Piezoelectric potential activated interfacial electric field in BiFeO_(3)@BaTiO_(3) heterojunction for rapid and round-the-clock photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants

The highly efficient degradation and purification of organic pollutants in wastewater by photocatalysis is still *** this study,a piezoelectric potential-activated interfacial electric field(IEF)was constructed to endow BiFeO_(3)@BaTiO_(3)(BFO@BTO)heterojunction with the ability to serve as a round-the-clock photocatalyst for polluted water ***@BTO heterojunction is composed of BiFeO_(3)nanoparticles decorated on the surface of BaTiO_(3)nanorods,which shortens the carrier migration *** importantly,the IEF can be activated and reconstructed under ultrasonic wave irradiation,leading to a lower potential barrier and enhanced separation efficiency for photogenerated *** degradation rate constant k value of BFO@BTO heterojunction reached 0.038 min^(−1),which was 1.9 and 7.0 times greater than that of piezocatalysis and photocatalysis alone,*** also exhibited excellent stability in three light‒dark cycles for high concentrations(25 mg·L^(−1))of rhodamine B(RhB)and tetracycline hydrochloride(TC).This study provides a promising strategy for designing highly active photoassisted piezocatalysts for environmental energy utilization and round-the-clock catalysis.

Carbon nanofibers(CNFs)have received extensive and in-depth studied as anodes for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs),and yet their initial Coulombic efficiency and rate capability remain enormous challenge at practical ***,CNFs anchored with cobalt nanocluster(CNFs-Co)were prepared using chemical vapor deposition and thermal reduction *** as-prepared CNFs-Co shows a high initial Coulombic efficiency of 91%and a high specific discharge capacity of 246 mAh/g at 0.1 A/g after 200 cycles as anode for ***,the CNFs-Co anode still delivers a high cycling stability with 108 mAh/g after 1000 cycles at 10 A/*** excellent electrochemical properties could be attributed to the involved spin state Co,which endows CNFs with large interplanar spacing(0.39 nm)and abundant vacancy ***,the spin state Co downshifts the p-band center of carbon and strengthens the Na+adsorption energy from-2.33 eV to-2.64 eV based on density functional theory *** novel strategy of modulating the carbon electronic structure by the spin state of magnetic metals provides a reference for the development of high-performance carbon-based anode materials.

Heme,an iron-containing porphyrin derivative,holds great promise in fields like medicine,food production and ***,we developed an engineered Corynebacterium glutamicum strain for efficient heme production by combining modular engineering and RBS *** whole heme biosynthetic pathway was methodically divided into 5-ALA synthetic module,uroporphyrinogen III(UPG III)synthetic module and heme synthetic module for further construction and *** heme synthetic modules were compared and the siroheme-dependent(SHD)pathway was identified to be optimal in *** for the first *** further improve heme production,the expression of genes in UPG III synthetic module and heme synthetic module was coordinated optimized through RBS engineering,***,heme oxygenase was knocked out to reduce heme *** engineered strain HS12 showed a maximum iron-containing porphyrin derivatives titer of 1592 mg/L with the extracellular secretion rate of 45.5%in fed-batch *** study constructed a *** chassis strain for efficient heme accumulation,which was beneficial for the advancement of efficient heme and other porphyrins production.

Traumatic wounds are the prevalent scenarios encountered in battleground and emergency rooms. The rapid and effective hemostasis is imperative for life saving in these scenarios, for which the development of high-efficiency and biocompatible hemostatic materials is essential. Due to its excellent hemostatic property and biocompatibility,collagen has emerged as an ideal component of hemostatic materials. Furthermore, the properties of collagen-based hemostatic materials could be improved by the integration of other biomacromolecules, such as alginate, cellulose derivatives, and chitosan derivatives. Therefore, more and more novel hemostatic materials with exceptional hemostatic properties have been developed. This review aims to overview recent progress of collagen-based hemostatic materials. Firstly, the hemostatic mechanism of collagen was introduced. Secondly, various forms of collagen-based hemostatic materials, such as hydrogels, sponges, and powders, were highlighted. Thirdly, composite hemostatic materials of collagen and other biomacromolecules were overviewed. Finally, the outlook of collagen-based hemostatic materials was discussed.

Long-range electron synergy over Pt_(1)-Co_(1)/CN bimetallic single-atom catalyst in enhancing charge separation for photocatalytic hydrogen production

The development of novel single-atom catalysts with optimal electron configuration and economical noble-metal cocatalyst for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production is of great importance,but still ***,we fabricate Pt and Co single-atom sites successively on polymeric carbon nitride(CN).In this Pt_(1)-Co_(1)/CN bimetallic single-atom catalyst,the noble-metal active sites are maximized,and the single-atomic Co_(1)N_4sites are tuned to Co_(1)N_3sites by photogenerated electrons arising from the introduced single-atomic Pt_(1)N_*** studies and density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the 3d orbitals of Co_(1)N_3single sites are filled with unpaired d-electrons,which lead to the improved visible-light response,carrier separation and charge migration for CN ***,the protons adsorption and activation are *** this advantage of long-range electron synergy in bimetallic single atomic sites,the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity over Pt_(1)-Co_(1)/CN achieves 915.8 mmol g^(-1)Pt h^(-1),which is 19.8 times higher than Co_(1)/CN and 3.5 times higher to Pt_(1)/*** this electron-synergistic effect is not so efficient for Pt *** results demonstrate the synergistic effect at electron-level and provide electron-level guidance for the design of efficient photocatalysts.

Nipah virus(NiV)is a zoonotic paramyxovirus in the genus Henipavirus that is prevalent in Southeast *** leads to severe respiratory disease and encephalitis in humans and animals,with a mortality rate of up to 75%.Despite the grave threat to public health and global biosecurity,no medical countermeasures are available for ***,based on self-assembled ferritin nanoparticles(FeNPs),we successfully constructed two candidate FeNP vaccines by loading mammalian cells expressing NiV sG(residues 71–602,FeNP-sG)and Ghead(residues 182–602,FeNP-Ghead)onto ***-expressed FeNPs(FeNP-sG and FeNP-Ghead,respectively)through Spycatcher/Spytag *** with sG and Ghead alone,FeNP-sG and FeNP-Ghead elicited significant NiV specific neutralizing antibody levels and T-cell responses in mice,whereas the immune response in the FeNP-sG immunized group was greater than that in the FeNP-Ghead *** results further demonstrate that sG possesses greater antigenicity than Ghead and that FeNPs can dramatically enhance ***,FeNP-sG provided 100%protection against NiV challenge in a hamster model when it was administered twice at a dose of 5μg/per *** study provides not only a promising candidate vaccine against NiV,but also a theoretical foundation for the design of a NiV immunogen for the development of novel strategies against NiV infection.
