Spatio–Temporal Constrained Geomagnetic Indoor Localization With Arbitrary Walking Speed

This article focuses on the accuracy and practicality of geomagnetic-based indoor localization in large-scale real-world sites. Previous studies often use continuous geomagnetic sequences for better discriminability but ignore that longer sequences, while more accurate, increase response times. Shorter sequences enhance practicality but sacrifice accuracy. Additionally, varying walking speeds can cause sequence variations along the same path, leading to ambiguity. To address these challenges, we propose a spatial–temporal constrained indoor localization model (STC-loc) that enables both accurate and practical localization using geomagnetic sequences collected at arbitrary walking speeds. Specifically, we first design a speedoriented adaptive normalization module to tackle the walking speed heterogeneity problem. Then, to balance accuracy and practicality, we initially employ shorter sequences as input and a self-attention hierarchical structure to efficiently extract the temporal features for initial location estimation. Subsequently, we further apply an encoder–decoder-based refinement strategy, leveraging spatial contextual for continuous localization to ensure accuracy and robustness. Additionally, a slide-window-based twophase system architecture optimizes processing efficiency and scalability. Experiments on three large-scale real-world sites have demonstrated the superiority of the proposed STC-loc, reducing the localization error by more than 43% with shorter geomagnetic sequences. © 2014 IEEE.

A Robust Open-set Specific Emitter Identification for Complex Signals with Class-Irrelevant Features

Specific Emitter Identification (SEI) is an emitter recognition technology based on the Radio Frequency Fingerprint (RFF) of hardware. The emergence of unknown emitters is frequent in non-cooperative environments, and Open-set Specific Emitter Identification (OSSEI) based studies are becoming increasingly critical. Besides, Radio Frequency (RF) signals contain a substantial number of features that are irrelevant to emitter categories, as a result the distributions of signals are extremely sparse in the feature space. Existing OSSEI methods cannot be capable in extracting categorical representations for such signals, which may lead to wrong recognition. In this work, based on a set of Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) models, we propose a robust OSSEI framework designed to handle class-irrelevant features. Specifically, we first use the proposed class-independent VAEs to construct categorical representations for each emitter, leveraging signal distributions in the feature space. In addition, to enhance the distinction among inter-class representations and constrain intra-class distributions, we design a supervised contrastive learning (SupCL) based method that generates positive samples for data augmentation by means of sampling from the corresponding distributions. Furthermore, we calculate the category affiliation of signals by integrating reconstruction probabilities and statistical representation features, facilitating the identification of both known and unknown emitters. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of our method from both theoretical and experimental perspectives, achieving state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Background: To resist the time-variant underwater acoustic (UWA) channel, large amounts of channel estimation algorithms for the UWA orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) are presented. An updated review of the recent UWA OFDM channel estimators is suggested in this article. Objective: The goal of this patent is to review and conclude the development of different types of channel estimators. The possible perspectives about the future UWA channel estimator design are also discussed. Methodology: The principles and performances of the linear channel estimators, the compressed sensing (CS)-based channel estimators, and the neural network (NN)-based channel estimators are reviewed and discussed. Simulations are conducted to compare the typical implementations of the different methods. Conclusion: To take more channel state characteristics into account, the data-driven methods have been applied in the channel estimator design. Compared with the linear and CS-based methods, the NN-based channel estimator shows the higher performance, robustness and lower complexity, which is promising to be applied with the proper structure and training sets. © 2025 Bentham science Publishers.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) play an essential role in future wireless communication networks due to their high mobility, low cost, and on-demand deployment. In air-to-ground links, UAVs are widely used to enhance the performance of wireless communication systems due to the presence of high-probability line-of-sight (LoS) links. However, the high probability of LoS links also increases the risk of being eavesdropped, posing a significant challenge to the security of wireless communications. In this work, the secure problem in a multi-UAV-assisted communication system is investigated in a moving airborne eavesdropping scenario. To improve the secrecy performance of the considered communication system, aerial eavesdropping capability is suppressed by sending jamming signals from a friendly UAV. An optimization problem under flight conditions, fairness, and limited energy consumption constraints of multiple UAVs is formulated to maximize the fair sum secrecy throughput. Given the complexity and non-convex nature of the problem, we propose a two-step-based optimization approach. The first step employs the K-means algorithm to cluster users and associate them with multiple communication UAVs. Then, a heterogeneous multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient based algorithm is introduced to solve this optimization problem. The effectiveness of this proposed algorithm is not only theoretically but also rigorously verified by simulation results. © 2015 IEEE.

Online Streaming Features Causal Discovery Algorithm Based on Partial Rank Correlation

Aimedat the problem of dynamic causal discovery in the era of artificial intelligence, this article combines partial rank correlation coefficients and streaming features in the field of Bayesian network structure learning and proposes a new online streaming feature causal discovery algorithm based on partial rank correlation named the partial rank casual discovery streaming feature based algorithm. This algorithm is not only suitable for Bayesian causal structure learning in dynamic feature spaces generated by sequential streams of features but can also effectively process multivariate linear Gaussian and nonlinear non-Gaussian data. We present three main contributions. First, for arbitrarily distributed datasets, which can be generated by the additive noise model, we proved that the partial rank correlation coefficient can be used as the criterion for the conditional independence test and explored the distribution of corresponding statistics. Second, the PCSDSF algorithm redefined the relevance based on partial rank statistic prospects and then redefined conditional dependence or independence. This method can significantly reduce the number of conditional independence tests and achieves a good time performance. Finally, theoretical analysis and several experiments proved the reliability of the algorithm. A simulation showed that on average, the PCSDSF algorithm outperforms existing algorithms in terms of both the accuracy and time performance. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently, the application of autonomous driving in open-pit mining has garnered increasing attention for achieving safe and efficient mineral transportation. Compared to urban structured roads, unstructured roads in mining sites have uneven boundaries and lack clearly defined lane markings. This leads to a lack of sufficient constraint information for predicting the trajectories of other human-driven vehicles, resulting in higher uncertainty in trajectory prediction problems. A method is proposed to predict multiple possible trajectories and their probabilities of the target vehicle. The surrounding environment and historical trajectories of the target vehicle are encoded as a rasterized image, which is used as input to our deep convolutional network to predict the target vehicle’s multiple possible trajectories. The method underwent offline testing on a dataset specifically designed for autonomous driving scenarios in open-pit mining and was compared and evaluated against physics-based method. Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs) hold great promise as a viable alternative to lithium-ion batteries owing to their high energy density and environmental ***,AZIBs are consistently plagued by the formation of zinc dendrites and concurrent side reactions,which significantly diminish their overall service life,In this study,the glass fiber separator(GF) is modified using zeolite imidazole salt framework-8(ZIF-8),enabling the development of efficient ***-8,which is abundant in nitrogen content,efficiently regulates the desolvation of [Zn(H_(2)O)_(6)]^(2+) to inhibit hydrogen ***,it possesses abundant nanochannels that facilitate the uniform deposition of Zn~(2+) via a localized action,thereby hindering the formation of *** insulating properties of ZIF-8 help prevent Zn^(2+) and water from trapping electron reduction at the layer surface,which reduces corrosion of the zinc ***,ZIF-8-GF achieves the even transport of Zn^(2+) and regulates the homogeneous deposition along the Zn(002) crystal surface,thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical performance of the AZIBs,In particular,the Zn|Zn symmetric cell with the ZIF-8-GF separator delivers a stable cycle life at0.5 mA cm^(-2) of 2300 *** Zn|ZIF-8-GF|MnO_(2) cell exhibits reduced voltage polarization while maintaining a capacity retention rate(93.4%) after 1200 cycles at 1.2 A g^(-1) The unique design of the modified diaphragm provides a new approach to realizing high-performance AZIBs.
