Multi-View Graph Embedding Learning for Image Co-Segmentation and Co-Localization

Image co-segmentation and co-localization exploit inter-image information to identify and extract foreground objects with a batch mode. However, they remain challenging when confronted with large object variations or complex backgrounds. This paper proposes a multi-view graph embedding (MV-Gem) learning scheme which integrates diversity, robustness and discernibility of object features to alleviate this phenomenon. To encourage the diversity, the deep co-information containing both low-layer general representations and high-layer semantic information is generated to form a multi-view feature pool for comprehensive co-object description. To enhance the robustness, a multi-view adaptive weighted learning is formulated to fuse the deep co-information for feature complementation. To ensure the discernibility, the graph embedding and sparse constraint are embedded into the fusion formulation for feature selection. The former aims to inherit important structures from multiple views, and the latter further selects important features to restrain irrelevant backgrounds. With these techniques, MV-Gem gradually recovers all co-objects through optimization iterations. Extensive experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate that MV-Gem is capable of locating and delineating co-objects in an image group. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Traditional rolled(TR)aluminum(Al)/magnesium(Mg)/aluminum(Al)composite plates have many bottlenecks such as multiple passes,low interlaminar strength,and weak mechanical *** this paper,the hard-plate rolling(HPR)method was used to prepare Al/Mg/Al composite plates under a single pass reduction of 60%.The results show that the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of the composite plate obtained by hard-plate rolling is 262.3 MPa,and the percentage of total elongation at fracture(At)is 12.3%,which is 31.6%and 37.4%higher than that of the traditional rolling,*** is attributed to the unique corrugated interlocking structure of the interface of the composite plate caused by hard-plate *** shear texture produced by the Mg plate weakens the strong-basal *** the same time,the strong basal slip and the large amount of energy stored in the deformed grains provide favorable conditions for dynamic recrystallized(DRX)*** microstructure is deeply refined by DRX,and the strength and plasticity of the composite plate are improved *** provides scientific guidance for the development of high-performance lightweight composite plates and the research on hard-plate rolling technology and also has good industrial production and application potential.

Gauze:enabling communication-friendly block synchronization with cuckoo filter

Block synchronization is an essential component of blockchain ***,blockchain systems tend to send all the transactions from one node to another for ***,such a method may lead to an extremely high network bandwidth overhead and significant transmission *** is crucial to speed up such a block synchronization process and save bandwidth consumption.A feasible solution is to reduce the amount of data transmission in the block synchronization process between any pair of ***,existing methods based on the Bloom filter or its variants still suffer from multiple roundtrips of communications and significant synchronization *** this paper,we propose a novel protocol named Gauze for fast block *** utilizes the Cuckoo filter(CF)to discern the transactions in the receiver’s mempool and the block to verify,providing an efficient solution to the problem of set reconciliation in the P2P(Peer-to-Peer Network)*** up to two rounds of exchanging and querying the CFs,the sending node can acknowledge whether the transactions in a block are contained by the receiver’s mempool or *** on this message,the sender only needs to transfer the missed transactions to the receiver,which speeds up the block synchronization and saves precious bandwidth *** evaluation results show that Gauze outperforms existing methods in terms of the average processing latency(about lower than Graphene)and the total synchronization space cost(about lower than Compact Blocks)in different scenarios.

Emerging resistive RAM (ReRAM) devices can in-situ execute vector-matrix-multiplication (VMM) and is able to achieve energy-efficient in-memory scientific computing. However, the peripheral separated S&Hs and ADCs for row buffering and sensing in conventional designs are the system bottleneck. We propose an ADC-less all-in-one processing-in-ReRAM design that enables the precharge once, readout multiple-bits (PORM) functionality for overlapping the tRCD latencies of different-significance result bits sensed out on the same bitline. Specifically, to support PORM sensing, we propose a cascaded-feedback bitline sensing architecture for VMM and a buffering-and-sensing-collocated sense amplifier elemental design with the bitline and the storage node fully decoupled for enabling conflict-free column accesses. We further propose cross-level inter-leaving mechanism for successive column VMM accesses to reduce the overall latency through improving the hardware spatiotemporal utilization. Experimental results show that our proposed design achieves 297% overall performance improvement and 85.8% energy reduction, compared with an aggressive baseline. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). Iterative physical optics method based on efficient occlusion judgment with bounding volume hierarchy technology

This paper builds a binary tree for the target based on the bounding volume hierarchy technology,thereby achieving strict acceleration of the shadow judgment process and reducing the computational complexity from the original O(N^(3))to O(N^(2)logN).Numerical results show that the proposed method is more efficient than the traditional *** is verified in multiple examples that the proposed method can complete the convergence of the ***,the proposed method avoids the error of judging the lit-shadow relationship based on the normal vector,which is beneficial to current iteration and *** with the brute force method,the current method can improve the simulation efficiency by 2 orders of *** proposed method is more suitable for scattering problems in electrically large cavities and complex scenarios.

As an essential component of the earth system, precipitation plays a crucial role in the regional and global water cycle. This paper uses observations from the Fengyun-3D microwave humidity and temperature sounder and microwave radiation imager, as well as Integrated Multi-satellite Retrievals for GPM (IMERG), to establish a precipitation retrieval model based on the light gradient boosting model (LGBM). Using IMERG as the comparison data, the performance of precipitation identification with the LGBM-based precipitation retrieval model is as follows: accuracy is 0.9302, probability of detection is 0.7683, false alarm rate is 0.3529, and critical success index is 0.5414. The performance of precipitation estimation is also evaluated, with a correlation coefficient of 0.7536, a mean absolute error of 0.9119, and a mean squared error of 3.9506. In summary, this study achieves good performance in precipitation identification and estimation by the LGBM model. © 2024 IEEE.
