A miniaturization and high-Q millimeter-wave (mm-wave) dual-passband substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filter based on integrated passive device (IPD) technology is proposed in this paper, which adopt three layers structure and the top layer and the bottom layer cavities coupling through rectangular slots etched on the middle copper layer. Perturbation vias are loaded at the center of the top layer cavity to realize TE101/TE201 mode coupling, and the bandwidth of two passbands can be flexibly designed. The 3dB bandwidth is 74.6GHz-76.5GHz, 78.8GHz-80.7GHz, and the insertion loss is 0.7dB and 0.5dB respectively.

A Miniaturized wide stopband quasi-ellipse filter is presented using Si-based IPD technology. To demonstrate the working mechanism of the proposed BPF, an LC circuit is conceived and analyzed for further study of transmission zeros and poles. The proposed BPF is implemented in the Si-based IPD technology and simulated. A transmission zero is generated above the center frequency due to the cross-coupling, which improves selectivity and out-of-band suppression. It has a center frequency of 2.95GHz with a 3-dB bandwidth of 20.3%, and a minimum insertion loss of 2.08-dB within the passband. The stopband suppression from 3.8GHz to 11GHz is greater than 30-dB. The chip, including the GSG pads, is about 2.33mm×2.36mm.

This work reports a valveless piezoelectric micropump with high pressure load and high flowrate. The experimental results showed that the maximum displacement of the actuator and the output flowrate of the micropump could reach 18.4 μm and 308 mL/min under zero pressure load, respectively, which was highly consistent with the numerical analysis. The maximum output pressure reached 47 kPa, and the pump was extremely stable under various temperatures from room temperature to 80°C, with frequency variations of only −150 Hz. The micropump demonstrated its great potential for wearable/portable application, especially for blood pressure monitoring.

This paper proposes a physics-based analytical model for threshold voltage of p-GaN gate HEMT. Based on the EPFL HEMT model, the electric potential obtained by the Poisson's equations is combined with the discontinuity of the interface displacement vector to get the analytical threshold voltage model, considering the total negative polarization induced charge density at the p-GaN/AlGaN interface and the Mg out-diffusion of the p-GaN gate layer. Additionally, the resulting threshold voltage transients are explained using technology computer-aided design (TCAD) simulations, and good results verify the correctness of our derivation.

Lensfree on-chip digital holographic microscope (LFOCDHM) is a simple and efficient miniaturized digital microscope with unique advantages of compact structure, large field-of-view (FOV), and high numerical aperture (NA), which is promising for Internet-of-Medical-Things applications. LFOCDHM imaging generally includes two processes: hologram generation and image reconstruction. In common applications that image stained cells or blood smear samples with relatively high contrast, the threshold segmentation algorithm can be applied to find an object support region (OSR) in the reconstruction process. However, for label-free and low contrast samples, the threshold segmentation algorithm will be unreliable in finding an optimized OSR, which then seriously affects the quality of the reconstruction process. To tackle this problem, the effects of OSR on image reconstruction were studied and an optimized OSR determination method for LFOCDHM was proposed in this work. The results showed that the proposed method can have a 50% lower variance in intensity profiles of reconstructed images compared with traditional threshold segmentation methods.

The design method of the filtering folded reflectarray antenna (FRA) through exploiting its main reflectarray is presented for the first time in this paper. Firstly, two novel reflective surface elements with high frequency selectivity and polarization conversion properties are introduced, including a single-layer vialess reflective surface based on the dual-mode ring resonator and a multilayer vialess reflective surface based on the filtering antenna technology. Then in order to verify the proposed FRA design method, an antenna prototype has been designed as the example. For simplicity, 1-bit phase compensation of the main reflectarray is done to realize the high-gain radiation beam. Good simulated results of the proposed antenna have been observed, which validate the proposed design method. Furthermore, some discussion on the simulated results of the proposed antenna design has been provided.

Recently, optical flow method is widely used in visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM). Based on the two assumptions of gray invariant hypothesis and spatial consistency in optical flow method, but the first assumption for auto-exposure videos cannot be established, because the camera will automatically adjust the exposure parameters to make the overall image brighter and darker. The variation of illumination can greatly affect the accuracy and robustness of VSLAM. To solve the light-sensitivity problem of visual-inertial SLAM (VI_SLAM) based on sparse optical flow method, a real-time photometric calibration algorithm was proposed. Adaptive compensation KLT is used to replace the traditional KLT optical flow tracking, and the response function of the camera, irradiance attenuation factor and exposure time are jointly optimized to correct the image brightness value, enhance the stability of front-end visual tracking, and improve the accuracy of sliding window optimization at the back-end. We tested the optimized system (VINS_photon) on large datasets and compared it with state-of-the-art SLAM. Experimental results show that the performance of VINS_photon has been evidently improved after the optimization of photometric parameters.

A 220G super-regenerative receiver (SRR) in 65nm CMOS is designed in this paper. The LC-tank voltage controlled oscillator is adopted in this SRR to replace the super-regenerative oscillator in a traditional SRR, which is used to enlarge the bandwidth of the SRR. Because the cut-off frequency of the MOSFET used in this SRR is lower than the operating frequency, the rf signal is injected to the common-mode node of the varactor, which also increase the phase balance and reverse isolation of the VCO waveform. The post-layout simulated results show that the SRR achieves the sensitivity of -76 dBm and the bandwidth of 1.68 GHz. The gain is larger than 41.3 dB overall the whole 3dB-bandwidth. This SRR consumes a power of 28.63 mW while applying 1.4-V power supply, and it occupies the area of 0.17 mm 2 .

A circularly polarized filtering transmitarray antenna (CPFTA) with a linearly polarized (LP) feed antenna is designed and implemented in this paper. An antenna-filter-antenna frequency selective surface (AFA FSS) has been designed and adopted as the transmitting layer of the proposed CPFTA. The designed AFA FSS has the multifunction of spatial filter, phase compensator and linearly polarized to circularly polarized (CP) wave converter. To verify the CPFTA design method, an antenna prototype whose center frequency of 30GHz has been exemplified with a LP horn feed antenna. Excellent simulated results of the proposed CPFTA have been observed.

The widespread adoption of mobile communication technology has led to a severe shortage of spectrum resources, driving the development of cognitive radio technologies aimed at improving spectrum utilization, with spectrum sensing being the key enabler. This paper presents a novel deep learning-based wideband spectrum sensing framework that leverages multi-taper power spectral inputs to achieve high-precision and sample-efficient sensing. To enhance sensing accuracy, we incorporate a feature fusion strategy that combines multiple power spectrum representations. To tackle the challenge of limited sample sizes, we propose two data augmentation techniques designed to expand the training set and improve the network’s detection probability. Comprehensive simulation results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing approaches, particularly in low signal-to-noise ratio conditions, achieving higher detection probabilities and lower false alarm rates. The method also exhibits strong robustness across various scenarios, highlighting its significant potential for practical applications in wireless communication systems. © 2025, CC BY-NC-SA.
