Generating micro/nanostructures on magnesium alloy surface using ultraprecision diamond surface texturing process

The lightness and high strength-to-weight ratio of the magnesium alloy have attracted more interest in various ***,micro/nanostructure generation on their surfaces remains a challenge due to the flammability and *** by this,this study proposed a machining process,named the ultraprecision diamond surface texturing process,to machine the micro/nanostructures on magnesium alloy *** results showed the various microstructures and sawtooth-shaped nanostructures were successfully generated on the AZ31B magnesium alloy surfaces,demonstrating the effectiveness of this proposed machining ***,sawtooth-shaped nanostructures had the function of inducing the optical effect and generating different colors on workpiece *** colorful letter and colorful flower image were clearly viewed on magnesium alloy *** corresponding cutting force,chip morphology,and tool wear were systematically investigated to understand the machining mechanism of micro/nanostructures on magnesium alloy *** proposed machining process can further improve the performances of the magnesium alloy and extend its functions to other fields,such as optics.

As an essential component of terrestrial ecosystems, grassland ecosystems cover a large portion of the Earth's surface and provide significant benefits, including soil and water conservation as well as biodiversity preservation. They play an irreplaceable role in maintaining ecological balance and supporting human society. However, among the existing polarimetric decomposition algorithms, there is a lack of decomposition algorithms built for grassland characteristics. To address this problem, this paper proposes a polarimetric SAR data decomposition algorithm based on two mutually orthogonal rank-1 scattering models, enabling better separation of the corresponding scattering mechanisms. On this basis, the commonly used uniformly oriented dipole model is replaced with a volume scattering model of dual dominant-oriented dipoles, tailored to the characteristics of grassland structures, such as houses. This adjustment results in decomposition outcomes that are more consistent with real-world scenarios. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method not only provides more accurate decomposition results but also has the advantage of reducing negative power components. © 2024 IEEE.

Spatio-temporal Constrained Geomagnetic Indoor Localization with Arbitrary Walking Speed

This paper focuses on the accuracy and practicality of geomagnetic-based indoor localization in large-scale real-world sites. Previous studies often use continuous geomagnetic sequences for better discriminability but ignore that longer sequences, while more accurate, increase response times. Shorter sequences enhance practicality but sacrifice accuracy. Additionally, varying walking speeds can cause sequence variations along the same path, leading to ambiguity. To address these challenges, we propose a spatial-temporal constrained indoor localization model (STC-loc) that enables both accurate and practical localization using geomagnetic sequences collected at arbitrary walking speeds. Specifically, we first design a speed-oriented adaptive normalization module to tackle the walking speed heterogeneity problem. Then to balance accuracy and practicality, we initially employ shorter sequences as input and a self-attention hierarchical structure to efficiently extract the temporal features for initial location estimation. Subsequently, we further apply an Encoder-Decoder based refinement strategy, leveraging spatial contextual for continuous localization to ensure accuracy and robustness. Additionally, a slide-window based two-phase system architecture optimizes processing efficiency and scalability. Experiments on three large-scale real-world sites have demonstrated the superiority of the proposed STC-loc, reducing the localization error by more than 43% with shorter geomagnetic sequences. © 2014 IEEE.

Audio2AB:Audio-driven collaborative generation of virtual character animation

Online Streaming Features Causal Discovery Algorithm Based on Partial Rank Correlation

Aimedat the problem of dynamic causal discovery in the era of artificial intelligence, this article combines partial rank correlation coefficients and streaming features in the field of Bayesian network structure learning and proposes a new online streaming feature causal discovery algorithm based on partial rank correlation named the partial rank casual discovery streaming feature based algorithm. This algorithm is not only suitable for Bayesian causal structure learning in dynamic feature spaces generated by sequential streams of features but can also effectively process multivariate linear Gaussian and nonlinear non-Gaussian data. We present three main contributions. First, for arbitrarily distributed datasets, which can be generated by the additive noise model, we proved that the partial rank correlation coefficient can be used as the criterion for the conditional independence test and explored the distribution of corresponding statistics. Second, the PCSDSF algorithm redefined the relevance based on partial rank statistic prospects and then redefined conditional dependence or independence. This method can significantly reduce the number of conditional independence tests and achieves a good time performance. Finally, theoretical analysis and several experiments proved the reliability of the algorithm. A simulation showed that on average, the PCSDSF algorithm outperforms existing algorithms in terms of both the accuracy and time performance. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently, the application of autonomous driving in open-pit mining has garnered increasing attention for achieving safe and efficient mineral transportation. Compared to urban structured roads, unstructured roads in mining sites have uneven boundaries and lack clearly defined lane markings. This leads to a lack of sufficient constraint information for predicting the trajectories of other human-driven vehicles, resulting in higher uncertainty in trajectory prediction problems. A method is proposed to predict multiple possible trajectories and their probabilities of the target vehicle. The surrounding environment and historical trajectories of the target vehicle are encoded as a rasterized image, which is used as input to our deep convolutional network to predict the target vehicle’s multiple possible trajectories. The method underwent offline testing on a dataset specifically designed for autonomous driving scenarios in open-pit mining and was compared and evaluated against physics-based method. Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs) hold great promise as a viable alternative to lithium-ion batteries owing to their high energy density and environmental ***,AZIBs are consistently plagued by the formation of zinc dendrites and concurrent side reactions,which significantly diminish their overall service life,In this study,the glass fiber separator(GF) is modified using zeolite imidazole salt framework-8(ZIF-8),enabling the development of efficient ***-8,which is abundant in nitrogen content,efficiently regulates the desolvation of [Zn(H_(2)O)_(6)]^(2+) to inhibit hydrogen ***,it possesses abundant nanochannels that facilitate the uniform deposition of Zn~(2+) via a localized action,thereby hindering the formation of *** insulating properties of ZIF-8 help prevent Zn^(2+) and water from trapping electron reduction at the layer surface,which reduces corrosion of the zinc ***,ZIF-8-GF achieves the even transport of Zn^(2+) and regulates the homogeneous deposition along the Zn(002) crystal surface,thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical performance of the AZIBs,In particular,the Zn|Zn symmetric cell with the ZIF-8-GF separator delivers a stable cycle life at0.5 mA cm^(-2) of 2300 *** Zn|ZIF-8-GF|MnO_(2) cell exhibits reduced voltage polarization while maintaining a capacity retention rate(93.4%) after 1200 cycles at 1.2 A g^(-1) The unique design of the modified diaphragm provides a new approach to realizing high-performance AZIBs.
