In this work, an evaluation towards influence of high-dose gamma irradiation on surface acoustic wave (SAW) resonators, is reported. The single-port SAW resonators are fabricated using Lithium niobate (LiNbO3) and Catangasite (CTGS, Ca3TaGa3Si2O14) substrates, along respective cut directions of (0º, 38º, 0º) and (0º, 90º, 0º). Piezoelectric coefficient of substrates, and several main resonance parameters covering resonance frequency, amplitude of resonance peak in reflection coefficient, quality factor together with electromechanical coupling factor of manufactured SAW resonators are investigated, as suitable representatives of piezoelectric and resonance characteristics of SAW resonators. After exposure to gamma ray with a maximum dose of 250 kGy, substrates show insignificant variation not exceeding 6% in their piezoelectric coefficient. Meanwhile, resonance parameters of SAW resonators also alter slightly. Such excellent stability of these characteristics demonstrates credible irradiation hardness owned by both SAW resonators. Results in this study can provide supportive references for usage of LiNbO3 and CTGS-based SAW devices in harsh environments. © 2025 SPIE.

Path-Dependent Progressive Failure Analysis for 3D-Printed Continuous Carbon Fibre Reinforced Composites

In order to predict the damage behaviours of 3D-printed continuous carbon fibre(CCF)reinforced composites,when additional short carbon fibre(SCF)composite components are employed for continuous printing or special functionality,a novel path-dependent progressive failure(PDPF)numerical approach is ***,a progressive failure model using Hashin failure criteria with continuum damage mechanics to account for the damage initiation and evaluation of 3D-printed CCF reinforced polyamide(PA)composites is developed,based on actual fibre placement trajectories with physical measurements of 3D-printed CCF/PA ***,an elastic-plastic model is employed to predict the plastic damage behaviours of SCF/PA ***,the accuracy of the PDPF model was validated so as to study 3D-printed CCF/PA composites with either negative Poisson's ratio or high *** results demonstrate that the proposed PDPF model can achieve higher prediction accuracies in mechanical properties of these 3D-printed CCF/PA *** analyses show that the stress distribution is generally aggregated in the CCF areas along the fibre placement paths,and the shear damage and matrix tensile/compressive damage are the key damage *** study provides a new approach with valuable information for characterising complex 3D-printed continuous fibre-matrix composites with variable mechanical properties and multiple constituents.

Experimental Study on Geometry Characteristics of Turbulent Premixed Flames for Natural Gas/Air Mixtures

In this study,focusing on the geometry characteristics of spherical expanding flame,the turbulent premixed flames of natural gas/air mixtures were investigated in a fan-stirred turbulent *** effects of initial temperature(T=300-400 K),initial pressure(P=0.1-0.3 MPa),turbulence intensity(u'=1.0-2.7 m/s),oxygen volumetric percentage(φ(O_(2))=15%-21%)and carbon dioxide volumetric percentage(φ(CO_(2))=0-20%)were delved *** flame profile under the Cartesian coordinate system was derived from the schlieren images taken by the high-speed ***,from both macroscopic and microscopic perspectives,the influence of experimental conditions on the flame geometry characteristics was explored through flame front extraction,wavelet decomposition and network *** results demonstrate that for significant flame wrinkling,changes in species concentrations and turbulence intensity have more pronounced effects on the flame wrinkling *** wrinkling of the flame front maintains a certain degree of similarity,as evidenced by the locally concentrated distribution of the angles of the maximum fluctuation *** disturbance energy under large-scale(D6-D8)disturbances exhibits relatively high values with a similar trend,exerting a significant impact on the geometry characteristics of the flame *** peaks of correlation degree are scattered either with the decomposition scale or the development of flame radius,indicating no linear correlation between different detail ***,the probability distribution of node degrees in key wrinkled regions exhibits different trends with that of large-scale wrinkling and disturbance energy,especially with changes in initial *** occurs because the number of key wrinkles varies based on the perturbation's strength or the region's ***,an increase in the fluctuation frequency of the flame's local radius may not necessarily lead to an increase in the number of key folded regions.

Pump equipment is the main source of vibration and noise during ship operation, and there are distinct characteristic line spectra at various transmission paths, which is not conducive to vibration reduction and noise control of ship system. Therefore, this paper focuses on a type of pump with significant vibration and prominent 50Hz characteristic line spectrum. It conducts research on integrated vibration isolation and vibration absorption based on floating raft isolation and dynamic vibration absorbers. The feasibility of above scheme was verified by the research on floating raft structure design, research on dynamic vibration absorber parameters, and analysis of vibration reduction and absorption effects. This paper provides a great measure to reduce the delivery of vibration and control line spectrum feature of one frequency of pump equipment. © 2024 Proceedings of the International Congress on Sound and Vibration. In the field repair application of laser metal deposition(LMD),the kinds of powder materials that can be used are limited,while the equipment components are made of various *** many components have to be repaired with heterogeneous ***,it is difficult to match the mechanical properties between the repaired layer and the substrate due to the diff erent *** on the high flexibility of raw materials and processes in LMD,an in-situ alloying method is proposed herein for tailoring the mechanical properties of LMDed *** diff erent mixing ratios of Fe314 and 316 L stainless steel powders as the control parameter,the microstructure and mechanical properties of B-bearing austenitic stainless steel fabricated by LMD in-situ alloying with diff erent proportions of Fe314 and 316 L particles were *** the increase in the concentration of 316 L steel,the volume fraction of the eutectic phase in deposited B-bearing austenitic stainless steel reduced,the size of the austenite dendrite increased,the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength decreased monotonically,while the elongation increased ***,the fracture mode changed from quasi-cleavage fracture to ductile *** adding 316 L powder,the yield strength,tensile strength,and elongation of deposited B-bearing austenitic stainless steel could be adjusted within the range of 712 MPa–257 MPa,1325 MPa–509 MPa,and 8.7%–59.3%,***,this work provides a new method and idea for solving the performance matching problem of equipment components in the field repair.

The DCS configuration design process involves a large number of variables and multiple lists, and designers need to spend more time on the preparation, checking and maintenance of the lists. Manual compilation of files is a lot of work, and prone to human error. In this process, the use of automatic software to assist in the design can effectively improve efficiency. Based on the practical requirements of safety-class DCS design project of a nuclear power plant unit 1 and 2, this paper designs and implements a set of automatic generating and checking system of accounting list, which implements the automatic generation and typesetting of list files, and obtains good application effect. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Lead-Cooled fast reactor, which uses liquid lead or lead-bismuth alloy as coolants, is one of the six main reactors of the fourth generation reactor system. Most recently, the Lead-Cooled fast reactor received a lot of attention due to its safety, economy, and sustainability advantages. However, the liquid metal embrittlement (LME) could be a potential threat to the reliability of structure materials used in the Lead-Cooled fast reactor. Several experimental results show that the segregation of alloy element in grain boundary has a close association with liquid metal embrittlement. In this paper, by applying atomic simulation techniques, including molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo method, the segregation of lead element on poly-crystal ferritic and the resulting mechanical properties variations are simulated with the newest interatomic potential. The simulation results show that the lead element segregates on grain boundary. Moreover, such segregation of lead on grain boundary induced hardening and embrittlement of poly-crystal systems in the following uniaxial tensile testes. The atomic-scale mechanisms for such mechanical properties variation induced by lead element segregation are discussed carefully. In conclusion, these results verify that the segregation of lead element could be one of the critical mechanisms for LME, which well agree with previous experimental evidences. The present study may allow us to understand the mechanism of LME better. It can serve as a good reference for selecting more suitable materials for the Lead-Cooled fast reactor. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Although the prediction of system behavior plays a crucial role in accident management, there is very limited research on this subject in the nuclear industry. Accident process prediction methods are usually implemented as data-based methods due to the fast inference speed. However, the existing methods used for reactor accidents often ignore the predictive capability of the forecasting models over long-term patterns, or do not analyze the confidence of the prediction. In this paper, we have proposed a method for accident process prediction based on a Temporal Fusion Transformer (TFT) model. On the one hand, the method leverages multiple types of covariates as auxiliary, such as static labels of accidents and other monitoring data, to improve the prediction accuracy;on the other hand, it carries out uncertainty assessment of the predicted sequences. The method proposed in this paper is applied to MBLOCA post-accident prediction of HPR1000. Extensive results show that the method significantly outperforms the NiHiTS, Nbeats, Transformer, LSTM, GRU and RNN etc. models in terms of prediction accuracy on the test dataset. Furthermore, the uncertainty analysis of the prediction results allows the method to be applied to production scenarios of nuclear reactors, which is of high safety demands. © 2023 by JSME.

The instrument and control (I&C) emulation system that developed based on virtual technology is an effective mapping of physical I&C system. It can realistically reflect the properties of physical system, and can be applied to verify profit intelligent control strategies. In the stage of solution design, it is definitely necessary to analyze data storage and interaction procedures of each process or thread that represents various functions in system. Moreover, some simulation functions, for instance, saving and loading initial conditions, involve the management for various data types. Therefore, overall management for internal and external data is indispensable. Refer to above requirements, this paper proposes a set of data management methods that include interface design and process optimization for data interaction in I&C system. Nuclear power plant status monitoring and equipment fault diagnosis are important guarantees for the safe operation of nuclear power plants. With the development of artificial intelligence technology, fault diagnosis of nuclear reactor equipment has entered the stage of intelligent diagnosis and prediction. The control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) is the actuator of the reactor control and nuclear safety protection system. In the normal state, CRDM realizes the stepping movement of the control rod through the alternating action of the three sets of coil currents. When an abnormality in the coil current is detected, it means that the CRDM movement fails, and in more serious cases, it may cause the control rod to accidentally drop. Therefore, in order to prevent the occurrence of control rod stuck, sliding rod and driving failure in the reactor and to ensure the safe and economic operation of the reactor, a necessary measure is to effectively monitor the operation status of the CRDM. In this paper, the overall architecture of an intelligent perception and adaptive control system for CRDM is studied. By analyzing the multi-condition and multi-mode coupling relationship in the time dimension and spatial correlation between the coil current and vibration signals, a condition discrimination and fault diagnosis model for CRDM based on hybrid network of CNN+BiGRU is established. Furthermore, a digital adaptive control model of control rod drive system is built based on the real-time simulation system dSPACE. Through functional verification, the system can perform real-time perception and identification of normal operation conditions, fault diagnosis and adaptive control based on the coil current and vibration signals. The recognition accuracy rate for various operation conditions reaches more than 99.35%, and the control accuracy of the sequential current is improved around ±4% of the rated value under various external environment changes, providing a supportive reference for
