Robust fully spin-polarized nodal chain in 3D metal-organic framework

The identification of fully spin-polarized topological phases in magnetic inorganic materials has attracted significant *** this study,through first-principles calculations,we characterize CrCl2(pyz)2,a metal-organic framework(MOF),as a nodal chain *** results reveal a ferromagnetic ground state in this material,presenting as a half-metal with a single spin channel near the Fermi ***-ically,the spin-down states form a nodal chain close to the Fermi level,consisting of three nodal loops protected by glide mirror symmetry on distinct ***,fully spin-polarized drumhead sur-face states corresponding to these nodal loops are identified on the material's ***,we observe the persistence of the fully spin-polarized nodal chain even when tuning the ligand rotation an-gle of the ***,our investigation delves into the influence of spin-orbit coupling(SOC)on the system,revealing that it has minimal impact on the nodal *** robustness of the nodal chain in the presence of SOC underscores its intriguing and resilient nature,indicating its potential utility in various electronic ***,the robust realization of a fully spin-polarized nodal chain in this magnetic MOF system holds promise for applications in the realm of spintronics.

Enhanced Denitrification in Constructed Wetlands with Low Carbon/Nitrogen Ratios:Insights into Reallocation of Carbon Metabolism Based on Electron Utilization

Constructed wetlands(CWs)are a promising method to treat effluent from wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs).However,low carbon/nitrogen(C/N)ratios of the influent inhibit denitrification in CWs,resulting in poor nitrogen removal ***,we compared traditional(control),biochar(BC),and b-cyclodextrin-functionalized biochar(BC@b-CD)CW systems to investigate nitrogen removal from influent with low C/N ratios,and the mechanisms that enhance this *** highest nitrogen removal rates were observed in the BC@b-CD group,with rates 45.89%and 42.48%higher than those of the control,accompanied by a 70.57%and 85.45%decrease in nitrous oxide release,when the C/N ratio decreased from 4 to 2,*** and enzymatic analyses indicated that BC@b-CD enhances nitrogen removal by coordinately promoting carbon metabolism and increasing denitrification enzyme activities,without affecting microbial species diversity in *** equation modeling confirmed that the foremost advantages of BC@b-CD were effective electron generation and transportation resulting from increased activities of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)dehydrogenase and the electron transfer system(ETS),thereby strategically reallocating more carbon metabolic flow to support *** results show that the application of BC@b-CD in CWs to optimize the reallocation of electrons from carbon metabolism is a feasible strategy to enhance denitrification under low C/N conditions.

The global production of organic wastes and heavy metals(HMs)poses significant environmental risks,along with considerable carbon emissions from waste *** highlights the significance of synergistic management of both wastes and CO_(2),which is a vital strategy for mitigating environmental pollution and climate ***,we employed waste protein from wastewater produced during soybean peptide(SP)processing as a carbon matrix to anchor HMs Ni from electroplating *** mixture was electrospun into a gas diffusion electrode(GDE).This unique GDE design eliminates the need for a separate gas diffusion layer(GDL)and simplifies catalyst *** versatile GDE consists of nanofibers with uniformly dispersed Ni single atom catalysts(SACs)on the fiber ***,boasts a porous structure that facilitates CO_(2)diffusion and *** homogeneous distribution of Ni SACs within the GDE fosters high activity in the electrochemical conversion of CO_(2)to *** 50 mA/cm^(2)and 2.5 V cell voltage,Ni SACs achieved an excellent Faradaic efficiency of 81%-98%in a membrane electrode assembly(MEA).This technique holds a promise in achieving the collaborative management of carbon mitigation and wastes recovery.

Strategies for efficient enrichment of anaerobic ammonia oxidizing bacteria in activated sludge

Anaerobic ammonia oxidation(Anammox)is an economical and sustainablewastewater nitrogen removal technology,and its application in the mainstream process is the inevitable trend of the development of ***,how to effectively enriching Anammox bacteria from the activated sludge remains challenging and restricts its extensive *** this study,the rapid and efficient enrichment of Anammox bacteriawas achieved by raising the reflux ratio and nitrogen loading rate(NLR)using conventional activated sludge as the *** the screening phase(days 1–90),the reflux ratio was increased to discharge partial floc sludge,resulting in the relative abundance of Candidatus Brocadiaceae increased from0.04%to 22.54%,which effectively reduced thematrix and spatial competition between other microorganisms and Anammox *** day 90,the stoichiometric ratio of the Anammox process closely approached the theoretical value of 1:1.32:0.26,indicating that the Anammox reaction was the primary nitrogen removal process in the *** the enrichment phase(days 91–238),the NLR increased from 0.43 to 1.20 kgN/(m^(3)·d)and removal efficiency was 71.89%,resulting in the relative abundance of Candidatus Brocadiaceae increased to 61.27%on day *** reactor operated steadily from days 444 to 498,maintaining the nitrogen removal rate(NRR)of 3.00 kgN/(m^(3)·d)and achieving successful sludge granulation with the particle size of 392.4μ*** short,this study provided a simple and efficient approach for enriching Anammox bacteria from the activated sludge,supporting to start an Anammox process efficiently.

A decoupled method for time-dependent reliability-based design optimization

Time-dependent reliability-based design optimization(TRBDO)has received extensive attention because of its ability to achieve optimal solutions that help meet the requirement for whole lifecycle reliability by quantitatively considering dynamic ***,directly solving TRBDO problems is computationally expensive,if not prohibitive,owing to the need to repeatedly evaluate time-dependent probabilistic *** address this challenge,an efficient decoupled method called sequential optimization and time-dependent reliability assessment(SOTRA)is proposed in this *** method transforms the original TRBDO problem,initially formulated probabilistically,into a problem using percentile formulation after discretizing time-dependent performance *** adopting the equivalent minimum performance target point(EMPTP)concept,the TRBDO problem is further converted into an equivalent deterministic optimization problem,which is subsequently solved through a sequential iteration process involving deterministic optimization and time-dependent reliability *** efficiently and robustly search an EMPTP for reliability analysis,a time-dependent self-adaptive finite-step length method is *** verify the proposed SOTRA method against existing TRBDO methods,a numerical example,a benchmark structural design case of a simply supported beam,and an engineering application for flexible wheel design are exemplified in this *** results demonstrate that the proposed SOTRA method exhibits high efficiency and robustness in solving TRBDO problems.

To enhance the tip positioning accuracy and robustness against disturbances of linear colocated motion systems,a novel composite feedforward(COMFF)control with Bi-Loop iterative feedforward tuning(IFFT)is *** tip positioning error consists of the coupled tip residual vibration and linear motor tracking *** the influence of nonlinear friction and load flexibility,the topology of COMFF is designed as decoupled structures so that COMFF can suppress the tip residual vibration and compensate for the linear motor tracking error ***,Bi-Loop IFFT is built to improve the robustness of COMFF in high-precision motor tracking *** the state space of the linear motor tracking error based on the projection theorem,two loops are performed in parallel along the iteration *** is the P-type iteration loop that drives linear motor tracking errors to converge to the zero *** other is the observation loop constructed by the recursive least square with forgetting factors to accelerate the P-type iteration *** by the P-type iteration loop with the aid of the observation loop,the proposed COMFF is integrated with fast convergence and high robustness when confronted with model *** effectiveness of the proposed COMFF combined with Bi-Loop IFFT is validated by experiments.

Modeling and control of a rigid-flexible coupling robot for narrow space manipulations

Narrow space manipulations are crucial for equipment maintenance,as they eliminate the need for disassembly,thus reducing costs and increasing ***-driven flexible robots possess exceptional capabilities in maneuvering through narrow spaces,thanks to their interaction compliance and distal ***,their inherent low stiffness causes a decline in the location accuracy of the robot and could even lead to manipulation *** address this challenge,this paper proposes a novel type of rigid-flexible coupling robot,which increases the stiffness of the robot while ensuring the reachability within a narrow *** achieve high-accuracy location in a narrow space,kinematic and control methods are ***,the robot forward kinematics are uniformly represented,and the closed-form inverse kinematics solution is ***,in cases where the robot's structure fails to align with Pieper's solution,a two-stage search strategy is utilized to solve the inverse kinematics,resulting in a high success rate of 99.1%.Based on the proposed kinematics,a rigid-dominated control method is then proposed to facilitate localization and pose alignment of target objects in narrow *** practical comparative experiments show that the proposed robot has the capability of high accuracy control in narrow spaces.

Characterization of the interfacial structure and fracture behavior of in situ synthesized ceramics to reinforce Ni-based composite coatings

This work used the in-situ synthesis of molten-state nitride ceramic phase-reinforced Ni-based alloy coat-ings,aiming to improve the phase-interface bonding through the interdependent co-solidification be-tween molten *** XRD was used to analyze the physical phases of the composite *** microstructure and phase-interface structure were characterized in detail by combining SEM,TEM,HRTEM,FFT,and SAED *** tester and microforce microhardness tester were em-ployed to measure the surface hardness and elastic modulus of the composite *** fracture be-havior of the composite coatings was characterized by observing the fracture morphology of the coatings using SEM combined with the EDS *** was found that the formation mechanisms of inter-facial misfit dislocation assistance,lattice distortion,aggregation of stacking faults,and specific growth orientation between the y-Ni matrix phase and each ceramic phase in NiCrBSi-TiCrN composite coat-ings improved the lattice matching between the two-phase interface,which resulted in the formation of atomically corresponding coherent lattice relations and stepped interfacial semi-coherent lattice relations,and enhanced the degree of phase-interface *** this basis,the composite coatings with high Cr content further inhibited the expansion of interphase penetration cracks due to the existence of Cr-rich zones at the phase interface,thus exhibiting high fracture *** work provides new opinions on the improvement of phase-interface bonding and composition design of Ni-based composite coatings.
