The employment of deep convolutional neural networks has recently contributed to significant progress in single image super-resolution(SISR)***,the high computational demands of most SR techniques hinder their applicability to edge devices,despite their satisfactory reconstruction *** methods commonly use standard convolutions,which increase the convolutional operation cost of the *** this paper,a lightweight Partial Separation and Multiscale Fusion Network(PSMFNet)is proposed to alleviate this ***,this paper introduces partial convolution(PConv),which reduces the redundant convolution operations throughout the model by separating some of the features of an image while retaining features useful for image ***,it is worth noting that the existing methods have not fully utilized the rich feature information,leading to information loss,which reduces the ability to learn feature *** by self-attention,this paper develops a multiscale feature fusion block(MFFB),which can better utilize the non-local features of an *** can learn long-range dependencies from the spatial dimension and extract features from the channel dimension,thereby obtaining more comprehensive and rich feature *** the role of the MFFB is to capture rich global features,this paper further introduces an efficient inverted residual block(EIRB)to supplement the local feature extraction ability of PSMFNet.A comprehensive analysis of the experimental results shows that PSMFNet maintains a better performance with fewer parameters than the state-of-the-art models.

Toward the recognition of spacecraft feature components:A new benchmark and a new model

Cascaded liquid crystal polarization grating (LCPG) structure is commonly used to realize two-dimension large angle optical beam steering. In this architecture, different LCPGs have different incident angles. As a liquid crystal half-wave plate (LC HWP) is placed in front of the LCPG to control steering direction, the different incident angles will affect the phase modulation of LC HWP and then, decrease the steering efficiency. In this paper, the steering efficiency of cascaded LCPGs under tilt incidence is considered and a compensation method is proposed to increase the steering efficiency. A simple analysis model is established to calculate the steering efficiency of cascaded LCPG structure for tilt incidence with arbitrary direction. Further, the effect of tilt incidence on the phase modulation of LC HWP is compensated and a simple formula is given to compute the compensation voltage. A validation experiment is performed to verify the proposed method. All the simulated and experimental results indicate that the steering efficiency of cascaded LCPGs can be improved for two-dimension beam scanning. This work is helpful for high efficiency beam steering based on cascaded LCPGs. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

Research on Wireless Signal Coverage Enhancement in Mine Tunnels with Different Turning Angle Based on PRIS

Wireless communication is an essential part of future smart mines. However, the complex structure of mines, especially curved mine tunnels, makes the coverage of wireless signals drastically reduced compared to the ground, which increases the difficulty of wireless communication inside the mine. In order to improve the transmission characteristics of wireless signals in the underground non-line-of-sight (NLOS) region, a new passive reconfigurable intelligent metasurface (PRIS) is proposed, which realises the reconfigurable characteristics of the PRIS beam through the principles of passive coding and splicing, and can be applied to different turning angle tunnels. Finally, the PRIS with different radiation directions is designed and simulated in the simulation software, and loaded into different turning angle tunnels for the simulation of tunnel power distribution. By comparing with the simulation results of unloaded PRIS, the PRIS is the most effective when the turning angle is 50◦. The overall power intensity of the tunnel is improved by 25 dBm, and the overall power intensity of the tunnel is improved by 14 ∼ 17 dBm at other turning angles, which proves the effectiveness of passive splicing metasurface in the application of underground wireless communication blindness mending scenarios. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. The environmental-friendly gas-insulated ring network cabinet is referred to as an environment-friendly cabinet. The high-voltage circuit parts of the environment-friendly cabinet are mainly composed of conductors, VCB, and the knife-brake type three-station disconnector. The insulating support parts are composed of insulating board, insulating arms, and so on. The grounding parts consist of a metal shell and grounding contacts. Simulation of the electrostatic field of the environment-friendly cabinet is during the condition of isolation fracture. Simulation results show that there are local high electric fields on the metal surfaces of the support for VCB, moving contacts, and static contacts, which are 20.7SkV /mm, 10.06kV/mm, and 7.41kV/mm, respectively. Adding a thin metal sheet to the support for the VCB or filling the gap with silicone rubber will reduce the electric field to 4.S1kV/mm and 4.1kV/mm, respectively. The metal shielding structures are installed on both sides of the moving contact and the static contact of the disconnector, and the surface electric field intensity is reduced to 5.25kV/mm and 5.18kV/mm respectively on the disconnector during the state of isolation fracture. The optimized environment-friendly cabinet was tested for power-frequency voltage-withstand test and partial discharge. The results showed that the optimized environment-friendly cabinet passed the power-frequency voltage-withstand test and the magnitude of partial discharge was better than the initial scheme, which verified the feasibility of the optimization. © 2024 IEEE.

Bagging and Boosting Fine-Tuning for Ensemble Learning

Ensemble learning aggregates outputs from multiple base learners for better performance. Bootstrap aggregating (bagging) and boosting are two popular such approaches. They are suitable for integrating unstable base learners with large variance and weak base learners with large bias, respectively, but not base learners with small variance and/or bias, e.g., support vector machine, regularized logistic regression, and ridge regression. This article proposes two novel ensemble-learning-based fine-tuning approaches, boosting fine-tuning (BF) and bagging and boosting fine-tuning (BBF), to fine-tune learners with small variance and/or bias for better performance. BF embeds boosting in a single hidden layer neural network. In each iteration, BF first uses the Newton's method to generate a temporary training set, and then trains a boosting learner on it. BBF combines BF and bagging. It first uses bootstrap to obtain multiple replicas of the training set, and then trains a BF learner on each replica. Extensive experiments on 46 real-world datasets demonstrated that BBF is flexible, robust, and effective, and can fine-tune many popular classifiers to achieve better generalization performance. © 2020 IEEE.

The application of solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)is severely impeded by the insufficient ionic conductivity and low Li^(+)transference numbers(t_(Li)^(+)).Here,we report an iodine-driven strategy to address both the two longstanding issues of SPEs *** lodine-containing groups introduced on polymer chains effectively attract Li^(+)ions,facilitate Li^(+)transport,and promote the dissociation of Li ***,iodine is also favorable to alleviate the strong O-Li^(+)coordination through a Lewis acidbase interaction,further improving the ionic conductivity and t_(Li)^(+).As a proof of concept,an iodinated single-ion conducting polymer electrolyte(IPE)demonstrates a high ionic conductivity of 0.93 mS cm^(-1)and a high t_(Li)^(+)of 0.86 at 25℃,which is among the best results ever reported for ***,symmetric Li/Li cells with IPE achieve a long-term stability over 2600 h through the in-situ formed LiF-rich *** a result,Li-S battery with IPE maintains a high capacity of 623.7 mAh g^(-1)over 300 cycles with an average Coulombic efficiency of 99%.When matched with intercalation cathode chemistries,Li/IPE/LiFePO_(4)and Li/IPE/LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)solid-state batteries also deliver high-capacity retentions of 95%and 97%at 0.2 C after 120 cycles,respectively.

Research on Ultra Narrow Size Microstrip Multiband Antenna Suitable for Wireless Repeaters in Mine Tunnels with Different Cross-Sections

Through the analysis of experimental data, it is found that the optimal communication frequencies of mine tunnels with different cross-sections are different. These optimal operating frequency bands (580–600 MHz, 806–826 MHz, 1427.9–1447.9 MHz, 2401.5–2481.5 MHz, 5150–5600 MHz) are not only numerous, but also wide-ranging. Meanwhile, because the wireless repeater in the mine tunnel has great restrictions on the antenna size, the antenna has to be designed in a very small range of transverse size. In this paper, an ultra-narrow sized multi-frequency dipole (0.41λ × 0.04λ) is proposed to cover the optimal communication bands of underground mine tunnels with different cross-sections. This multibranch dipole consists of three main parts: lateral long branch, middle short branch, and end-loaded reverse branch. By adjusting the length of the two lateral long branches and utilizing high harmonics, the antenna covers the lowest and highest operating bands that differ by a factor of seven. The middle short branch is one of the contributors to 1.4 GHz band. Meanwhile, the performance of the antenna at high frequencies is optimized by adjusting the distance between branches. The bandwidth of 1.4 GHz band is expanded by the loaded reverse branches. The test results are in good agreement with the simulation data, and the antenna covers all the optimal communication frequencies of underground mine tunnels with different cross-sections. Its peak gain at the resonance point is greater than 0 dBi, and the structure is simple. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. All rights reserved.

The design of pnictide nonlinear optical crystals is quite different from chalcogenide and oxide those in which a new paradigm need be developed to regulate the band gap,one of key optical parameters In this work,two non-centrosymmetric halidepnictides,[Cd_(2)P]_(2)[CdBr_(4)](CPB)and[Cd_(2)As]_(2)[CdBr_(4)](CAB) were *** complete octet binding electrons of pnictogens were constructed by four Cd-P pola covalent bonds under the anchoring effect of halogens,creating an extremely flat valence band maximum with band dispersion of only 0.17 *** expected,the balance of the covalency and ionicity in CPB and CAB was successfully realized,leading to a wide band gap of 2.58 eV and 1.88 ***,CPB no only has a widest band gap among Cd-containing pnictides,but also exhibits a SHG effect of 1.2×AgGaS_(2).moderate birefringence(0.088@visible light and calcd.0.043@2050 nm)and a wide IR transmission *** is the first time that the octet binding electrons construction strategy was utilized to design non diamond like NLO pnictides with excellent performances.

Improved beluga whale optimization algorithm based cluster routing in wireless sensor networks

Cluster routing is a critical routing approach in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). However, the uneven distribution of selected cluster head nodes and impractical data transmission paths can result in uneven depletion of network energy. For this purpose, we introduce a new routing strategy for clustered wireless sensor networks that utilizes an improved beluga whale optimization algorithm, called tCBWO-DPR. In the selection process of cluster heads, we introduce a new excitation function to evaluate and select more suitable candidate cluster heads by establishing the correlation between the energy of node and the positional relationship of nodes. In addition, the beluga whale optimization (BWO) algorithm has been improved by incorporating the cosine factor and t-distribution to enhance its local and global search capabilities, as well as to improve its convergence speed and ability. For the data transmission path, we use Prim’s algorithm to construct a spanning tree and introduce DPR for determining the optimal route between cluster heads based on the correlation distances of cluster heads. This effectively shortens the data transmission path and enhances network stability. Simulation results show that the improved beluga whale optimization based algorithm can effectively improve the survival cycle and reduce the average energy consumption of the network. © 2024 the Author(s).
