Node classification on heterogeneous graphs with multiple node types and relationships has been widely used in commodity classification, friend recommendation, and so on. Most of the existing models need to define the meta paths manually with incomplete attribute information, leading to the low accuracy of classification. To improve the accuracy of node classification task, we propose a novel graph neural network with heterogeneous attributes (GNNHA) by introducing the heterogeneous attributes of nodes and edges without defining meta paths. First, we design a spatial mapping for heterogeneous edges by mapping and fusing the source and target nodes to a hidden layer space. Then, we make a unique linear projection for each node to obtain the embeddings containing the attributes of nodes and edges by aggregating the information of neighbor nodes. Finally, we provide an improved loss function by leveraging the information loss of mapping and node class imbalance. Our model can capture more complete heterogeneous graph attributes and obtain more objective and accurate classification results. Experimental results show that our proposed model outperforms state-of-the-art ones. © 2024 IEEE.

Compressed sensing based feature fusion for image retrieval

In the standard vector of locally aggregated descriptors (VLAD) model, the residual norm of each descriptor with corresponding center to the VLAD vector varies significantly, thus the visual similarity measure based on norm measurement will be corrupted. To address the problem, a weighted-residual is used in this paper to balance the distribution of residual norms of all descriptors in the VLAD vector to a certain degree. Moreover, to improve retrieval accuracy, local gradient and local color features of images are extracted and used to our proposed weighted VLAD method. Also, the global structural features and multiple weighted VLAD vectors are fused to represent an image. In order to better fuse these different image features, due to the advantage of collecting key information of original signal by compressed sensing (CS), it is used as a converter to transform the various features into a same feature subspace. Our proposed method is evaluated on three benchmark datasets, i.e., Holidays, Ukbench and Oxford5k. Carbon nitride(CN)has attracted intensive attention as a visible light photocatalyst,but the rapid recombination of photogenerated charge carriers limits its photocatalytic ***,we develop a new strategy to construct both homojunction and ohmic junction into CN via selectively introducing metallized CN(MCN),which leads to rapid separation and transfer of photogenerated charge *** polymerization of urea in the presence of KOH creates CN homojunction with amino and cyano *** subsequent molten salt treatment induces a new type of cyano-terminated CN that can be converted to MCN through photodoping,forming homojunction and ohmic contact coexisting CN(HOCN).The formed HOCN photocatalyst exhibits a high photocatalytic H_(2)evolution rate of 18.5 mmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)under visible light irradiation,45-fold higher than that of bulk *** strategy provides a new idea for designing ohmic contact between semiconductor and metal,and realizing efficient photocatalysis by improving charge separation and transfer.

In this work, an optical fiber sensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is proposed for simultaneous measurement of relative humidity (RH) and temperature, which is constructed by connecting two segments of thin-core fibers (TCFs) using a multimode fiber (MMF). The gold film was coated on TCFs to excite the SPR effect. One was further coated with carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) to sense RH (Channel I), and the other was coated with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to sense temperature (Channel II). The detection was performed via the resonance wavelength shift induced by the refractive index (RI) change of CMC and PDMS in relation to RH variation and temperature variation, respectively. The incorporation of gold nanoparticles enhances the sensitivity of the SPR sensor and shifts the resonance wavelengths, allowing for more outstanding demarcation of the SPR dip between the two portions inside the equivalent spectrum. Experimental results show that the sensor has an RH sensitivity of −1.053 nm/%RH and a temperature sensitivity of −2.306 nm/◦C. Moreover, the cross-sensitivity issue present in RH and temperature measurements was resolved by introducing a dual-wavelength matrix method. The proposed sensor offers high sensitivity, a simple structure, and ease of manufacturing, making it broadly applicable in fields such as food safety, biotechnology, and manufacturing. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. Global video object segmentation with spatial constraint module

Manipulating catalyst structures to control product selectivity while maintaining high activity presents a considerable challenge in CO_(2)*** density functional theory calculations and microkinetic analysis,we proposed that graphene-supported isolated Pt atoms(Pt1/graphene)and Pt_(2)dimers(Pt_(2)/graphene)exhibited distinct selectivity in CO_(2)***_(1)/graphene facilitated the conversion of CO_(2)into formic acid,whereas Pt_(2)/graphene favored methanol *** variation in product selectivity arose from the synergistic interaction of Pt_(2)dimers,which facilitated the migration of H atoms between two Pt atoms and promoted the transformation from*COOH intermediates to*C(OH)_(2)intermediates,altering the reaction pathways compared to isolated Pt ***,an analysis of the catalytic activities of three Pt_(1)/graphene and three Pt_(2)/graphene structures revealed that the turnover frequencies for formic acid generation on Pt_(1ii)/graphene and methanol generation on Pt_(2i)/graphene were as high as 744.48 h-1and 789.48 h^(-1),*** values rivaled or even surpassed those previously reported in the literature under identical *** study provides valuable insights into optimizing catalyst structures to achieve desired products in CO_(2)hydrogenation.

The highly efficient degradation and purification of organic pollutants in wastewater by photocatalysis is still *** this study,a piezoelectric potential-activated interfacial electric field(IEF)was constructed to endow BiFeO_(3)@BaTiO_(3)(BFO@BTO)heterojunction with the ability to serve as a round-the-clock photocatalyst for polluted water ***@BTO heterojunction is composed of BiFeO_(3)nanoparticles decorated on the surface of BaTiO_(3)nanorods,which shortens the carrier migration *** importantly,the IEF can be activated and reconstructed under ultrasonic wave irradiation,leading to a lower potential barrier and enhanced separation efficiency for photogenerated *** degradation rate constant k value of BFO@BTO heterojunction reached 0.038 min^(−1),which was 1.9 and 7.0 times greater than that of piezocatalysis and photocatalysis alone,*** also exhibited excellent stability in three light‒dark cycles for high concentrations(25 mg·L^(−1))of rhodamine B(RhB)and tetracycline hydrochloride(TC).This study provides a promising strategy for designing highly active photoassisted piezocatalysts for environmental energy utilization and round-the-clock catalysis.

Higher-order polysulfides induced thermal runaway for 1.0 Ah lithium sulfur pouch cells

Comprehensive analyses on thermal runaway mechanisms are critically vital to achieve the safe lithium-sulfur(Li-S)*** reactions between dissolved higher-order polysulfides and Li metal were found to be the origins for the thermal runaway of 1.0 Ah cycled Li-S pouch cells.16-cycle pouch cell indicates high safety,heating from 30 to 300 ℃ without thermal runaway,while 16-cycle pouch cell with additional electrolyte undergoes severe thermal runaway at 147.9 ℃,demonstrating the key roles of the electrolyte on the thermal safety of *** the contrary,thermal runaway does not occur for 45-cycle pouch cell despite the addition of the *** is found that the higher-order polysulfides(Li_(2)S_(x) ≥ 6)are discovered in 16-cycle electrolyte while the sulfur species in 45-cycle electrolyte are Li_(2)S_(x) ≤ *** addition,strong exothermic reactions are discovered between cycled Li and dissolved higher-order polysulfide(Li_(2)S_(6) and Li_(2)S_(8))at 153.0 ℃,driving the thermal runaway of cycled Li-S pouch *** work uncovers the potential safety risks of Li-S batteries and negative roles of the polysulfide shuttle for Li-S batteries from the safety view.
