Ionic liquids-assisted in-situ targeted defect-healing strategy for high-performance sprayed perovskite modules

In the process of spraying coating perovskite films,the"coffee ring"effect(CRE)leads to the problem of excessive organic ammonium salt accumulation in local areas that cannot be completely *** introduce an in-situ targeted defect-healing strategy by incorporating butylamine formate(BAFa)ionic liquid into the spray *** liquids,due to their long carbon chain structure,tend to target flow towards the CRE region during the droplet evaporation *** coordination between the lone pair electrons in the C=O group of BAFa and Pb^(2+)effectively reduces defects in perovskite and suppresses non-radiative recombination ***,amine ligands,which are repelled to the film surface and grain boundaries,form a thin insulating monolayer in the CRE areas,forcing charge carriers to transport through areas of the perovskite with fewer *** approach enables the crystallization control and defect-heal over the Cs_(0.19)FA_(0.81)PbI_(3-x-y)Br_(x)Cl_(y)perovskite ***,the champion perovskite solar cell achieved a power conversion efficiency of 22.04%,while mini-modules with an effective area of 64.8 cm^(2)reached a peak power conversion efficiency of 18.35%,demonstrating the significant potential for commercializing large-area perovskite solar cells.

H_(2)O_(2) treatment boosts activity of NiFe layered double hydroxide for electro-catalytic oxidation of urea

Urea oxidation reaction(UOR)provides a method for hydrogen production besides wastewater treatment,but the current limited catalytic activity has prevented the ***,we develop a novel H_(2)O_(2) treatment strategy for tailoring the surface oxygen ligand of NiFe-layered double hydroxides(NiFe-LDH).The sample after H_(2)O_(2) treatment(NiFeOLDH)shows significant enhancement on UOR efficiency,with the potential of 1.37 V(RHE)to reach a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2).The boost is attributed to the richness adsorption O ligand on NiFeO-LDH as revealed by XPS and Raman *** calculation indicates formation of two possible types of oxygen ligands:adsorbed oxygen on the surface and exposed from hydroxyl group,lowered the desorption energy of CO_(2) product,which lead to the lowered onset *** strategy is further extended to NiFe-LDH nano sheet on Ni foam to reach a higher current density of 440 mA/cm^(2) of UOR at 1.8 V(RHE).The facile surface O ligand manipulation is also expected to give chance to many other electro-catalytic oxidations.

Systemically angular and planar transport investigations are performed in layered antiferromagnetic(AF)V_(5)S_(8).In this AF system,obvious anomalous Hall effect(AHE)is observed with a large Hall angle of 0.1 compared to that in ferromagnetic(FM)*** can persist to the temperatures above AF transition and exhibit strong angular field *** phase diagram reveals various magnetic states by rotating the applied *** analyzing the anisotropic transport behavior,magnon contributions are revealed and exhibit obvious angular dependence with a spin-flop vanishing *** observed prominent planar Hall effect and anisotropic magnetoresisitivity exhibit two-fold systematical angular dependent *** behaviors are attributed to the scattering from spin–orbital coupling instead of nontrivial topological *** results reveal anisotropic interactions of magnetism and electron in V5S8,suggesting potential opportunities for the AF spintronic sensor and devices.

Improving efficiency of n–i–p perovskite solar cells enabled by 3-carboxyphenylboronic acid additive

In the past period of time, perovskite solar cells have gained tremendous developments in improving photovoltaic performance, but they still face severe challenges. Defects in perovskite layers, especially at grain boundaries, severely limit the stabilization and efficiency of solar cells. In this work, we adopt 3-carboxyphenylboronic acid(CPBA) for modifying defects in perovskite thin films. Through the interaction among the carboxyl group, boronic acid and lead ions in the perovskite film, the crystallization effect of the perovskite molecular is greatly optimized. Moreover, the film defects are spontaneously passivated and the band gap is reduced, increasing the open circuit voltage and fill factor. Therefore,power conversion efficiency has been increased from 17.25% to 20.20%. This discovery provides a potential strategy for passivating the trap states in perovskite and enhancing the properties of devices.

InSnZnO Thin-Film Transistors Coupled with Hydrophobic Polymer-Inorganic Hybrid Layer for Enhanced Pressure Sensing

In this work, we fabricated a multi-component precursor solution mainly composed of polyvinylidene fluoride, zinc oxide, and MXene. The resulting solution was then applied to the thin-film transistors (TFTs) with InSnZnO (ITZO) channels via a simple spin-coating process, forming a hydrophobic polymer-inorganic hybrid layer (PIHL) tailored for pressure sensing applications. The PIHL serves as a piezoelectric-charge-gating layer, modulating the TFT channel current in response to the applied pressure. The PIHL-coupled ITZO TFT device exhibits good electrical properties, including a saturation mobility of 18.16 cm2/V·s, a subthreshold swing of 110 mV/dec, and an on/off current ratio of 2.43 × 10. As the external pressure increases, the threshold voltage of the device shifts towards a higher positive gate voltage. Additionally, the device demonstrates a rapid response to external pressure, with a response time of 125 ms and a sensitivity up to 3.53 kPa-1. Consequently, this miniaturized TFT pressure sensor holds potential for applications in flexible touch screens, human-computer interaction, and electronic skin technologies. © 2025 IEEE.

Highly efficient through-space charge transfer TADF molecule employed in TADF-and TADF-sensitized organic light-emitting diodes

The inception and harnessing of excitons are paramount for the electroluminescence performance of organic light-emitting devices(OLEDs).Through-space charge transfer(TSCT)via intramolecular interaction has proved to be one of the most potent techniques employed to achieve 100% internal quantum ***,molecular strategies utilized to comprehensively enhance the electroluminescent performance of TSCT emitters regarding improving the photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)and elevating the light out-coupling efficiency remain *** surmount this challenge,we deliberately designed and synthesized a proof-of-concept TSCT emitter called CzO-TRZ by incorporating an extra carbazole donor into spiroheterocyclic *** introduction of rigid spiral fragments can immensely boost the horizontal orientation dipole ratio and establish an extra through-bond charge transfer(TBCT)radiative decay *** a result,a very high PLQY of 98.7%,fast kRISCof 2.2×10^(5)s^(-1)and high k_(r)^(s) of 2.2×10^(7)s^(-1),and an ultrahigh horizontal dipolar ratio of 90%were concurrently achieved for Cz O-TRZ blended ***,corresponding thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)-and TADF-sensitized fluorescence(TSF)-OLEDs based on CzO-TRZ demonstrated external quantum efficiencies(EQEs)of 33.4% and 30.3%,respectively,highlighting its versatile applications as both an emitter and sensitized host.

Solution sequential deposited organic photovoltaics:From morphology control to large-area modules

Organic optoelectronic materials enable cutting-edge,low-cost organic photodiodes,including organic solar cells(OSCs)for energy conversion and organic photodetectors(OPDs)for image *** bulk heterojunction(BHJ)structure,derived by blending donor and acceptor materials in a single solution,has dominated in the construction of active layer,but its morphological evolution during film formation poses a great challenge for obtaining an ideal nanoscale morphology to maximize exciton dissociation and minimize nongeminate *** sequential deposition(SSD)can deliver favorable p–i–n vertical component distribution with abundant donor/acceptor interfaces and relatively neat donor and acceptor phases near electrodes,making it highly promising for excellent device performance and long-term *** on the p–i–n structure,this review provides a systematic retrospect on regulating this morphology in SSD by summarizing solvent selection and additive *** methods have been successfully implemented to achieve well-defined morphology in ternary OSCs,all-polymer solar cells,and *** provide a practical perspective,comparative studies of device stability with BHJ and SSD film are also discussed,and we review influential progress in blade-coating techniques and large-area modules to shed light on industrial ***,challenging issues are out-lined for further research toward eventual commercialization.

Design of stable covalent organic frameworks for transport regulation of mass and energy

This feature article discusses the design of stable covalent organic frameworks(COFs) for the transport regulation of protons,electrons, and radicals. Transporting these particles through materials is essential for many applications, and porous materials with high surface area and porosity have become powerful platforms for their development. However, the stability of the holes in the material is crucial for adjusting the transmission performance, which may change significantly when the material is not stable enough, and the structure changes when it is in service in the environment. Various strategies have been adopted to improve the stability of COFs, including introducing strong electron-donating groups into the COFs and introducing irreversible reactions into the COF synthesis process. The transport regulation in stable COFs has been explored, and the structure-function relationship has been established. The prospects and challenges of COFs for the transport regulation of protons, electrons, and radicals have also been discussed. Overall, the breakthroughs in COF field have opened new possibilities for developing advanced materials with improved transport properties. The stable COFs have potential applications in energy storage, catalysis,and sensing. However, further research is needed to understand the transport properties of COFs fully and to optimize their performance for specific applications.

Humidity Sensor Based on a Hollow Core Fiber Anti-Resonant Reflection Optical Waveguide

In this paper,a graphene oxide(GO)composite film-coated humidity sensor is proposed based on the hollow core fiber(HCF).A segment of the HCF is spliced between two segments of the single-mode fiber(SMF).The relative humidity(RH)sensing characteristics of the sensor are experimentally investigated by observing the intensity shift of resonant dips in the transmission spectrum,which shows the GO composite film-coated HCF has the good stability in the measurement of *** maximum humidity sensitivity of 0.12 dB/%RH is obtained in the RH range of 30%–78%.The proposed sensor has the advantages of the simple structure,easy fabrication,good stability,and high performance,which can be applied to marine climate detection,tunnel air humidity detection,agricultural testing,and other fields.
