Hierarchical controller Synthesis Under Linear Temporal Logic Specifications Using Dynamic Quantization

Linear temporal logic(LTL)is an intuitive and expressive language to specify complex control tasks,and how to design an efficient control strategy for LTL specification is still a *** this paper,we implement the dynamic quantization technique to propose a novel hierarchical control strategy for nonlinear control systems under LTL *** on the regions of interest involved in the LTL formula,an accepting path is derived first to provide a high-level solution for the controller synthesis ***,we develop a dynamic quantization based approach to verify the realization of the accepting *** realization verification results in the necessity of the controller design and a sequence of quantization regions for the controller ***,the techniques of dynamic quantization and abstraction-based control are combined together to establish the local-to-global control *** abstraction construction and controller design are local and dynamic,thereby resulting in the potential reduction of the computational *** each quantization region can be considered locally and individually,the proposed hierarchical mechanism is more efficient and can solve much larger problems than many existing ***,the proposed control strategy is illustrated via two examples from the path planning and tracking problems of mobile robots.

BGS Distribution Deformation in BOTDR Induced by Self-Phase Modulation

We report the numerical and experimental studies of the two-dimensional Brillouin gain spectrum(BGS)distribution deformation induced by the self-phase modulation in the Brillouin optical time domain reflectometry(BOTDR)with a 20.6 km sensing *** BGS distribution deformation is investigated by analyzing the evolution of the point spread function along the fiber in the two-dimensional model of the *** the simulation and experimental results,the specific deformation degree of the BGS distribution induced by the self-phase modulation is related to the pump pulse profile,pump pulse peak power,BGS demodulation method,and detected scattered light *** comprehensively analyzing the evolution of the point spread function induced by the self-phase modulation and using the image deconvolution,a typical BOTDR sensor with a 25 ns pump pulse reaches the 20 cm spatial resolution over the 20.6 km sensing fiber.

Multi-Pulse Parallel Demodulation for High-Precision Measurement in Raman-Distributed Optical Fiber Sensing

Raman distributed temperature sensors enables distributed measurement of temperature along the sensing fiber, which is widely used in production. Due to the limitation of the optical time-domain reflection principle, the temperature measurement accuracy of the sensors will be seriously affected when the length of the temperature variation region is shorter than the pulse width. In this work, the relationship between pulse width, fiber under test (FUT) length and FUT temperature is firstly studied. Then, a multi-pulse parallel demodulation scheme is proposed. The experiments depict that a temperature measurement accuracy is optimized from over 30 °C to 1.55 °C with a 0.2 m temperature variation region over 5.6 km. The scheme is based on multi-pulse parallel measurements combined with numerical simulations to achieve equivalent short pulse measurements of the small-region temperature variation without changing the hardware structure of the sensors. This scheme reduces the hardware requirements of the sensors and avoids the problems of sensing distance reduction and signal-to-noise ratio deterioration caused by shortening the pulse width. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

Thickness Measurement of Single-Mode Fiber Coating Layer Based on Forward Brillouin Scattering

The coating layer is essential for protecting and applying optical fibers. Nowadays, the thickness measurement of the coating layer relies on point measurement schemes, such as the side-looking light distribution method and mechanical method. However, there are some problems with the above methods, such as the tradeoff between resolution and field of view (FOV), the cutting of the measurement position, and the long measurement time. To overcome these problems, we propose a new method based on forward Brillouin scattering (FBS), which measures the coating layer thickness of single mode fibers (SMFs). The physical properties of the transverse acoustic field involved in FBS make it possible to measure the thickness of the fiber coating. The corresponding relationship between the transverse acoustic mode frequency and the diameter of the coating layer can be calculated. The coating layer thickness can be measured with high precision by measuring the frequency spectrum of FBS corresponding to multiple transverse acoustic modes at a given temperature. In the verification experiment, three types of SMF coated with polyimide are used as the sensing fiber to measure the thickness of the coating layer at multiple temperatures. The experimental results show that the error in the coating layer thickness obtained is less than 0.05 μm. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of nondestructive, high-precision monitoring of fiber coating thickness. © 2025 IEEE.

Organic photodetectors (OPDs) have attracted wide attention from researchers on account of their characteristics such as easy to manufacture, low cost, lightweight, and flexible detectors. Many efforts have been made to improve the performance of OPDs. Scientists have made many efforts to improve the performance of organic photodetectors. Among them, narrow-band-gap organic photoelectric functional materials with wide spectral response exhibit application prospects in photoelectric detection. In this paper, a series of narrow-band-gap thienoisoindigo receptor small molecules were synthesized by using thienoisoindigo, and electron deficient terminal octyl cyanoacetate, 3-ethylrhodanine, and 2-(3-ethyl-4-oxothiazolidine-2-ylidene) malonitrile as receptor units, and 3-dodecylthiophene as donor unit, The photodetector with wide spectral response and high detection rate is fabricated using a Bulk Heterojunction (BHJ) structure. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

An improved high-fidelity adaptive model for integrated inlet-engine-nozzle based on mechanismdata fusion

Nowadays,there has been an increasing focus on integrated flight propulsion control and the inlet-exhaust design for the aero-propulsion *** component-level models are inadequate due to installed performance deviations and mismatches between the real engine and the model,failing to meet the accuracy requirements of supersonic *** paper establishes a quasi-one-dimensional model for the inlet-exhaust system and conducts experimental ***,a mechanism-data fusion adaptive modeling scheme using an Extreme Learning Machine based on the Salp Swarm Algorithm(SSA-ELM)is *** study reveals the inlet model’s efficacy in reflecting installed performance,flow matching,and mitigating pressure distortion,while the nozzle model accurately predicts flow coefficients and thrust coefficients,and identifies various operational *** model’s output closely aligns with typical experimental *** combining offline optimization and online adaptive correction,the mechanismdata fusion adaptive model substantially reduces output errors during regular flights and varying levels of degradation,and effectively handles gradual degradation within a single flight ***,the mechanism-data fusion adaptive model holistically addresses total pressure errors within the inlet-exhaust system and normal shock location *** approach significantly curbs performance deviations in supersonic *** example,at Ma=2.0,the system error impressively drops from 34.17%to merely 6.54%,while errors for other flight conditions consistently stay below the 2.95%*** findings underscore the clear superiority of the proposed method.

Deep reinforcement learning with reward design for quantum control

Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) has been recognized as a powerful tool in quantum physics, where DRL's reward design is nontrivial but crucial for quantum control tasks. To address the problem of over-reliance on human empirical knowledge to design DRL's rewards, we propose a DRL with a novel reward paradigm designed by the learning process information (DRL-LPI), where the learning process information (LPI) comprises the state information and the experiences. In DRL-LPI, the state information after being classified by a fidelity threshold, and the experiences are first stored simultaneously in the respective sequences, and this process is repeated until a similar-segment ends. Then, the stored state information is converted to the real value and used to design the reward value by applying a self-Amplitude function. Next, the designed reward values are integrated with the stored experiences to compose transitions for DRL's training. Through comparisons to five representative reward schemes, the proposed DRL-LPI is evaluated on two typical quantum control tasks, i.e., the spin-(1/2) quantum state control and many-coupled qubits state control, and the experimental results show the superior learning efficiency and control performance of the proposed *** results show that DRL-LPI exhibits the ability to learn the control strategy with few control actions compared to stochastic gradient descent (SGD) and genetic algorithm (GA). Dear Editor,This letter is concerned with stability analysis and stabilization design for sampled-data based load frequency control(LFC) systems via a data-driven method. By describing the dynamic behavior of LFC systems based on a data-based representation, a stability criterion is derived to obtain the admissible maximum sampling interval(MSI) for a given controller and a design condition of the PI-type controller is further developed to meet the required MSI. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methods is verified by a case study.

Servo-hydraulic actuators(SHAs)are widely used in mechanical equipment to drive heavy-duty ***,their energy efficiency is low,and their motion characteristics are inevitably affected by uncertain *** actuators(EMAs)possess superior energy efficiency and motion ***,they cannot easily drive heavy-duty mechanisms because of weak bearing *** study proposes and designs a novel electromechanical-hydraulic hybrid actuator(EMHA)that integrates the advantages of EMA and *** mainly features two transmission *** piston of the hydraulic transmission mechanism and the ball screw pair of the electromechanical transmission mechanism are mechanically fixed together through screw bolts,realizing the integration of two types of transmission *** control scheme of the electromechanical transmission mechanism is used for motion control,and the hydraulic transmission mechanism is used for power ***,the mathematical model,structure,and parameter design of the new EMHA are ***,the EMHA prototype and test platform are *** test results prove that the EMHA has good working characteristics and high energy *** with the valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder system,EMHA exhibits a velocity tracking error and energy consumption reduced by 49.7% and 54%,respectively,under the same working conditions.
