Hydrogen is garnering growing attention as a green energy source with zero carbon ***,most hydrogen production technologies still rely on the consumption of fossil fuels and are therefore *** has driven the search for more environmentally friendly methods of hydrogen *** this work,we present an innovative approach to enhance hydrogen generation via electrostatic interaction in the Escherichia coli and defective titanium dioxide(TiO_(2−x))*** method involves narrowing the forbidden bandwidth of TiO2 while introducing defect bands into its conduction band to facilitate visible light absorption and efficient charge *** biohybrid system,consisting of *** and TiO_(2−x),demonstrates a remarkable capability to produce 1.25 mmol of hydrogen within a 3-h timeframe under visible light *** accomplishment signifies a 3.31-fold rise in hydrogen production in comparison to ***,signifying a substantial enhancement in hydrogen production ***,we delve into the alterations in biological metabolites associated with hydrogen production and the changes in electron transfer in different biohybrid *** provides valuable insights into the understanding of the intrinsic mechanisms that drive the *** work introduces a novel and promising avenue for achieving this exciting goal.

A grapefruit microstructure fiber temperature sensor coated with liquid crystal based on waist-enlarged taper

In this paper, a grapefruit microstructure fiber(GMF) temperature sensor coated with liquid crystal(LC) based on waist-enlarged taper is proposed and fabricated, and its temperature sensing characteristics are analyzed. The waist-enlarged taper is formed at the fusion point between single mode fiber(SMF) and GMF. The capillary glass tube is sleeved outside GMF, LC is filled into the capillary glass tube, and its two ends are finally sealed to form a sensor. The experimental results show that when the length of GMF is 2.5 cm, the temperature sensitivity of the sensor can reach up to 195.3 pm/℃ in the range of 30-90℃, and it has a good stability for reuse. Thereby, it can be used in biochemical, industrial production and other temperature detection areas.

Optimizing the orientation of β-Ga2O3 has emerged as an effective strategy to design high-performanceβ-Ga2O3 device,but the orientation growth mechanism and approach have not been revealed ***,by employing AlN buffer layer,the highly preferred orientation of β-Ga2O3(100)film rather than(-201)film is realized on 4H-SiC substrate at low sputtering power and *** β-Ga2O3(100)film exhibits a slower growth speed than(-201)film,the former possesses the higher dangling bond density and the lower nucleation energy,and a large conversion barrier exists between these two ***,the AlN buffer layer can suppress the surface oxidation of the 4H-SiC substrate and eliminate the strain of β-Ga2O3(100)film,which further reduces the nucleation energy and en-larges the conversion ***,the AlN buffer layer can increase the oxygen vacancy formation energy and decrease the oxygen vacancy concentration of β-Ga2O3(100)***,the solar-blind photodetector based on the oriented film exhibits the outstanding detectivity of 1.22 × 1012 Jones and photo-to-dark current ratio of 1.11 × 105,which are the highest among the reported β-Ga2O3 solar-blind photodetector on the SiC *** results offer in-depth insights into the preferred orientation growth mechanism,and provide an effective way to design high-quality β-Ga2O3(100)orientation film and high-performance solar-blind photodetector.

Two new photon-modulated spin coherent states(SCSs)are introduced by operating the spin ladder operators J±on the ordinary SCS in the Holstein-Primakoff realization and the nonclassicality is exhibited via their photon number distribution,second-order correlation function,photocount distribution and negativity of Wigner *** results show that the photocount distribution is a Bernoulli distribution and the Wigner functions are only associated with two-variable Hermite *** with the ordinary SCS,the photon-modulated SCSs exhibit more stronger nonclassicality in certain regions of the photon modulated number k and spin number j,which means that the nonclassicality can be enhanced by selecting suitable parameters.

Drogue detection for autonomous aerial refueling via hybrid pigeon-inspired optimized color opponent and saliency aggregation

Drogue detection is one of the challenging tasks in autonomous aerial refueling due to the requirement for accuracy and *** detection based on image intrinsic cues can achieve fast detection,but with poor *** studies reveal that optimization-based methods provide accurate and quick solutions for saliency *** paper presents a hybrid pigeon-inspired optimization method,the optimized color opponent,that aims to adjust the weight of color opponent channels to detect the drogue *** can optimize the weights in the selected aerial refueling scene offline,and the results are applied for drogue detection in the scene.A novel algorithm aggregated by the optimized color opponent and robust background detection is presented to provide better precision and *** results on benchmark datasets and aerial refueling images show that the proposed method successfully extracts the saliency region or drogue and exhibits superior performance against the other saliency detection methods with intrinsic *** algorithm designed in this paper is competent for the drogue detection task of autonomous aerial refueling.

GITANet: Group Interactive Threshold-based Attention Network for Hyperspectral Image Classification

Group convolution networks have shown great potential in hyperspectral image (HSI) classification because of their ability to divide total spectral bands into multiple groups and focus on fine discrimination within different spectral ranges. Most group convolution networks process parallel spectral groups independently;however, they neglect the important relevance of nearby spectral ranges. Moreover, the feature maps from different spectral groups are not considered for recalibration in the existing attention. To address these issues, we propose a novel group interactive threshold attention network (GITANet). In the network, a stratified-split-concatenation strategy, which not only splits all bands into multiple groups for intragroup convolution but also propagates the intergroup information via the stratified concatenation operation between different groups, is designed for bandwise group convolution. Relying on the high dependencies among nearby spectra, the cross-group interactive attention block is designed to encourage significant spectral features. Subsequently, from different spectral ranges, a learnable threshold generation block is built to estimate the information validity of each pixel. On the basis of this threshold, soft threshold spatial attention is developed in the bandwise encoderdecoder architecture, which emphasizes high-value spatial areas during the fusion of group convolutional features. Therefore, complementary and discriminative spectral-spatial features are obtained to improve the performance of HSI classification. The experimental results on three HSI datasets illustrate that GITANet is superior to several state-of-the-art networks. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

Towards Gradient Equalization and Feature Diversification for Long-Tailed Multi-Label Image Recognition

Multi-label image recognition with convolutional neural networks has achieved remarkable progress in the past few years. However, most existing multi-label image recognition methods suffer from the long-tailed data distribution problem, i.e., head categories occupy most training samples, while tailed classes have few samples. This work firstly studies the influence of long-tailed data distribution on existing multi-label image recognition methods. Based on this, two crucial issues of the existing methods are identified: 1) severe gradient imbalance between head and tailed categories, even though re-balancing strategies are adopted;2) the lack of diversity of tail category training samples. To tackle the first issue, this paper proposes a group sampling strategy to create group- wise balanced data distribution. Meanwhile, a dynamic gradient balancing loss is proposed to equalize the gradient for all categories. To tackle the second issue, this paper proposes a diversity enhancement module to fuse the information across all categories, preventing the network from overfitting tail classes. Furthermore, it also balances the gradient, promoting the discriminability of learned classifiers. Our method significantly outperforms the baseline method and achieves competitive performance with state-of-the-art methods on VOC-LT and COCO-LT datasets. Extensive ablation studies are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the essential proposals. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

Developing highly robust and efficient electrode materials is of critical importance to promoting the energy density of current supercapacitors for ***,we report an efficient catalyst with monodispersed Mn single-atoms embedded in carbon nanotubes(Mn-CNTs)for enhancing the electrode performance of supercapacitors.A high specific capacitance(1523.6 F·g^(-1) at 1.0 A·g^(-1))can be achieved,which is about twice as high as the specific capacitance of the electrode material without the introduction of Mn ***,the asymmetric electrochemical capacitor created with Mn-CNT and activated carbon exhibits a high energy density of 180.8 Wh·kg^(-1) at a power density of 1.4 kW·kg^(-1),much higher than most reported *** study shows that the integration of Mn atoms into the CNT can enhance the charge transport capacity and the number of polar active sites of Mn-CNT and then facilitate chemical interactions between Mn-CNT and OH-.This work provides a novel strategy to enable high-energy storage in supercapacitors by introducing single-atoms into carbon nanotubes to improve electrodes’energy density and cycle life.

Fabricating low-strain and fast-charging silicon-carbon composite anodes is highly desired but remains a huge challenge for lithium-ion ***,we report a unique silicon-carbon composite fabricated by uniformly dis-persing amorphous Si nanodots(SiNDs)in carbon nanospheres(SiNDs/C)that are welded on the wall of the macroporous carbon framework(MPCF)by vertical graphene(VG),labeled as MPCF@VG@SiNDs/*** high dispersity and amor-phous features of ultrasmall SiNDs(~0.7 nm),the flexible and directed electron/Li+transport channels of VG,and the MPCF impart the MPCF@VG@SiNDs/C more lithium storage sites,rapid Li+transport path,and unique low-strain property during Li+***,the MPCF@VG@SiNDs/C exhibits high cycle stability(1301.4 mAh g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) after 1000 cycles without apparent decay)and high rate capacity(910.3 mAh g^(-1),20 A g^(-1))in half cells based on industrial electrode *** assembled pouch full cell delivers a high energy density(1694.0 Wh L^(-1);602.8 Wh kg^(-1))and an excellent fast-charging capability(498.5 Wh kg^(-1),charging for 16.8 min at 3 C).This study opens new possibilities for preparing advanced silicon-carbon com-posite anodes for practical applications.

Semantic Coherence Guided Multiview Similarity for Image Classification with Varied Supervision

Pairwise similarity has been widely used for image classification by propagating the class information from labeled images to unlabeled images and predicting the classes of unlabeled images accordingly. Although widely used, pairwise similarity based classification methods have two drawbacks. On one hand, visual-semantic similarity consistency does not always hold due to semantic gap. On the other hand, the reliability of pairwise similarity is also influenced by the number and underlying distribution of labeled images. A well-designed classification model cannot be easily generalized to few-shot classification tasks. To solve these two problems, in this article, we propose a semantic coherence guided multiview similarity (SCG-MV) for image classification method with varied supervision levels. We measure the semantic coherence between image pairs for classifier learning. This is achieved by first conducting line search along the line segment between each image pair, and then measure the semantics of each interval. The similarity of one image pair can then be obtained by aggregating the semantic coherence of all the intervals. In this way, we can model image similarities more finely and discriminatively. To make use of multiview information, we also use the semantic coherence guided image similarities to learn multiview classifiers. The proposed semantic coherence guided method can be combined with other similarity based methods for image classification with various levels of supervision. We conduct both few-shot and fully supervised classification experiments on four datasets with the results well prove the discriminative power and generalization ability of the proposed method. © 2020 IEEE.
