The determination of pH values in aqueous solutions using pH-responsive materials has been extensively documented. However, the simultaneous detection of acidic and basic gases remains underexplored, despite its critical importance due to the severe health risks these gases pose. Addressing this gap, we developed a novel pH-sensitive aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorescence probe, InTPAPy, and integrated it into a sodium alginate/sodium hyaluronate (SA/HA) matrix to create a groundbreaking gas pH sensor, InTPAPy-SA/HA. This innovative sensor demonstrated remarkable color and fluorescence changes upon exposure to acid and base gases, enabling clear visual differentiation. By employing MATLAB to analyze the sensor's sensitive regions of interest, we obtained quantifiable HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) data, which allowed for the accurate measurement of acid-base gas concentrations. Impressively, the sensor exhibited rapid response times, with detectable color changes occurring within 30 seconds for HCl and a mere 10 seconds for NH3. The detection limits were established at 0.13 ppb for HCl and 1.0 ppb for NH3, underscoring the sensor's high sensitivity. This study introduces a pioneering on-site, visual detection platform for monitoring acidic and basic gases in the atmosphere, offering significant advancements in environmental and health safety monitoring. © 2025, The Authors. Hybrid Reinforced Medical Report Generation with M-Linear Attention and Repetition Penalty

To reduce doctors’ workload, deep-learning-based automatic medical report generation has recently attracted more and more research efforts, where deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are employed to encode the input images, and recurrent neural networks (RNNs) are used to decode the visual features into medical reports automatically. However, these state-of-the-art methods mainly suffer from three shortcomings: (i) incomprehensive optimization, (ii) low-order and unidimensional attention mechanisms, and (iii) repeated generation. In this article, we propose a hybrid reinforced medical report generation method with m-linear attention and repetition penalty mechanism (HReMRG-MR) to overcome these problems. Specifically, a hybrid reward with different weights is employed to remedy the limitations of single-metric-based rewards. We also propose a search algorithm with linear complexity to approximate the best weight combination. Furthermore, we use m-linear attention modules to explore high-order feature interactions and to achieve multi-modal reasoning, while a repetition penalty applies penalties to repeated terms during the model’s training process. Extensive experimental studies on two public datasets show that HReMRG-MR greatly outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines in terms of all metrics. We also conducted a series of ablation experiments to prove the effectiveness of all our proposed components. We also performed a reward search toy experiment to give evidence that our proposed search approach can significantly reduce the search time while approximating the best performance. The observation of superthermal plasma distributions in space reveals a multitude of distributions with high-energy tails, and the kappa-Maxwellian distribution is a type of non-Maxwellian distribution that exhibits this characteristic. However, finding all roots of superthermal plasma wave dispersion relation of obliquely propagating waves is challenging. To address this, we have developed a comprehensive solver: BO-KM, using an innovative numerical algorithm. The solver offers a rapid and efficient approach for simultaneously determining all roots of the kinetic dispersion equation for oblique propagation in magnetized plasmas. It can be applied to magnetized superthermal plasma with multi-species, characterized by anisotropic drifting kappa-Maxwellian, bi-Maxwellian distributions, or a combination of the two. The rational and J-pole Pad\'{e} expansions of the dispersion relation are equivalent to solving a linear system's matrix eigenvalue problem. This study presents the numerical findings for kappa-Maxwellian plasmas, bi-Maxwellian plasmas, and their combination, demonstrating the solver's outstanding performance through benchmark analyses. © 2024, The Authors. Revealing the Crack Propagation Behavior of Weldment Under Cyclic Loadings by Combining Crystal Plasticity Finite Element and Xfem

In this paper, different types of crack propagation behavior in P92 welded joint are simulated under low cycle fatigue and creep-fatigue interaction loadings using crystal plasticity finite element coupled with the eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM). The geometric discontinuity is introduced by net slip and utilized as the crack propagation criterion. The inherent limitations for simulating crack growth within the XFEM were modified. The result shows that the cracks in heat affected zone grow faster than that in the welded zone. Short crack propagation dominated by dislocation activity takes approximately 4 to 5 grains, followed by long crack propagation which is unrelated to dislocation activity and the growth direction kept an angle to the loading direction (45o-51o). For type IV cracking (fastest propagation speed), the crack favorably grows on the slip system (101) [ 11] and (0 1) [111]. The increased strain amplitude and the introduction of the dwell period accelerate the crack growth rate. Experimentally observed crack growth features like the deflections within grains and at grain boundaries, retardation at grain boundaries are captured. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

High performance hydroxyapatite(HA)ceramics with excellent densification and mechanical properties were successfully fabricated by digital light processing(DLP)three-dimensional(3D)printing *** was found that the sintering atmosphere of wet C02 can dramatically improve the densification process and thus lead to better mechanical *** ceramics with a relative density of 97.12%and a three-point bending strength of 92.4 MPa can be achieved at a sintering temperature of 1300℃,which makes a solid foundation for application in bone ***,a relatively high compressive strength of 4.09 MPa can be also achieved for a DLP-printed p-cell triply periodic minimum surface(TPMS)structure with a porosity of 74%,which meets the requirement of cancellous bone substitutes.A further cell proliferation test demonstrated that the sintering atmosphere of wet CO2 led to improve cell vitality after 7 days of cell culture Moreover,with the possible benefit from the bio-inspired structure,the 3D-printed TPMS structure significantly improved the cell vitality,which is crucial for early osteogenesis and osteointegration.

Airborne bacteria play key roles in terrestrial and marine ecosystems and human health,yet our understanding of bacterial communities and their response to the environmental variables lags significantly behind that of other components of PM_(2.5).Here,atmospheric fine particles obtained from urban and suburb Shanghai were analyzed by using the qPCR and Illumina Miseq *** bacteria with an average concentration of 2.12× 10^(3 )cells/m^(3),were dominated by Sphingomonas,Curvibacter,Acinetobacter,Bradyrhizobium,Methylobacterium,Halomonas,Aliihoeflea,and Phyllobacterium,which were related to the nitrogen,carbon,sulfur cycling and human health *** results provide a global survey of bacterial community across urban,suburb,and high-altitude *** Shanghai(China),urban PM2.5 harbour more diverse and dynamic bacterial populations than that in the *** structural equation model explained about 27%,41%,and 20%^78%of the variance found in bacteria diversity,concentration,and discrepant genera among urban and suburb *** work furthered the knowledge of diverse bacteria in a coastal Megacity in the Yangtze river delta and emphasized the potential impact of environmental variables on bacterial community structure.

A Facile Synthesized Robust Catalyst for Efficient Regeneration of Biphasic Solvent in Co2 Capture: Characterization, Performance, and Mechanism

Amine-based technology is promising for CO2 capture from the flue gas. However, it encounters high energy penalty and thus hampers its industrial application. Currently, the catalytic solvent regeneration is developing to lower down regeneration temperature, accelerate regeneration rate, and cut down energy consumption for monoethanolamine (MEA)-based process. However, the information on catalytic regeneration of biphasic solvent is seldom available. This work develops a facile synthesized robust catalyst, α-Fe2O3, to promote the biphasic solvent regeneration such as triethylenetetramine (TETA) and 2-(diethylamino) ethanol (DEEA) blend. Experimental results revealed that, with the aid of α-Fe2O3, the efficient regeneration of TETA-DEEA occurred at 94 oC, which is far below the conventional MEA-based process (110-120 oC). The corresponding CO2 stripping rate increased by 2.4 times compared with uncatalytic scenario. Furthermore, the relative energy consumption was furtherly decreased by 45.2%. Different from MEA regeneration, the biphasic solvent regeneration with α-Fe2O3 depended on the enhancement of water molecules proton donation rather than the abundant Brønsted acid and Lewis acid of the catalyst. Based on DFT calculation and 13C NMR spectra analysis, the water molecules on α-Fe2O3 surface and the protonated DEEA were parallel served as proton donors for carbamate decomposition. Consequently, a novel proton transfer mechanism was proposed for the biphasic solvent TETA-DEEA regeneration. The water molecules adsorbed on α-Fe2O3 surface generated oxyhydrogen groups and thus donate protons for the carbamate decomposition. This work proposes a novel proton transfer mechanism for solvent regeneration and advances its industrial application with a low energy penalty. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A binary LiMn2O4/carbon nanotubes (LMO/CNT) composite is effectively synthesized through a simplistic hydrothermal method. Morphologies, structures and the electrochemical properties of LMO/CNT hybrid as cathode material are detailed studied in rechargeable hybrid aqueous batteries (ReHABs). The about 300 nm LiMn2O4 particles with spheroid morphology are anchored among the wrinkled and twisted carbon nanotubes. The LMO/CNT electrode in ReHAB displays better rate capability and excellent cyclability than pristine LMO electrode. The reversible discharge capacities of LMO/CNT electrode in ReHAB are 128.5 mAh/g, 125.3 mAh/g, 118.1 mAh/g, 107.1 mAh/g, 92.5 mAh/g and 71.9 mAh/g at the current density of 0.2 C, 0.5 C, 1.0 C, 2.0 C, 5.0 C and 10.0 C, respectively. The strengthened electrochemical properties are profited from the energetic impacts of carbon nanotubes, which knit an interlaced electrical conductive network, insuring the ceaseless electron pathway in solid material and restraining the volumetric change of LiMn2O4 particles during the lithium ions intercalation and deintercalation. © VDE VERLAG GMBH ∙ Berlin ∙ Offenbach.

LRASGen: LLM-based RESTful API Specification Generation

REpresentation State Transfer (REST) is an architectural style for designing web applications that enable scalable, stateless communication between clients and servers via common HTTP techniques. Web APIs that employ the REST style are known as RESTful (or REST) APIs. When using or testing a RESTful API, developers may need to employ its specification, which is often defined by open-source standards such as the OpenAPI Specification (OAS). However, it can be very time-consuming and error-prone to write and update these specifications, which may negatively impact the use of RESTful APIs, especially when the software requirements change. Many tools and methods have been proposed to solve this problem, such as Respector and Swagger Core. OAS generation can be regarded as a common text-generation task that creates a formal description of API endpoints derived from the source code. A potential solution for this may involve using Large Language Models (LLMs), which have strong capabilities in both code understanding and text generation. Motivated by this, we propose a novel approach for generating the OASs of RESTful APIs using LLMs: LLM-based RESTful API-Specification Generation (LRASGen). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first use of LLMs and API source code to generate OASs for RESTful APIs. Compared with existing tools and methods, LRASGen can generate the OASs, even when the implementation is incomplete (with partial code, and/or missing annotations/comments, etc.). To evaluate the LRASGen performance, we conducted a series of empirical studies on 20 real-world RESTful APIs: These studies examined the precision, recall, and F1-score when identifying the four main entities, i.e., endpoint methods and parameters, parameter constraints, and endpoint responses. The results show that two LLMs (GPT-4o mini and DeepSeek V3) can both support LARSGen to generate accurate specifications, and LRASGen-generated specifications cover an average of 48.85% more missed entit

A Probabilistic Formula for Sediment Incipient Motion on Combined Sloping Beds by Considering the Hiding-Exposure Effect

The threshold probability of sediment incipient motion is a critically important mechanism in bedload transport during the process of coastal erosion and riverbed evolution in natural rivers. Many studies have focused on grain size variability and flow condition as uncertainties in sediment incipient motion, but few have investigated the role of initial particle position on combined sloping beds, although this has long been suspected to affect bedload transport. Here our study aims to provide a theoretical equation of sediment incipient motion velocity on combined sloping beds by considering the hiding-exposure effect of grouped particles, then the validity of the proposed formula was investigated by comparing with the flume test data, field observations and other typical formulae. The results show that: (i) the proposed formula in this study show a higher accuracy with the flume and field observations, with the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient (NSE) of 0.932, which is obviously higher than other formulae;(ii) the unified formula of sediment incipient motion velocity in this study can be simplified to other formulae on different sloping beds, i.e., the transverse riverbank slope bed, the longitudinal slope bed and the horizontal plane;(iii) the theoretical range of the sediment exposure angle on the longitudinal slope bed is from 0° to 90°-β, and the mean exposure angle can be set to (90°-β)/2. Furthermore, the additional mass force and incipient motion velocity increase with the increasing sediment exposure angle, but the influence of sediment exposure angle on them of coarse sediment is much greater than that of the fine sediment. However, the incipient motion velocity decreased with the increasing longitudinal slope angle and transverse slope angle, especially for the coarse sediment.
