A Diffusion Model for Traffic Data Imputation

Imputation of missing data has long been an important topic and an essential application for intelligent transportation systems(ITS) in the real world. As a state-of-the-art generative model, the diffusion model has proven highly successful in image generation, speech generation, time series modelling *** now opens a new avenue for traffic data imputation. In this paper, we propose a conditional diffusion model, called the implicit-explicit diffusion model, for traffic data imputation. This model exploits both the implicit and explicit feature of the data simultaneously. More specifically, we design two types of feature extraction modules, one to capture the implicit dependencies hidden in the raw data at multiple time scales and the other to obtain the long-term temporal dependencies of the time series. This approach not only inherits the advantages of the diffusion model for estimating missing data, but also takes into account the multiscale correlation inherent in traffic data. To illustrate the performance of the model, extensive experiments are conducted on three real-world time series datasets using different missing *** experimental results demonstrate that the model improves imputation accuracy and generalization capability.

Experimental entanglement quantification for unknown quantum states in a semi-device-independent manner

Using the concept of non-degenerate Bell inequality, we show that quantum entanglement, the critical resource for various quantum information processing tasks, can be quantified for any unknown quantum state in a semi-device-independent manner, where the quantification is based on the experimentally obtained probability distributions and prior knowledge of the quantum dimension only. Specifically, as an application of our approach to multi-level systems, we experimentally quantify the entanglement of formation and the entanglement of distillation for qutrit-qutrit quantum systems. In addition, to demonstrate our approach for multi-partite systems, we further quantify the geometric measure of entanglement of three-qubit quantum systems. Our results supply a general way to reliably quantify entanglement in multi-level and multi-partite systems, thus paving the way to characterize many-body quantum systems by quantifying the involved entanglement.

Stress effect on lattice thermal conductivity of anode material NiNB_(2)O_(6)for lithium-ion batteries

The thermal transport properties of NiNB_(2)O_(6)as anode material for lithium-ion battery and the effect of strain were studied by machine learning interatomic potential combined with Boltzmann transport *** results show that the lattice thermal conductivity of NiNB_(2)O_(6)along the three crystal directions[100],[010],and[001]are 0.947 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),0.727 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),and 0.465 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),respectively,indicating the anisotropy of the lattice thermal conductivity of NiNB_(2)O_(6).This anisotropy of the lattice thermal conductivity stems from the significant difference of phonon group velocities in different crystal directions of NiNB_(2)O_(6).When the tensile strain is applied along the[001]crystal direction,the lattice thermal conductivity in all three directions ***,when the compressive strain is applied,the lattice thermal conductivity in the[100]and[010]crystal directions is increased,while the lattice thermal conductivity in the[001]crystal direction is abnormally reduced due to the significant inhibition of compressive strain on the group *** indicate that the anisotropy of thermal conductivity of NiNB_(2)O_(6)can be enhanced by the compressive strain,and reduced by the tensile strain.

The photocatalytic oxidative coupling of thiols is one of the most popular methods to synthesize the *** and its derivatives(TPAs)are promising for the above reaction,but suffer from the easy polymerization and difficult *** overcome these obstacles while controlling the photogenerated electrons transfer directly to target substrates,herein,we constructed one TPA-based metal-organic framework(MOF),(Me_(2)NH_(2))[Sr(TCBPA)]·DMA·3H_(2)O(1),by direct self-assembly of tris(4′-carboxybiphenyl)amine(H_(3)TCBPA)and photoredox inert strontium ion(Sr^(2+)).DFT calculations revealed that the valence band maximum(VBM)and the conduction band minimum(CBM)are mainly located on TCBPA^(3-),successfully inhibiting the undesirable electron migration to metal *** results indicated that 1 displays superior performance than homogeneous H_(3)TCBPA,which may result from the abundant π…π and C—H…π interactions between the well-arranged TCBPA^(3-)and the build-in electric field between the anionic framework and the Me_(2)NH^(2+).This work highlights that immobilizing TPAs into MOFs is one promising approach to designing heterogeneous photocatalysts for the synthesis of disulfides by oxidative coupling of thiols.

A path planning method based on deep reinforcement learning for crowd evacuation

Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is suitable for solving complex path-planning problems due to its excellent ability to make continuous decisions in a complex environment. However, the increase in the population size in the crowd evacuation path-planning problem causes a substantial computational burden for the algorithm, which leads to an unsatisfactory efficiency of the current DRL algorithm. This paper presents a path planning method based on DRL for crowd evacuation to solve the problem. First, we divide crowds into groups based on their relationship and distance from each other and select leaders from them. Next, we expand the Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MADDPG) to propose an Optimized Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (OMADDPG) algorithm to obtain the global evacuation path. The OMADDPG algorithm uses the Cross-Entropy Method (CEM) to optimize policy and improve the neural network’s training efficiency by applying the Data Pruning (DP) algorithm. In addition, the social force model is improved, incorporating the relationship between individuals and psychological factors into the model. Finally, this paper combines the improved social force model and the OMADDPG algorithm. The OMADDPG algorithm transmits the path information to the leaders. Pedestrians in the environment are driven by the improved social force model to follow the leaders to complete the evacuation simulation. The method can use a leader to guide pedestrians safely arrive the exit and reduce evacuation time in different environments. First-principles calculations study of valley polarization in antiferromagnetic bilayer systems

Superior to ferromagnetic (FM) valleytronics, antiferromagnetic (AFM) counterparts exhibit ultradense and ultrafast potential due to their intrinsic advantages of zero stray field, terahertz dynamics, and compensated moments of antiferromagnets. However, the physics of spontaneous valley polarization is mainly rooted in FM hexagonal lattices and is rarely used to explore the simultaneous spin and valley polarizations in AFM materials. Here, we propose a general stacking method to achieve valley polarization in AFM bilayer systems. The hexagonal ferrovalley material is used as the basic building unit, and then the space-inversion centrosymmetric bilayer system with interlayer AFM ordering is constructed by horizontal mirror and twofold rotational operations, which can exhibit spontaneous valley polarization. In this construction process, the rarely explored layer-locked hidden valley polarization, hidden Berry curvature, and layer Hall effect are involved, and an out-of-plane electric field can be used to detect hidden valley polarization and to realize layer-locked anomalous valley Hall effect. We use three examples to illustrate our proposal. First, the Janus GdBrI is used to illustrate concepts and effects involved in our design process. Second, the RuBr2 is used to demonstrate other phenomena, including valley polarization transition and near-ideal quantum spin Hall insulators. Finally, we use our design principles to understand the valley polarization of experimentally synthesized MnSe from a new perspective. Our works establish a robust general scheme to achieve valley polarization in AFM bilayer systems, thereby opening up new avenues for AFM valleytronics.

Tungsten oxides(WO_(3))are widely recognized as multifunctional systems owing to the existence of rich *** diverse phases exhibit distinct octahedra-tilting patterns,generating substantial tunnels that are ideally suited for ***,a quantitative comprehension regarding the impact of distinct phases on the kinetics of intercalated conducting ions remains ***,we employ first-principles calculations to explore the spatial and orientational correlations of ion transport inγ-and h-WO_(3),shedding light on the relationship between diffusion barriers and the size of the conducting *** findings reveal that different types and concentrations of alkali-metals induce distinct and continuous lattice distortions in WO_(3)***,γ-WO_(3)is more appropriate to accommodate Li+ions,exhibiting a diffusion barrier and coefficient of 0.25 eV and 9.31×10^(-8)cm^(2)s^(-1),***,h-WO_(3)features unidirectional and sizeable tunnels that facilitate the transport of K+ions with an even lower barrier and a high coefficient of 0.11 e V and 2.12×10^(-5)cm^(2)s^(-1),***,the introduction of alkali-metal into WO_(3)tunnels tends to introduce n-type conductivity by contributing s-electrons to the unoccupied W 5d states,resulting in enhanced conductivity and tunable electronic *** alkali metals in WO_(3)tunnels are prone to charge transfer,forming small polaronic states and modulating the light absorption in the visible and nearinfrared *** tunable electronic and optical properties,combined with the high diffusion coefficient,underscore the potential of WO_(3)in applications such as artificial synapses and chromogenic devices.

Speed limit effect during lane change in a two-lane lattice model under V2X environment

Speed limit measures are ubiquitous due to the complexity of the road environment,which can be supplied with the help of vehicle to everything(V2X)communication ***,the influence of speed limit on traffic system will be investigated to construct a two-lane lattice model accounting for the speed limit effect during the lane change process under V2X ***,the stability condition and the mKdV equation are closely associated with the speed limit effect through theory ***,the evolution of density and hysteresis loop is simulated to demonstrate the positive role of the speed limit effect on traffic stability in the cases of strong reaction intensity and high limited speed.
