An enterobacter was isolated from a wild carp intestinal in Xinjiang and identified as Enterobacter *** the basis of both 16S rDNA gene sequencing and examination of its physiological and biochemical *** strain was found to be able to produce biohydrogen by fermentation of glucose,xylose and the mixture of the two reducing sugars,particularly,this bacterium owned strong capacity to metabolize xylose,which enabled the hydrogen yield using xylose as substrate 3 times of that using glucose as *** strain was further used for hydrogen production by fermentation of cotton stalk hydrolysate,the results showed that the highest daily hydrogen concentration could reach 1.06±0.22 molH2/mol RS(reducing sugar),and the cumulative hydrogen yield could reach 2.09 molH2/mol RS,as well as the utilization rates of xylose and glucose in cotton stalk hydrolysate achieved to higher than 90%after 120 h *** addition,using the genome DNA as template,an open reading frame gene segment of Fe-hydrogenase hydA gene with a size of about 450 bp was cloned through design of conservative sequence of Fe-hydrogenase,the gene sequence was found to have 97%similarity with the corresponding sequence in Enterobacter cloacae IIT-BT 08 through sequence blast.

Oxytropis glabraDC. is a perennial poisonous plant to livestock belonging to the genusOxytropis,Leguminosae, mainly distributed in Northwestern China. As a poisonous grass, this species protects plant diversity in degraded grasslands by sheltering adjacent plants. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome with a total size of 122,094 bp was reported. Our annotations showed that the chloroplast genome contains 109 genes, including 76 protein-coding genes, 29 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. This work presents complete chloroplast genome information, which will be valuable for studying the evolution and genetic diversity ofO. glabra.

Alhagi sparsifoliaShap. is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the genusAlhagi, Leguminosae. This species is of high nutritional, medicinal and ecological values. The complete chloroplast genome was 128,418 bp and lost an IR (inverted repeat) region. Further annotation revealed the chloroplast genome contains 108 genes, including 75 protein coding genes, 29 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. A total of 103 simple sequence repeats (SSRs) were identified in the chloroplast genome. This chloroplast genome resource will be useful for study on the evolution and genetic diversity ofA. sparsifoliain the future.

Background Chicken is one of the most numerous and widely distributed species around the world,and many studies support the multiple ancestral origins of domestic *** research regarding the yellow skin phenotype in domestic chickens(regulated by BCO2)likely originating from the grey junglefowl serves as crucial evidence for demonstrating the multiple origins of ***,beyond the BCO2 gene region,much remains unknown about the introgression from the grey junglefowl into domestic ***,in this study,based on wholegenome data of 149 samples including 4 species of wild junglefowls and 13 local domestic chicken breeds,we explored the introgression events from the grey junglefowl to domestic *** We successfully detected introgression regions besides BCO2,including two associated with growth trait(IGFBP2 and TKT),one associated with angiogenesis(TIMP3)and two members of the heat shock protein family(HSPB2 and CRYAB).Our findings suggest that the introgression from the grey junglefowl may impact the growth performance of ***,we revealed introgression events from grey junglefowl at the BCO2 region in multiple domestic chicken breeds,indicating a phenomenon where the yellow skin phenotype likely underwent strong selection and was ***,our haplotype analysis shed light on BCO2 introgression event from different sources of grey junglefowl into domestic chickens,possibly suggesting multiple genetic flows between the grey junglefowl and domestic *** In summary,our findings provide evidences of the grey junglefowl contributing to the genetic diversity of domestic chickens,laying the foundation for a deeper understanding of the genetic composition within domestic chickens,and offering new perspectives on the impact of introgression on domestic chickens.

Five flavonostilbenes (alopecurones H, I, J, K and L) and five known ones were isolated from roots of Sophora alopecuroides, in addition to ten other phenolic compounds. A non-enzymatic interconversion of the lavandulyl-substituted flavonostilbenes was observed among alopecurones A, H, I, and K through a Wessely-Moser rearrangement reaction; this was proven by 1D and 2D NMR, HPLC-CD-PDA and HRMS analyses. Bioassay results suggested that flavonostilbenes exhibit significant antibacterial and anti-biofilm formation activities against Staphylococcus epidermidis with MIC values ranging from 3.1 to 12.5μg/mL.

Litsea,a non-monophyletic group of the tribe Laureae(Lauraceae),plays important roles in the tropical and subtropical forests of Asia,Australia,Central and North America,and the islands of the ***,intergeneric relationships between Litsea and Laurus,Lindera,Parasassafras and Sinosassafras of the tribe Laureae remain *** this study,we present phylogenetic analyses of seven newly sequenced Litsea plastomes,together with 47 Laureae plastomes obtained from public databases,representing six genera of the *** results highlight two highly supported monophyletic groups of Litsea *** is composed of 16 Litsea taxa and two Lindera *** 18 plastomes of these taxa were further compared for their gene structure,codon usage,contraction and expansion of inverted repeats,sequence repeats,divergence hotspots,and gene *** complete plastome size of newly sequenced taxa varied between 152,377 bp(Litsea auriculata)and 154,117 bp(Litsea pierrei).Seven of the 16 Litsea plastomes have a pair of insertions in the IRa(trnL-trnH)and IRb(ycf2)*** 18 plastomes of Litsea and Lindera taxa exhibit similar gene features,codon usage,oligonucleotide repeats,and inverted repeat *** codons with the highest frequency among these taxa favored A/T endings and each of these plastomes had nine divergence hotspots,which are located in the same *** also identified six protein coding genes(accD,ndhJ,rbcL,rpoC2,ycf1 and ycf2)under positive selection in Litsea;these genes may play important roles in adaptation of Litsea species to various environments.
