to improve the clarity of objects in a dark-light environment, and to facilitate the identification and detection of targets behind. People perceive the color and brightness of a point not only depending on the pixel value of the point but also the absolute light entering the human eye is related to the color and brightness around the point. The self-calibration model we used considers the surrounding information, which avoids the information pollution, such as large regions of dark background information. In this model, we introduce a heterogeneous convolution filter, which makes reasonable use of different parts of the filter. Through this operation, information from multiple different scale spaces can be fused, and the field of view when applying the convolution layer is greatly increased without increasing the hyper-parameters, thus producing a more distinctive feature representation. Then the self-calibration model is combined with the backbone reinforcement network, which can not only retain the information of the original scale space but also efficiently collect the latent space information to guide the feature transformation in the original space. After the different channels of the image are processed separately, the dependency between the channels can be established by using the heterogeneous convolution filter. Finally, the test on the ExDark data set proves that our dark target enhancement effect has been significantly improved.

Combined Trojan Y Chromosome strategy and sterile insect technique to eliminate mosquitoes: Modelling and analysis

Sterile insect technique has been successfully applied in the control of agricultural pests, however, it has a limited ability to control mosquitoes. A promising alternative approach is Trojan Y Chromosome strategy, which works by manipulating the sex ratio of a population through the introduction of feminized Y Y supermales that guarantee male offspring. A combined Trojan Y chromosome strategy and sterile insect technique (TYC-SIT) strategy is modeled with ordinary differential equations that allow the kinetics of the female population decline of mosquitoes to be evaluated under identical modeling conditions. The dynamical analysis leads to results on both local and global stabilities of this combined model. Optimal control analysis is also implemented to investigate the optimal mechanisms for extinction of mosquitoes. In particular, the numerical results affirm that the combined TYC-SIT enables near elimination of mosquitoes. The conclusion has great significance for pest controls. © 2021, CC BY.

The main content of the research in this paper is the estimation of depth and pose based on monocular vision and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The usual depth estimation network and pose estimation network require depth ground truth or pose ground truth as a supervised signal for training, while the depth ground truth and pose ground truth are hard to obtain, and monocular vision based depth estimation cannot predict absolute depth. In this paper, with the help of IMU, which is inexpensive and widely used, we can obtain angular velocity and acceleration information. Two new supervision signals are proposed and the calculation expressions are given. Among them, the model trained with acceleration constraint shows a good ability to estimate the absolute depth during the test. It can be considered that the model can estimate the absolute depth. We also derive the method of estimating the scale factor during the test from the acceleration constraint, and also achieve good results as the acceleration constraint does. In addition, this paper also studies the method of using IMU information as pose network input and as selecting conditions. Moreover, it analyzes and discusses the experimental results. At the same time, we also evaluate the effect of the pose estimation of the relevant models. This article starts by reviewing the achievements and deficiencies of the work in this field, combines the use of IMU, puts forward three new methods such as a new loss function, and conducts a test analysis and discussion of relevant indicators on the KITTI data set.

Fast Algorithm for Parallel Solving Inversion of Large Scale Small Matrices Based on Gpu

Inverting a matrix is time-consuming, and many works focus on accelerating inverting a single large matrix by GPU. However, the problem of inverting large-scale small matrices has little attention. In this paper, we propose a Revised In-Place Inversion algorithm for inverting large-scale small matrices, which runs on the CUDA platform and utilizes multicore GPUs. The proposed algorithm is well-suited for large-scale-small matrices (dimension $n \leq 32$), which can invert millions of small matrices within tens of milliseconds. In addition, we find there is an upper bound of input data size for each GPU device, the performance will degrade if the input data size is too large. Hence, we improve the proposed method by dividing matrices into batches according to this finding. Experimental results show that this strategy can effectively alleviate the performance degradation for inverting large scale small matrices, and maintain the high-performance execution of the algorithm. © 2022, The Authors. A high-order spatial filtering-symplectic finite difference time domain (SF-SFDTD) scheme with controllable stability condition is proposed to solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE). Firstly, the higher-order symplectic framework for the discretization of Schrödinger equation is described, and then the spatial filtering method is carried out to extend the stability of the standard SFDTD method. Finally, a numerical example is given to evaluate the correctness of the SF-SFDTD method in numerical solving Schrödinger equation.

Existing cross-modal hashing still faces three challenges: (1) Most batch-based methods are unsuitable for processing large-scale and streaming data. (2) Current online methods often suffer from insufficient semantic association, while lacking flexibility to learn the hash functions for varying streaming data. (3) Existing supervised methods always require much computation time or accumulate large quantization loss to learn hash codes. To address above challenges, we present an efficient Online Label Consistent Hashing (OLCH) for cross-modal retrieval, which aims to incrementally learn hash codes for the current arriving data, while updating the hash functions at a streaming manner. To be specific, an online semantic representation learning framework is designed to adaptively preserve the semantic similarity across different modalities, and a mini-batch online gradient descent approach associated with forward-backward splitting is developed to optimize the hash functions. Accordingly, the hash codes are adaptively learned online with the high discriminative capability, while avoiding high computation complexity to process the streaming data. Experimental results show its outstanding performance in comparison with the-state-of-arts. © 2021 IEEE Computer Society. All rights reserved.

Image matting is important in digital image processing. The pixel pair optimization-based methods are some of the image matting methods that have distinct advantages in spatially disconnected foreground. However, they cannot provide high-quality alpha mattes with limited computing resources which limits their computing resource-sensitive applications. To address this problem, we present a natural image matting method based on a surrogate model. The surrogate model for pixel pair optimization is established in the presented method to approximate pixel pair fitness, and its analytical optimal solution is used as the approximate optimal solution of pixel pair optimization problem, which saves a lot of computing resources. Experimental results show that the image matting method based on a surrogate model provides high-quality matting mattes with low computing resources and its image matting performance is competitive against state-of-the-art pixel pair optimization-based methods which require a lot of computational resources. © 2022, The Authors. In this paper, we examine the synchronization problem in nonlinearly-coupled multi-weighted complex networks that contain uncertainties and varying delays. The complexities of these networks arise from the presence of both internal time-varying delays and multiple coupling time-varying delays. To address this challenge, we employ impulsive pinning control schemes and incorporate the impulsive pinning control ratio in the construction of the Lyapunov function, which allows us to determine the optimal number of pinned nodes at each pulse instant. Our analysis, based on stability theory, provides synchronization criteria that are strongly dependent on the multi-weights and time delays present in the network. Finally, we present numerical simulations of a delayed complex network to demonstrate the validity and efficacy of our derived theoretical results. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
