Learning label-specific features for decomposition-based multi-class classification

Multi-class classification can be solved by decomposing it into a set of binary classification problems according to some encoding rules,e.g.,one-vs-one,one-vs-rest,error-correcting output *** works solve these binary classification problems in the original feature space,while it might be suboptimal as different binary classification problems correspond to different positive and negative *** this paper,we propose to learn label-specific features for each decomposed binary classification problem to consider the specific characteristics containing in its positive and negative ***,to generate the label-specific features,clustering analysis is respectively conducted on the positive and negative examples in each decomposed binary data set to discover their inherent information and then label-specific features for one example are obtained by measuring the similarity between it and all cluster *** clearly validate the effectiveness of learning label-specific features for decomposition-based multi-class classification.

Explosion-electricity coupling(EEC) is a technical method to induce electric energy into the plasma material produced by explosion to improve the output of *** foil initiator(EFI) which could produce plasma during electric explosion can serve as a good carrier for studying the *** investigate the enhancement ability and mechanism of EEC in EFI ignition performance,a kind of EFI chips which could realize the EEC effect was designed and fabricated to observe the characteristics of current and voltage,flyer and plasma temperature during Boron Potassium Nitrate(BPN) ignition of the *** was found that the EEC could enhance EFI ignition in terms of energy utilization,ignition contact surface,and high-temperature sustainability of plasma:firstly,the EEC prolonged the late time discharge(LTD) phase of the electric explosion,making the energy of capacitor effectively utilized;secondly,the EEC could create a larger area of ignition contact surface;last of all,the EEC effect enhanced its hightemperature sustainability by sustaining continuous energy input to *** also was found that the ignition voltage of BPN could be reduced by nearly 600 V under the condition of 0.4 μF *** research has successfully combined EEC with EFI,revealing the behavioral characteristics of EEC and demonstrating its effective enhancement of EFI *** introduces a new approach to improving EFI output,which is conducive to low-energy ignition of EFI,and expected to take the ignition technology of EFI to a new level.

Modern SSDs achieve low latency and high throughput by utilizing multiple levels of SSD parallelism. Fairness is also a critical design consideration in cloud environments and has inspired great interest in recent years to study it. However, we find that excessive striving for SSD parallelism can inadvertently harm the SSD fairness due to the striped data layout. We observe from our experimental analysis that some common access patterns in cloud loads (e.g., high-intensity I/O) are not addressed by SSD parallelism, which can affect both SSD parallelism and fairness. In this paper, we analyze two address mapping policies with orthogonal characteristics from SSD parallelism and fairness perspectives. Based on extensive experiments and observations, we schedule a hybrid address mapping policy to achieve fairness of SSDs in cloud environments by distinguishing different I/O access modes and cold/hot data, while ensuring SSD performance. Experimental results on the latest block-level I/O traces show that our approach significantly improves performance and fairness by up to 77.3% and 62.8%, respectively, over the previous schemes with negligible cost. Meanwhile, it can also reduce the write amplification by 23.5% to 33.5%. © 2024 IEEE.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm is extensively used in several military applications, e.g., battlefield reconnaissance and attack. In this article, a heterogeneous UAV swarm consisting of the reconnaissance UAVs (RUAVs), unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) and reconnaissance combat integrated UAVs (RCIUAVs) is considered. The cooperative reconnaissance and attack task allocation problem is formulated as a coalition formation game (CFG) and the partially cooperative order is proposed. Then, we prove that the formulated CFG is an exact potential game (EPG) which exists the stable coalition partition. The partially cooperative coalition formation algorithm is proposed. The simulation results show the validity of the proposed game model and algorithm. © Chinese Institute of Command and Control 2024.

This article presents a highly efficient method for substrate-integrated-waveguide（SIW） filters to achieve very wide stopbands. By employing the proposed trisection slots in addition to the bisection slots as the inter-coupling structures, all spurious modes below TE505 of a SIW filter working in the fundamental mode TE101（f0）can be eliminated without requiring additional structure or complex theoretical analysis, without affecting the design of the fundamental passbands, and without degrading the performance of the filters. For verification, two prototype filters are designed, fabricated, and measured with wide stopbands up to 4.15f0 and 4.83f0, respectively. The proposed technique could facilitate the development of high-performance wide-stopband SIW filters for microwave/wireless circuits and systems.

Memristors have received much attention for their ability to achieve multi-level storage and synaptic ***,the main factor that hinders the application of memristors to simulate neural synapses is the instability of the formation and breakage of conductive filaments inside traditional memristors,which makes it difficult to simulate the function of biological synapses in ***,the resistance change of ferroelectric memristors relies on the polarization inversion of the ferroelectric thin film,thus avoiding the above *** this study,a Pd/HfAlO/LSMO/STO/Si ferroelectric memristor is proposed,which can achieve resistive switching properties through the combined action of ferroelectricity and oxygen *** I−V curves show that the device has good stability and *** addition,the effect of pulse sequence modulation on the conductance was investigated,and the biological synaptic function and learning behavior were simulated *** results of the above studies provide a basis for the development of ferroelectric memristors with neurosynaptic-like behaviors.

In material science and engineering,obtaining a spectrum from a measurement is often time-consuming and its accurate prediction using data mining can also be *** this work,we propose a machine learning strategy based on a deep neural network model to accurately predict the dielectric temperature spectrum for a typical multi-component ferroelectric system,i.e.,(Ba_(1−x−y)Ca_(x)Sr_(y))(Ti_(1−u−v−w)Zr_(u)Sn_(v)Hf_(w))O_(3).The deep neural network model uses physical features as inputs and directly outputs the full spectrum,in addition to yielding the octahedral factor,Matyonov–Batsanov electronegativity,ratio of valence electron to nuclear charge,and core electron distance(Schubert)as four key *** to the physically meaningful features,our model exhibits better performance and generalization ability in the broader composition space of BaTiO3-based solid *** the prediction accuracy is superior to traditional machine learning models that predict dielectric permittivity values at each ***,the transition temperature and the degree of dispersion of the ferroelectric phase transition are easily extracted from the predicted spectra to provide richer physical *** prediction is also experimentally validated by typical samples of(Ba_(0.85)Ca_(0.15))(Ti_(0.98–x)Zr_(x)Hf_(0.02))O_(3).This work provides insights for accelerating spectra predictions and extracting ferroelectric phase transition information.

State and parameter identification of linearized water wave equation via adjoint method

In this paper, we focus on the state and parameter identification problem of a hydrodynamical system. This system is modeled as a linearized water wave equation(LWWE), a hyperbolic state-space model coupled with a Laplace equation. We assume that the wave elevation at two distinct points is the only measurement of water waves. We show that the state and water depth can be reconstructed from this point measurement records. The identification problem is recast as an optimization problem over an infinite-dimensional space. We propose the adjoint method-based identification algorithm to generate an estimated state and water depth. We then performed a numerical simulation to show the effectiveness of our designed algorithm by comparing it with existing studies.

A survey on hyperspectral image restoration: from the view of low-rank tensor approximation

The ability to capture fine spectral discriminative information enables hyperspectral images(HSIs) to observe, detect and identify objects with subtle spectral discrepancy. However, the captured HSIs may not represent the true distribution of ground objects and the received reflectance at imaging instruments may be degraded, owing to environmental disturbances, atmospheric effects, and sensors' hardware limitations. These degradations include but are not limited to complex noise, heavy stripes, deadlines,cloud/shadow occlusion, blurring and spatial-resolution degradation, etc. These degradations dramatically reduce the quality and usefulness of HSIs. Low-rank tensor approximation(LRTA) is such an emerging technique, having gained much attention in the HSI restoration community, with an ever-growing theoretical foundation and pivotal technological innovation. Compared to low-rank matrix approximation(LRMA),LRTA characterizes more complex intrinsic structures of high-order data and owns more efficient learning abilities, being established to address convex and non-convex inverse optimization problems induced by HSI restoration. This survey mainly attempts to present a sophisticated, cutting-edge, and comprehensive technical survey of LRTA toward HSI restoration, specifically focusing on the following six topics: denoising, fusion,destriping, inpainting, deblurring, and super-resolution. For each topic, state-of-the-art restoration methods are introduced, with quantitative and visual performance assessments. Open issues and challenges are also presented, including model formulation, algorithm design, prior exploration, and application concerning the interpretation requirements.

Suppressing nonradiative recombination and releasing residual strain areprerequisites to improving the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Here,long-chain polyacrylic acid(PAA)is used to reinforce SnO_(2)film and passivate SnO_(2)defects,forming a structure similar to“reinforcedconcrete”with high tensile strength and fewer ***,PAA is also introduced to the SnO_(2)/perovskite interface as a“buffer spring”torelease residual strain,which also acts as a“dual-side passivation interlayer”to passivate the oxygen vacancies of SnO_(2)and Pb dangling bonds in *** a result,the best inorganic CsPbBr_(3)PSC achieves a championpower conversion efficiency of 10.83%with an ultrahigh open-circuit voltageof 1.674 *** unencapsulated PSC shows excellent stability under 80%relative humidity and 80℃over 120 days.
