In this work, a novel controllable chaotic stirring strategy that basic speed with chaotic mappings is proposed to enhance the solid-liquid mixing state quality. Specially, the modern statistical image analysis technique is introduced to explore the intensification mechanism of the mixing process. Results show that the best experimental conditions are obtained by studying the influence of factors such as the type of chaotic mapping, the speed change time, and the basic speed on the mixing state quality. Moreover, the case in which the basic speed is set to 150 r/min generated by the cascaded Logistic-Cubic chaotic mapping is the best while the speed change time is set to 5 s and the fluctuation threshold is 30. The mixing time of this case is 50 s and the shortest, energy consumption is 1.64 × 104 W/m3 and appropriate, the solid particle suspension quality is 83 and the best. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

Towards Fully Decoupled End-to-End Person Search

End-to-end person search aims to jointly detect and re-identify a target person in raw scene images with a unified model. The detection task unifies all persons while the re-id task discriminates different identities, resulting in conflict optimal objectives. Existing works proposed to decouple end-to-end person search to alleviate such conflict. Yet these methods are still sub-optimal on one or two of the sub-tasks due to their partially decoupled models, which limits the overall person search performance. In this paper, we propose to fully decouple person search towards optimal person search. A task-incremental person search network is proposed to incrementally construct an end-to-end model for the detection and re-id sub-task, which decouples the model architecture for the two sub-tasks. The proposed task-incremental network allows task-incremental training for the two conflicting tasks. This enables independent learning for different objectives thus fully decoupled the model for persons earch. Comprehensive experimental evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed fully decoupled models for end-to-end person search. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The oxygen vacancies and micro-nano structure can optimize the electron/Li+migration kinetics in anode materials for lithium batteries(LIBs).Here,porous micro-nano structured VNb_(9)O_(25)composites with rich oxygen vacancies were reasonably prepared via a facile solvothermal method combined with annealing treatment at 800℃for 30 h(VNb_(9)O_(25)-30 h).This micro-nano structure can enhance the contact of active material/electrolyte,and shorten the Li+diffusion *** introduction of oxygen vacancies can further boosts the intrinsic conductivity of VNb_(9)O_(25)-30 h for achieving excellent LIB *** as-prepared VNb_(9)O_(25)-30 h anode showed advanced rate capability with reversible capacity of 122.2 m A h g^(-1)at 4 A g^(-1),and delivered excellent capacity retention of~100%after 2000 ***,VNb_(9)O_(25)-30 h provides unexpected long-cycle life(i.e.,reversible capacity of 165.7 m A h g^(-1)at 1 A g^(-1)with a high capacity retention of 85.6%even after 8000 cycles).Additionally,coupled with the Li Fe PO4 cathode,the Li Fe PO4//VNb_(9)O_(25)-30 h full cell delivers superior LIB properties with high reversible capacities of 91.6 m A h g^(-1)at 5 C for 1000 ***,such reasonable construction method can assist in other high-performance niobium-based oxides in LIBs.

Driving Forces of Residential Co2 Emission Inequality from the Perspective of Energy Use Pattern and Income Disparities

Carbon emissions from end-use energy consumption have been increasing for a long time and have become a major factor in the growth of regional carbon emissions, which has attracted widespread attention. The complex geographic-related climate situation and various development levels have created differences in residential energy use patterns and income changes, leading to inequalities in residential CO 2 emissions among regions. Therefore, this study investigated residential CO 2 emissions at a provincial scale in China during the period of 1997–2019. The objective was to establish a decomposition model of carbon inequality in order to propose policy recommendations for the differential reduction of carbon emissions. The findings showed that inequality decreased between 1997 and 2008, and then stabilized. Energy structure, energy intensity, and income per capita were the main factors explaining the differences in per capita carbon emissions among regions. The energy intensity effect was the main effect that decreased the inequality, while the energy use pattern increased it. For most inland regions, the within-group inequity in residential CO 2 emissions was mainly due to energy input per income, while the inequality of coastal regions could be explained by the differences in income per capita. Regarding energy use inequality, the energy intensity effect was the main driving force behind the inequality in heat and fuel energy use, but it had a smaller influence on the electricity consumption inequality. Regional targeted recommendations can help differentiate emission reduction plans among regions. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A new assistant robot system for abdominal minimally invasive surgery is proposed in this paper to meet the needs of traditional abdominal surgeries. The system is comprised primarily of a robotic arm system, end-effectors and a master manipulator. A novel remote center mechanism is proposed in the robotic arm system, furthermore, a flexible end-effector and a seven-degree-of-freedom master manipulator are designed independently. Based on this new assistant robot system for abdominal minimally invasive surgery, hand-eye coordination intuitive control is implemented, and relevant experiments are designed to validate the control system and control algorithm.

Salinity impacts lake microorganisms in arid and semiarid zones, affecting climate change. Viruses regulate community structure, facilitate gene transfer, and mediate nutrient cycling. However, studies on the diversity and functional differences of viruses in lakes of varying salinity are limited. Thus, we investigated metagenomic data from 20 lakes in Xinjiang Province, China, to determine viral distribution, virus-host linkage, function, and drivers in lakes of varying salinity. The results showed that salinity shaped the distribution of viral community composition, and Hafunaviridae was the dominant virus in high-salinity lakes. All the MAGs belonging to Halobacteriota were predicted as hosts, with a lysogenic lifestyle predominating the life strategy, implying their potential protection in salt lakes. Moreover, some auxiliary metabolic genes (AMGs), such as cpeT and PTOX, were related to antioxidant and stress responses, which might help the host survive high salinity stress-induced peroxidation. Notably, the main antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) carried by viruses, which conferred resistance to polymyxin and trimethoprim, related to the local use of veterinary antibiotics, suggesting that they are potential vehicles for the transmission of ARGs. Overall, these findings suggest that lake systems include unique viral variety that may influence microbial ecosystems and host metabolism related to environmental adaptability. © 2024, The Authors. Constructing heterostructure is an efficient strategy to develop high-performance electrocatalysts. Herein, two-dimensional heterostructure NiFeP@FeOOH nanosheets supported by nickel foam are equipped by hydrothermal-phosphorization-electrodeposition processes. The findings indicate that in 1.0 M KOH alkaline solution, NiFeP@FeOOH/NF showed an OER overpotential of 235 mV at 100 mA cm-2, a Tafel slope of 75.85 mV dec-1 and worked stably at 50 mA cm-2 for 80 h. The synthesis of self-supporting heterostructure NiFeP@FeOOH nanosheets on the NF can increase the electron transfer rate, increase the specific surface region, and boost the rate at which produced bubbles are released from the electrode. Additionally, the incorporation of FeOOH into NiFeP nanosheets can provide sufficient active sites for the reaction, favor the form of intermediates containing oxygen (hydroxyl oxides), and promote water splitting. The NiFeP@FeOOH/NF electrocatalytic activity is significantly improved. This research proves the importance of constructing heterostructure and introducing FeOOH are of great significance to the study of the properties of OER electrocatalysts. © 2023, The Authors. Decarbonization initiatives play a major role in avoiding worldwide climate change effects. One of the effective actions is expected to upgrade existing aged coal-fired plants to retrofitted coal-fired plants by installing pollution reduction technology for emission reduction. Besides this merit, retrofitted coal-fired units can enable faster ramp rates and achieve lower minimal output power levels, which substantially relieves the peak regulation stress. In this paper, we focus on the dynamic ramp rate characteristics and then derive a new family of nonlinear ramping margin formulations of retrofitted coal-fired units. Moreover, we further tighten proposed nonlinear ramping margins to be a set of linear constraints with a minor inner approximation error. Results of case study validate the effectiveness of the proposed dynamic ramping margin formulation for retrofitted coal-fired power units.

A semi-empirical equation of state model for aluminum in a warm dense matter regime is constructed. The equation of state, which is subdivided into a cold term, thermal contributions of ions and electrons, covers a broad range of phase diagram from solid state to plasma state. The cold term and thermal contribution of ions are from the Bushman–Lomonosov model, in which several undetermined parameters are fitted based on equation of state theories and specific experimental data. The Thomas–Fermi–Kirzhnits model is employed to estimate the thermal contribution of electrons. Some practical modifications are introduced to the Thomas–Fermi–Kirzhnits model to improve the prediction of the equation of state model. Theoretical calculation of thermodynamic parameters, including phase diagram, curves of isothermal compression at ambient temperature, melting, and Hugoniot, are analyzed and compared with relevant experimental data and other theoretical evaluations.

Series Elastic Actuator-based exoskeleton can offer precise torque control and transparency when interacting with human wearers. Accurate control of SEA-produced torques ensures the wearer’s voluntary motion and supports the implementation of multiple assistive paradigms. In this paper, a novel variable transmission series elastic actuator (VTSEA) is developed to meet torque-speed requirements in different exoskeleton-assisted locomotion modes, such as running, walking, sit-to-stand, and stand-to-sit. The VTSEA features a SEA-coupled variable transmission ratio adjusting mechanism and works between three discrete levels of transmission ratio depending on the user’s initiative. The proposed prototype can also improve transparency in human-robot interaction. Also, an accurate torque controller with inertial compensation is developed for the VTSEA via the singular perturbation theory, and its stability is proved. The feasibility of the proposed VTSEA prototype and the precise output torque performance of VTSEA are verified by experiments.
