture multi-functional porous scaffolds with exact structures for the application of surgical operations. In the past decade, thousands of acetabular implants manufactured by EBM or SLM have been designed into acetabular cups with certain porosity for surgical operations. Particles of 3D printed porous Ti6Al4V implants will adhere between sintered interface and non-sintered interface of porous sample during 3D printing. However, the internal excess particles of complex structural parts are difficult to remove. During long-term cyclic loading, stress strain can cause residual Ti6Al4V particles to fall off. These detached Ti6Al4V particles are scattered around the implant and are contact with osteoblasts. In our study, we detected the influence of the differentiation concentration of Ti6Al4V particles on bone of rats. The influence of the differentiation concentration of Ti6Al4V particles on bone was evaluated by distal femoral defects in rats. Micro-CT and biochemical analysis were used to evaluate all of the rats after 12 weeks. Outcomes demonstrated that low concentration Ti6Al4V particles may improve the osteogenesis of SD rat through micro-CT. Serum markers implied that the differentiation concentration of Ti6Al4V particles didn't influence on hepatic and renal functions. In conclusion, Low-dose residual particle does not induce a decrease in bone mineral density (BMD) of rats.

Investigations on a Three-dimensional Model of the Moving-coil linear Motor Applied in the Space-borne Micro Compressor

In order to optimize the magnetic circuits of the linear motor applied in the space-borne pulse tube cryocooler, a three-dimensional magnetostatic field model of the moving-coil linear motor in the micro compressor is established. The effects of several key dimensions on the distributions of the magnetic flux density inside the air gap are simulated and discussed by finite element method. The simulated results show that the magnetic flux density decreases with the increase of both width and thickness of air gap. According to the analysis, it will greatly facilitate the design, fabrication and future practical applications of the micro moving-coil linear compressor.

Defect Assessment of 3000 M3 Sphere Storage Tank for Propylene

During the regular inspection of 3000 m3 sphere storage tank for propylene, 15 defects are detected, including 11 internal surface cracks and 4 embed cracks. One of the surface cracks can up to 80mm in length direction. For these defects, the integrity of sphere storage tank with defects is evaluated according to GB/T 19624-2004. To show the difference between the domestic standard and international standards, API 579 is also adopted to perform the Fitness-for-Service assessment. The safety margin is discussed.

The rheologicalbehaviors of fresh cement paste with polycarboxylate superplasticizer were systematically *** including superplasticizer to cement ratio（Sp/C）,water to cement ratio（w/c）,temperature,and time were *** cement pastes with Sp/Cs in the range of 0 to 2.0% and varied W/Cs from 0.25 to 0.5 were prepared and tested at 0,20 and 40 °C,*** and rheologicaltests on cement pastes were conducted to characterize the development of the rheologicalbehavior of fresh cement pastes over *** exprimentalresults indicate that the initialflowability and flowability retention over shelf time increase with the growth in superplasticizer dosage due to the plasticizing effect and retardation effect of *** temperature usually leads to a sharper drop in initialflowability and flowability ***,for the cement paste with high Sp/C or w/c,the flowability is slightly affected by *** stress and plastic viscosity show similar variation trends to the flowability under the abovementioned influentialfactors at low Sp/*** the case of high Sp/C,yield stress and plastic viscosity start to decline over shelf time and the decreasing rate descends at elevated ***,two equations to roughly predict yield stress and plastic viscosity of the fresh cement pastes incorporating Sp/C,w/c,temperature and time are developed on the basis of the existing models,in which experimentalconstants can be extracted from a database created by the rheologicaltest results.

How to recognize a batch of electronic thermometers reading is a key step in its qualified judgment. Using machine vision method to acquire the picture of batch electronic thermometers screen, adopt gray processing, edge detection and reclamation, gauss filter, precise edge localization, binarization processing and OCR recognition. Secondly obtaining the value of every electronic thermometer. For the purpose of calculating recognition accuracy, platinum resistance thermometer as standard temperature source. Finally, establishing a database to store critical history data during the experiment. Experiments show that this system has high recognition efficiency and high accuracy. The system provide a method to recognize a batch of electronic thermometers and solve its verify automation.
