Early screening for anxiety and appropriate interventions are essential to reduce the incidence of self-harm and suicide in patients. Due to limited medical resources, traditional methods that overly rely on physician expertise and specialized equipment cannot simultaneously meet the needs for high accuracy and model interpretability. Multimodal data can provide more objective evidence for anxiety screening to improve the accuracy of models. The large amount of noise in multimodal data and the unbalanced nature of the data make the model prone to overfitting. However, it is a non-differentiable problem when high-dimensional and multimodal feature combinations are used as model inputs and incorporated into model training. This causes existing anxiety screening methods based on machine learning and deep learning to be inapplicable. Therefore, we propose a multimodal data-driven anxiety screening framework, namely MMD-AS, and conduct experiments on the collected health data of over 200 seafarers by smartphones. The proposed framework’s feature extraction, dimension reduction, feature selection, and anxiety inference are jointly trained to improve the model’s performance. In the feature selection step, a feature selection method based on the Improved Fireworks Algorithm is used to solve the non-differentiable problem of feature combination to remove redundant features and search for the ideal feature subset. Understanding Information Sensitivity Perceptions and its Impact on Information Privacy Concerns in E-Commerce Services: Insights from China

Although research topics related to information privacy in e-commerce services have been extensively studied, we still lack knowledge about consumers' perceived information sensitivity to personal information disclosure at the information type level and its effect on information privacy concerns. This study focused on common personal information types required by e-commerce services and investigated 625 Chinese consumers based on an online questionnaire about their information sensitivity to disclosing these personal information types. Rooted in the literature on information sensitivity and privacy concerns, we explored the impact of individual and situational factors on information sensitivity and the impact of information sensitivity of different personal information types on e-commerce privacy concerns. Our research identified which personal information types are considered insensitive and which are mediumsensitive or high-sensitive in e-commerce services and found a consensus among consumers on which personal information types are more sensitive. At the individual level, privacy experience, risk propensity, and gender affect information sensitivity. At the situational level, website social presence, website familiarity, and perceived privacy control affect information sensitivity. Perceived information sensitivity of medium-sensitive and high-sensitive personal information types affect e-commerce privacy concerns. Our research deepens the understanding of information sensitivity and privacy concerns and provides practical insights for privacy policymakers and e-commerce service providers. © 2023, The Authors. Forecasting of electricity price subsidy based on installed cost of distributed photovoltaic in China

In China, the installed cost of distributed photovoltaic (DPV) is declining rapidly. However, the level of subsidy per kWh for DPV is adjusted less frequently by the Chinese government. This paper proposed a linkage model to forecast subsidy per kWh of DPV based on net present value (NPV) method. The results show that the increase of subsidy duration, internal consumption proportion and sunshine hours will reduce subsidy level. Therefore, it is suggested that the Chinese government should take varied and targeted measures, such as reducing different subsidies for new DPV users who install DPV in different years, choosing a longer subsidy duration and setting different subsidy levels in different regions. These varied and targeted measures are beneficial to both government and users, because they can reduce the annual financial burden for the government and the surcharges of electricity purchase for users.

Dempster-Shafer Theory is specially advantaged in information fusion, while Support Vector Machine (SVM) can well deal with high-dimensional limited sample data. This Article firstly forecasts the data samples by categories with multiple SVMs, and hence based thereon, fuses the resulting information from multiple SVM models by using DS theory. At the end, Anderson's Iris data set is used to simulate the system of the created DS-SVM model, which shows that the approaches proposed in this Article can not only increase the accuracy rate of the SVM forecasting model, but also improve the propensity scores of the SVM forecasting model. © 2015 SERSC.

A Lite Fireworks Algorithm for optimization

The fireworks algorithm is an optimization algorithm for simulating the explosion phenomenon of fireworks. Because of its fast convergence and high precision, it is widely used in pattern recognition, optimal scheduling, and other fields. However, most of the existing research work on the fireworks algorithm is improved based on its defects, and little consideration is given to reducing the number of parameters of the fireworks algorithm. The original fireworks algorithm has too many parameters, which increases the cost of algorithm adjustment and is not conducive to engineering applications. In addition, in the fireworks population, the unselected individuals are discarded, thus causing a waste of their location information. To reduce the number of parameters of the original Fireworks Algorithm and make full use of the location information of discarded individuals, we propose a simplified version of the Fireworks Algorithm. It reduces the number of algorithm parameters by redesigning the explosion operator of the fireworks algorithm and constructs an adaptive explosion radius by using the historical optimal information to balance the local mining and global exploration capabilities. The comparative experimental results of function optimization show that the overall performance of our proposed LFWA is better than that of comparative algorithms, such as the fireworks algorithm, particle swarm algorithm, and bat algorithm. © 2023, CC BY.

Optimal Sizing of Ev Charging Stations Considering Charging Scheduling and Renewable Energy

The construction of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations is critical for the widespread use of EVs. Appropriate design of EV charging stations should fulfill charging requests while considering various economic issues. In this regard, we present an optimization model to address the sizing problem of EV charging stations with integration of renewable energy resources, energy storage system and multi-types of chargers. The proposed model aims at reducing the investment cost and improving the profitability of EV charging stations. In order to accurately estimate EV charging demand, the characteristics of EV charging behaviors are derived based on real-world charging data. Furthermore, a charging scheduling strategy that responds to time-of-use (TOU) price and charging demand levels is proposed to improve the utilization efficiency of chargers. Results show that the design of EV charging stations with integrated consideration of these components and charging scheduling strategy can achieve optimal economic efficiency. © 2022, The Authors. Performance evaluation of China’s industry: a generalized equilibrium data envelopment analysis approach with fixed-sum undesirable output

With the rapid development of economy, China faces a considerable challenge from environmental problems especially with the waste of gas pollution emitted by China’s industry. To assess the environmental performance of China’s industry, this paper proposes a new generalized equilibrium efficiency frontier data envelopment analysis (GEEFDEA) approach that considers waste gases as undesirable outputs. It is assumed that the total amount of waste gases that the industry is permitted to emit is limited (or fixed), that is, increasing air pollution of one area should reduce that of other areas for offset. Compared with the prior evaluation approaches, the proposed approach is the only one that satisfies the following conditions simultaneously. 1) The approach considers the property of the “fixed sum” of undesirable outputs. 2) The approach avoids the case in prior approaches (e.g., fixed sum output and zero sum gains DEA approaches) that an infeasible solution may occur when accessing decision making unites (DMUs) with fixed-sum undesirable outputs. 3) The proposed approach inherits all advantages of the GEEFDEA approach such as achieving an equilibrium state by only one step and obtaining a complete ranking order. Finally, the proposed approach is applied to evaluate the performance in China’s industry from 2008 to 2013. Results show China’s industry has significant regional characteristics.

Financing constraints, principal-agent and Chinese listed firms’ output efficiency

It is shown that output under financing constraints and principal-agent can be modeled as a one-side deviation from a frictionless output level. The effects of financing constraints and principal-agent can be identified and quantified by imposing a distribution assumption on the effects. Panel data on Chinese listed firms between 2008 and 2013 are used in the estimation. It is found that: (1) the output efficiency of Chinese listed firms is significantly affected by financing constraints and principal-agent;(2) the severity of financing constraints and principal-agent of firms in different regions varies;(3) firms’ output efficiency in east China varies greatly, and the mean efficiency is the lowest of the three regions. © 2016 SERSC.

Understanding tissue motion in surgery is crucial to enable applications in downstream tasks such as segmentation, 3D reconstruction, virtual tissue landmarking, autonomous probe-based scanning, and subtask autonomy. Labeled data are essential to enabling algorithms in these downstream tasks since they allow us to quantify and train algorithms. This paper introduces a point tracking challenge to address this, wherein participants can submit their algorithms for quantification. The submitted algorithms are evaluated using a dataset named surgical tattoos in infrared (STIR), with the challenge aptly named the STIR Challenge 2024. The STIR Challenge 2024 comprises two quantitative components: accuracy and efficiency. The accuracy component tests the accuracy of algorithms on in vivo and ex vivo sequences. The efficiency component tests the latency of algorithm inference. The challenge was conducted as a part of MICCAI EndoVis 2024. In this challenge, we had 8 total teams, with 4 teams submitting before and 4 submitting after challenge day. This paper details the STIR Challenge 2024, which serves to move the field towards more accurate and efficient algorithms for spatial understanding in surgery. Media Attention and ESG Greenwashing: Evidence from Chinese Listed Companies

We investigate the relationship between media attention and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) greenwashing using the data of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2020. Our results show that media attention can inhibit corporate ESG greenwashing behavior. Moreover, this inhibiting effect is mainly caused by paper media and becomes more prominent in non-state-owned enterprises (non-SOEs). The mediation analysis proves that media attention plays an important role in improving investor attention, thereby inhibiting corporate ESG greenwashing. The moderation analysis indicates that the effect of media attention on inhibiting ESG greenwashing is weakened in companies with more analyst following and higher quality of internal control. Our study provides a new view on the governance of ESG greenwashing in China. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
