Evaluating quality of motion for unsupervised video object segmentation

Current mainstream unsupervised video object segmentation(UVOS) approaches typically incorporate optical flow as motion information to locate the primary objects in coherent video frames. However, they fuse appearance and motion information without evaluating the quality of the optical flow. When poor-quality optical flow is used for the interaction with the appearance information, it introduces significant noise and leads to a decline in overall performance. To alleviate this issue, we first employ a quality evaluation module(QEM) to evaluate the optical flow. Then, we select high-quality optical flow as motion cues to fuse with the appearance information, which can prevent poor-quality optical flow from diverting the network's attention. Moreover, we design an appearance-guided fusion module(AGFM) to better integrate appearance and motion information. Extensive experiments on several widely utilized datasets, including DAVIS-16, FBMS-59, and You Tube-Objects, demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing methods.

The microstructural responses of In_(0.32)Ga_(0.68)N and In_(0.9)Ga_(0.1)N films to 2.25 GeV Xe ion irradiation have been investigated using x-ray diffraction,Raman scattering,ion channeling and transmission electron *** was found that the In-rich In_(0.9)Ga_(0.1)N is more susceptible to irradiation than the Ga-rich In_(0.32)Ga_(0.68)*** ion irradiation with a fluence of 7×10^(11)ions·cm^(-2)leads to little damage in In_(0.32)Ga_(0.68)N but an obvious lattice expansion in In_(0.9)Ga_(0.1)*** level of lattice disorder in In_(0.9)Ga_(0.1)N increases after irradiation,due to the huge electronic energy deposition of the incident Xe ***,no Xe ion tracks were observed to be formed,which is attributed to the very high velocity of 2.25 Ge V Xe *** defects and/or small defect clusters are probably the dominant defect type in Xe-irradiated In_(0.9)Ga_(0.1)N.

With the sustainable and efficient development of aqueous zinc ion batteries(AZIBs),the research on addressing the issues of the adaptability and durability of zinc anodes has been hot-topic and is still of great *** this work,inspired by the sand treatment and afforestation of the Gobi Beach in Northwest China to ameliorate the problem of wind and sand encroachment,we propose a material with a morphology similar to that of a“shelter forest”,CuSiO_(3)nanoneedles arrays grown on both sides of reduced graphene oxide(rGO@CuSi),as a coating layer on the zinc metal surface to guide Zn gradient *** presence of rGO improves the electrical conductivity of CuSiO_(3),and the finite element simulation of the electric field and Zn^(2+)concentration proves that the electric field distribution can be effectively homogenized and the local current density can be reduced for the rGO@CuSi-Zn electrode with the surface presenting the shape of a protective *** is due to the abundant pores between the nano-needle array structures on the surface of the electrode,which provide high electron and ion transport paths,and are conducive to achieving uniform Zn deposition,like the principle of wind-sand stabilization by protective *** electrochemical experiments and density functional theory calculations show that the negatively charged surface of r GO@CuSi with good Zn affinity is more capable of guiding Zn^(2+)*** to its inherent material and structural characteristics,the r GO@CuSi-Zn anode has a high specific capacity and good cycling *** study provides insight for interface engineering like protective forest to accelerate the commercialization of high-performance Zn-based batteries.

Alloys of uranium and molybdenum are considered as the future of nuclear fuel and defense ***,surface corrosion is a fundamental problem in practical applications and *** this study,the static and dynamic evolution of carbon monoxide(CO)adsorption and dissociation onγ-U(100)surface with different Mo doping levels was investigated based on density functional theory and ab initio molecular *** the static calculation phase,parameters,such as adsorption energy,configuration,and Bader charge,were evaluated at all adsorption ***,the time-dependent behavior of CO molecule adsorption were investigated at the most favorable *** minimum energy paths for CO molecu-lar dissociation and atom migration were investigated using the transition state search *** results demonstrated that the CO on the uranium surface mainly manifests as chemical adsorption before dissociation of the CO *** CO molecule exhibited a tendency to rotate and tilt upright ***,it is difficult for CO adsorption on the surface in one of the configurations with CO molecule in vertical direction but oxygen(O)is closer to the *** charge illustrates that the charge transfers from slab atoms to the 2π*antibonding orbital of CO molecule and particularly occurs in carbon(C)*** time is less than 100 fs for the adsorptions that forms embryos with tilt upright in dynamics *** density of states elucidates that the overlapping hybridization of C and O 2p orbitals is mainly formed via the d orbitals of uranium and molybdenum(Mo)atoms in the dissociation and re-adsorption of CO *** conclusion,Mo doping of the surface can decelerate the adsorption and dissociation of CO molecules.A Mo-doped surface,created through ion injection,enhanced the resistance to uranium-induced surface corrosion.

ViGT: proposal-free video grounding with a learnable token in the transformer

The video grounding(VG) task aims to locate the queried action or event in an untrimmed video based on rich linguistic descriptions. Existing proposal-free methods are trapped in the complex interaction between video and query, overemphasizing cross-modal feature fusion and feature correlation for VG. In this paper, we propose a novel boundary regression paradigm that performs regression token learning in a transformer. Particularly, we present a simple but effective proposal-free framework, namely video grounding transformer(ViGT), which predicts the temporal boundary using a learnable regression token rather than multi-modal or cross-modal features. In ViGT, the benefits of a learnable token are manifested as follows.(1) The token is unrelated to the video or the query and avoids data bias toward the original video and query.(2) The token simultaneously performs global context aggregation from video and query ***, we employed a sharing feature encoder to project both video and query into a joint feature space before performing cross-modal co-attention(i.e., video-to-query attention and query-to-video attention) to highlight discriminative features in each modality. Furthermore, we concatenated a learnable regression token [REG] with the video and query features as the input of a vision-language transformer. Finally, we utilized the token [REG] to predict the target moment and visual features to constrain the foreground and background probabilities at each timestamp. The proposed ViGT performed well on three public datasets:ANet-Captions, TACoS, and YouCookⅡ. Extensive ablation studies and qualitative analysis further validated the interpretability of ViGT.

CRP: A Cluster-Based Routing Protocol for Lightweight Nodes in Payment Channel Networks

Although blockchain empowers the IoT trading market and presents new development opportunities for IoT, scalability issues of blockchain limit its application in this area. Payment Channel Networks (PCNs) have emerged as a promising solution to address the scalability issues. With the help of routing protocols, two users can utilize payment channels to conduct off-chain transactions. However, most Payment Channel Network (PCN) routing protocols overlook the scalability of PCNs, resulting in substantial storage, communication, and computational overhead for lightweight nodes, such as IoT devices. Additionally, frequent utilization of a payment channel can quickly exhaust the channel’s balance, leading to congestion and causing subsequent payments to fail. Channel congestion restricts the throughput of PCNs, yet most PCN routing protocols lack designs for channel congestion control. In this paper, we propose a Cluster-based scalable and high-throughput Routing Protocol (CRP), to enhance the scalability and throughput of PCNs. CRP organizes PCNs into clusters to reduce the average routing table size, thereby alleviating users’ storage, communication, and computational overhead. Furthermore, CRP aims to minimize maximum channel congestion when selecting payment routes, thereby improving throughput. Extensive simulations demonstrate that CRP achieves high scalability and throughput compared to state-of-the-art PCN routing protocols. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Effects of anode material on the evolution of anode plasma and characteristics of intense electron beam diode

In this paper,three kinds of materials including graphite,titanium(Ti)and molybdenum(Mo)are used as anodes to figure out the influence factors of anode material on the characteristics of the intense electron beam *** results show that the characteristics of diode are mainly determined by the cathode plasma motion under a 15 mm diode gap,in which the typical electron beam parameters are 280 kV,3.5 *** the diode gap is reduced to 5 mm,the voltage of the electron beam reduces to about 200 kV,and its current increases to more than 8.2 *** is calculated that the surface temperatures of Ti and Mo anodes are higher than their melting *** diode plasma luminescence images show that Ti and Mo anodes produce plasmas soon after the bombardment of electron *** and Mo lines are respectively found in the plasma composition of Ti and Mo anode *** melting traces are also observed on Ti and Mo anodes by comparing the micromorphologies before and after bombardment of the electron *** results suggest that the time of anode plasma generation is closely related to the anode *** with graphite,metal Ti and Mo anodes are more likely to produce large amounts of plasma due to their more significant temperature rise *** to the moment that anode plasma begins to generate,the average expansion velocities of cathode and anode plasma are estimated by fitting the improved space-charge limited flow *** reveals that generation and motion of the anode plasma significantly affect the characteristics of intense electron beam diode.
