The phytohormone jasmonate(JA)coordinates stress and growth responses to increase plant survival in unfavorable *** JA can enhance plant UV-B stress tolerance,the mechanisms underlying the interaction of UV-B and JA in this response remain *** this study,we demonstrate that the UV RESISTANCE LOCUS 8-TEOSINTE BRANCHED1,Cycloidea and PCF 4-LIPOXYGENASE2(UVR8-TCP4-LOX2)module regulates UV-B tolerance dependent on JA signaling pathway in Arabidopsis *** show that the nucleus-localized UVR8 physically interacts with TCP4 to increase the DNA-binding activity of TCP4 and upregulate the JA biosynthesis gene ***,UVR8 activates the expression of LOX2 in a TCP4-dependent *** genetic analysis also provides evidence that TCP4 acts downstream of UVR8 and upstream of LOX2 to mediate plant responses to UV-B *** results illustrate that the UV-B-dependent interaction of UVR8 and TCP4 serves as an important UVR8-TCP4-LOX2 module,which integrates UV-B radiation and JA signaling and represents a new UVR8 signaling mechanism in plants.

Laser shock processing(LSP),as a novel surface modification technology,exhibits tremendous potential to improve the oxidation resistance of *** this paper,(γ’+β)two-phase Ni-34Al-0.1Dy coatings were prepared by electron beam physical vapor deposition(EB-PVD)and then treated by LSP with different pulse energy(4 and 5 J).Their oxidation behavior(including isothermal oxidation and cyclic oxidation)at 1150°C was *** the isothermal oxidation case,the LSP-treated samples exhibited good ox-idation resistance due to high dislocation density and refined grains caused by the *** the cyclic oxidation,however,the LSP-treated samples were subjected to undesirable thermally grown oxide(TGO)*** the early oxidation stage(within 30 min),the residual compressive stress introduced by the LSP rapidly released,resulting in a severe plastic deformation at the coating/TGO *** a result,the mismatch between coating and TGO gave rise to the TGO *** the increase in the oxida-tion time,work hardening,which continuously limited the synchronous deformation of the TGO/coating interface,became the dominant mechanism controlling the TGO spallation of 5 J-treated *** continuous TGO spallation affected the Al supply and thus deteriorated the cyclic oxidation behavior.

Wood quality is predominantly determined by the amount and the composition of secondary cell walls(SCWs).Consequently,unraveling the molecular regulatory mechanisms governing SCW formation is of paramount importance for genetic engineering aimed at enhancing wood *** SCW formation is known to be governed by a hierarchical gene regulatory network(HGRN),our understanding of how a HGRN operates and regulates the formation of heterogeneous SCWs for plant development and adaption to ever-changing environment remains *** this review,we examined the HGRNs governing SCW formation and highlighted the significant key differences between herbaceous Arabidopsis and woody plant *** clarified many confusions in existing literatures regarding the HGRNs and their orthologous gene names and ***,we revealed many network motifs including feed-forward loops,feed-back loops,and negative and positive autoregulation in the *** also conducted a thorough review of post-transcriptional and post-translational aspects,protein-protein interactions,and epigenetic modifications of the ***,we summarized how the HGRNs respond to environmental factors and cues,influencing SCW biosynthesis through regulatory cascades,including many regulatory chains,wiring regulations,and network ***,we highlighted the future research directions for gaining a further understanding of molecular regulatory mechanisms underlying SCW formation.

Photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen(H_(2))production is a green sustainable technology,in which highly-efficient steady photocatalysts are fundamentally *** this work,unique CdS/Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S-M0_(1-x)W_(x)S_(2) photocatalyst constructed by CdS hollow nano-spheres with successively surface-modified Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S shell and defect-rich MO_(1-x)W_(x)S_(2) ultrathin nanosheets was reported for the first ***,the Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S shell could greatly enhance the photo-stability and reduce the carrier recombination of ***,enriching active sites and accelerating charge transfer could be achieved via anchoring defect-rich Mo_(1-x)W_(x)S_(2) onto CdS/Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S hollow ***,the optimized CdS/Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S-Mo_(1-x)W_(x)Sa(6 h Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S-coating,7 wt.%Mo_(1-x)W_(x)S_(2),x=0.5)hybrid delivered an exceptional H_(2) generation rate of 215.99 mmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1),which is approximately 502,134,and 23 times that of pure CdS,CdS/Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S,and 3 wt.%Pt-loaded CdS/Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S,***,a high H_(2) evolution reaction(HER)apparent quantum yield(AQY)of 64.81%was obtained under 420-nm *** addition,the CdS/Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S-Mo_(1-x)W_(x)S_(2) was also durable for H2 production under long-term *** work provides valuable inspirations to rational design and synthesis of efficient and stable hybrid photocatalysts for solar energy conversion.

Dear Editor,The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)pandemic has posed a continuous threat to global public health.A number of vaccines,such as inactivated vaccines,mRNA vaccines,recombinant adenovirus vector vaccines and protein subunit vaccines,have been licensed and have achieved tremendous success in preventing infections,particularly severe hospitalization and death(Feikin et al.,2022;Ssentongo et al.,2022).However,with the emergence of new variants,breakthrough infections have occurred among vaccines,highlighting the need to develop broad-spectrum vaccines(Ukwishaka et al.,2023).

Surgical resection is the preferred option for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),but surgical navigation technology using indocyanine green still has some drawbacks such as non-specific imaging,thus it is very important to develop newfluorescence imaging ***-cis hexaphenyl-1,3-butadiene derivative(ZZ-HPB-NC)with aggregation-induced emission(AIE)feature has been reported to be quickly turned-onfluorescent response in the intraoperative frozen-section slides of ***,the probe did not respond to normal liver tissue around *** order to enhance the diagnostic rate and elucidate the response mechanism,all-trans config-uration EE-HPB-NC,was furtherly *** two minutes,non-cancer tissues could befluorescently labeled by EE-HPB-NC by spraying,showing the same effect with ZZ-HPB-NC to *** results indicated that the configuration-induced cross-identificationfluorescence imaging strategy was achieved through the combination of ZZ-and *** the mechanism of HPB-NC localization in HCC lesions was explored,and the binding of HPB-NC with specific proteins in cells resulted in the AIE effect to label HCC *** this basis,the accuracy of specificfluorescence imaging for HCC was further verified on the mouse hepatic neoplasm models,indicating that it has clinical application potential for surgicalfluorescence real-time navigation.
