Photocatalytic hydrogen generation represents a promising strategy for the establishment of a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy ***,the current solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency is not yet sufficient for practical hydrogen production,highlighting the need for further research and ***,we report the synthesis of a Sn-doped TiO_(2)continuous homojunction hollow sphere,achieved through controlled calcination *** incorporation of a gradient doping profile has been demonstrated to generate a gradient in the band edge energy,facilitating carrier orientation ***,the hollow sphere’s outer and inner sides provide spatially separated reaction sites allowing for the separate acceptance of holes and electrons,which enables the rapid utilization of carriers after *** a result,the hollow sphere TiO_(2)with gradient Sn doping exhibits a significantly increased hydrogen production rate of 20.1 mmol·g^(−1)·h^(−1).This study offers a compelling and effective approach to the designing and fabricating highly efficient nanostructured photocatalysts for solar energy conversion applications.

Modeling and Experimental Study of an Open Two-Phase Loop Driven by Osmotic Pressure and Capillary Force

As space technology advances,thermal control systems must effectively collect and dissipate heat from distributed,multi-source *** heat pipe is a highly reliable two-phase heat transfer component,but it has several limitations when addressing multi-source heat *** by the transport and heat dissipation system of plants,large trees achieve stable and efficient liquid supply under the influence of two driving forces:capillary force during transpiration in the leaves(pull)and root pressure generated by osmotic pressure in the roots(push).The root pressure provides an effective liquid supply with a driving force exceeding 2 MPa,far greater than the driving force in conventional capillary-pumped two-phase *** has shown that osmotic heat pipes offer a powerful driving force,and combining osmotic pressure with capillary force has significant ***,this paper designs a multi-evaporator,dual-drive two-phase loop,using both osmotic pressure and capillary force to solve the multi-source heat dissipation ***,a transmembrane water flux model for the osmotic pressure-driven device was established to predict the maximum heat transfer capacity of the dual-drive two-phase ***,an experimental setup for a multi-evaporator“osmotic pressure+capillary force”dual-drive two-phase loop was constructed,capable of transferring at least 235 W of power under a reverse gravity condition of 20 *** study also analyzed the effects of reverse gravity height,heat load distribution among the three evaporators,startup sequence,and varying branch resistances on the performance of the dual-drive two-phase loop.

In situ calibrated angle between the quantization axis and the propagating direction of the light field for trapping neutral atoms

The recently developed magic-intensity trapping technique of neutral atoms efficiently mitigates the detrimental effect of light shifts on atomic qubits and substantially enhances the coherence time. This technique relies on applying a bias magnetic field precisely parallel to the wave vector of a circularly polarized trapping laser field. However, due to the presence of the vector light shift experienced by the trapped atoms, it is challenging to precisely define a parallel magnetic field, especially at a low bias magnetic field strength, for the magic-intensity trapping of85Rb qubits. In this work, we present a method to calibrate the angle between the bias magnetic field and the trapping laser field with the compensating magnetic fields in the other two directions orthogonal to the bias magnetic field direction. Experimentally, with a constantdepth trap and a fixed bias magnetic field, we measure the respective resonant frequencies of the atomic qubits in a linearly polarized trap and a circularly polarized one via the conventional microwave Rabi spectra with different compensating magnetic fields and obtain the corresponding total magnetic fields via the respective resonant frequencies using the Breit–Rabi formula. With known total magnetic fields, the angle is a function of the other two compensating magnetic ***, the projection value of the angle on either of the directions orthogonal to the bias magnetic field direction can be reduced to 0(4)° by applying specific compensating magnetic fields. The measurement error is mainly attributed to the fluctuation of atomic temperature. Moreover, it also demonstrates that, even for a small angle, the effect is strong enough to cause large decoherence of Rabi oscillation in a magic-intensity trap. Although the compensation method demonstrated here is explored for the magic-intensity trapping technique, it can be applied to a variety of similar precision measurements with trapped neutral atoms.

Bootstrap-Based Layerwise Refining for Causal Structure Learning

Learning causal structures from observational data is critical for causal discovery and many machine learning tasks. Traditional constraint-based methods first adopt conditional independence (CI) tests to learn a global skeleton layer by layer and then orient the undirected edges to obtain a causal structure. However, the reliability of these statistical tests largely depends on the quality of data samples. In real-life scenarios, the presence of data noise or limited samples often makes many CI tests unreliable at each layer in the skeleton learning phase, leading to an inaccurate skeleton. As the number of layers increases, the inaccurate skeleton will continue to impair the skeleton construction of subsequent layers. Furthermore, an unreliable skeleton hampers the skeleton orientation procedure, resulting in an unsatisfactory causal structure. In this article, we propose a Bootstrap-based layerwise refining (BLR) algorithm for causal structure learning, which includes two new procedures to solve the above problems. First, BLR utilizes a novel layerwise skeleton refining procedure to construct the global skeleton layer by layer based on the bootstrap sampling. Second, BLR employs a collective skeleton orientation procedure that incorporates scoring techniques to collectively orient the global skeleton. The experimental results show that BLR outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on the benchmark Bayesian Network datasets. © 2020 IEEE.

A Sequential Rotation Filtering Network for High Circular Polarization Purity Antenna Array

This letter introduces a sequential rotation filtering network (SRFN), enabling a 16×16 antenna array to achieve high circular polarization (CP) purity and enhanced frequency selectivity. The proposed SRFN integrates filtering, power dividing, and phase shifting functions, providing phase states of 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° at the four output ports with 7th-order filtering response. Moreover, four sets of 8×8 subarrays are arranged orthogonally and connected to the outputs of the SRFN. Finally, a 16×16 antenna array is monolithically fabricated using the 3-D printing technology. Measurement results demonstrate an operating bandwidth (return loss >10 dB) of 27.7-29.6 GHz, with the radiation gain ranging from 29.5 to 30.5 dBic. Due to the proposed SRFN, the in-band axial ratio (AR) remains lower than 0.5 dB, while the out-of-band realized gain suppression exceeds 30 dB/GHz. The proposed SRFN methodology serves as an integrated feeding network for antenna arrays requiring high CP purity and frequency selectivity. © 2023 IEEE.

The alarming prevalence and mortality rates associated with cardiovascular diseases have emphasized the urgency for innovative detection *** methods,often costly,bulky,and prone to subjectivity,fall short of meeting the need for daily *** and portable wearable monitoring devices have emerged as a promising research *** study introduces a wearable system that integrates electrocardiogram(ECG)and phonocardiogram(PCG)*** ingeniously pairing a contact-type PZT heart sound sensing structure with ECG electrodes,the system achieves the acquisition of high-quality ECG and PCG ***,the signal-to-noise ratios(SNR)for ECG and PCG signals were measured at 44.13 dB and 30.04 dB,respectively,demonstrating the system’s remarkable stability across varying *** collected signals were subsequently utilized to derive crucial feature values,including electromechanical delay(EMD),left ventricular ejection time(LVET),and pre-ejection period(PEP).Furthermore,we collected a dataset comprising 40 cases of ECG and PCG signals,enabling a comparative analysis of these three feature parameters between healthy individuals and coronary heart disease *** research endeavor presents a significant step forward in the realm of early,non-invasive,and intelligent monitoring of cardiovascular diseases,offering hope for earlier detection and more effective management of these life-threatening conditions.

Adaptive VDI Session Placement via User Logoff Prediction

After the global pandemic,DaaS(desktop as a service)has become the first choice of many companies’remote working *** the desktops are usually deployed in the public cloud when using DaaS,customers are more cost-sensitive which boosts the requirement of proactive power *** researches in this area focus on virtual desktop infrastructure(VDI)session logon behavior modeling,but for the remote desktop service host(RDSH)-shared desktop pools,logoff optimization is also *** systems place sessions by round-robin or in a pre-defined order without considering their logoff ***,these approaches usually suffer from the situation that few left sessions prevent RDSH servers from being powered-off which introduces cost *** this paper,we propose session placement via adaptive user logoff prediction(SODA),an innovative compound model towards proactive RDSH session ***,an ensemble machine learning model that can predict session logoff time is combined with a statistical session placement bucket model to place RDSH sessions with similar logoff time in a more centralized manner on RDSH ***,the infrastructure cost-saving can be improved by reducing the resource waste introduced by those RDSH hosts with very few hanging sessions left for a long *** on real RDSH pool data demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed proactive session placement approach against existing static placement techniques.

This paper describes a multi target drug design method based on features of the target proteins. The multi target drug which inhibit multiple proteins have prospective applications, but design is difficult. In this study, the target protein sequences are embedded to obtain target features. The features of each target are independently encoded as target latent vectors, and the features of multiple targets are jointly encoded as target similarity latent vectors. Based on the features of targets and the similarity features among the targets, multi target drugs are efficiently designed. In the experiments, the designed multi target drugs can be docked with target proteins with a proprietary molecular structure according to the requirements of different target pocket structures. The excellent fitness among the molecular structure of multi target drugs and the protein structure of multiple targets confirms the performance of the proposed method. In the molecular docking part of the experi¬ments, the binding affinity of designed multi target drugs is far better than that in the previous studies, which administrates the better performance of this work. © 2024 IEEE.
