Sparse-view neutron CT 3D image reconstruction algorithm based on split Bregman method

The development of cost-effective,highly effi-cient and stable catalysts is critical to promote the indus-trial alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).However,single-component catalysts often cannot handle the multiple kinetic steps during hydrogen *** address this challenge,a heterogeneous catalyst comprising metal Co,CoO and carbon-doped Mo2N(Co-CoO-C/Mo2N/CC)was synthesized by heat treatment of carbon cloth-supported CoMoO4 microrods in a mixed reduction *** resulting catalyst has rich interfaces,exhibiting excellent initial HER activity with an overpotential of 27 mV at 10 mA·cm-2 and a Tafel slope of 37 mV·*** studies show that the activity and stability of the catalyst can be tailored by the dynamic surface reconfiguration and doping *** carbon doping and high crystallinity in Mo2N help to reduce the dissolution of Mo and the surface metal Co is preferentially converted into stable Co(OH)2,thus stabilizing the struc-ture of the catalyst and coordinating various reaction *** an electrolyzer comprising a heterogeneous Co-CoO-C/Mo2N cathode and NiFe layered double hydroxides(LDH)anode,only 1.58 V is required to achieve a current density of 50 mA·cm-2,outperforming Pt/RuO *** continuous electrolysis for 100 h,the potential increases by merely 19 mV from the initial 1.58 V,indicating excellent *** study presents a novel strategy for developing highly active and stable heterogeneous catalysts,offering insights into the dynamic evolution of catalyst structures and laying the groundwork for designing efficient and stable composite catalysts for energy conversion applications.

The most critical part of a neutron computed tomography(NCT) system is the image processing algorithm,which directly affects the quality and speed of the reconstructed *** types of noise in the system can degrade the quality of the reconstructed ***,to improve the quality of the reconstructed images of NCT systems,efficient image processing algorithms must be *** anisotropic diffusion filtering(ADF) algorithm can not only effectively suppress the noise in the projection data,but also preserve the image edge structure information by reducing the diffusion at the image ***,we propose the application of the ADF algorithm for NCT image *** compare the performance of different algorithms in NCT systems,we reconstructed images using the ordered subset simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique(OS-SART) algorithm with different regular terms as image processing *** the iterative reconstruction,we selected two image processing algorithms,the Total Variation and split Bregman solved total variation algorithms,for comparison with the performance of the ADF ***,the filtered back-projection algorithm was used for comparison with an iterative *** reconstructing the projection data of the numerical and clock models,we compared and analyzed the effects of each algorithm applied in the NCT *** on the reconstruction results,OS-SART-ADF outperformed the other algorithms in terms of denoising,preserving the edge structure,and suppressing *** example,when the 3D Shepp–Logan was reconstructed at 25 views,the root mean square error of OS-SART-ADF was the smallest among the four iterative algorithms,at only *** universal quality index,mean structural similarity,and correlation coefficient of the reconstructed image were the largest among all algorithms,with values of 0.9877,0.9878,and 0.9887,respectively.

Response of partitioning to cooling rate for different solutes in aluminum alloys

It is commonly recognized that the cooling rate has a substantial effect on solute partitioning and its resultant microsegregation during *** classical dendrite tip undercooling theory clarifies the mitigation of microsegregation by increasing the cooling ***,most of the studies focused on binary alloys,leaving an open question as to whether the microsegregation of different solutes in a multi-component alloy system exhibits a relieving degree similar to increasing cooling *** a widely used 6022-type Al alloy(Al-0.76Mg-0.93Si-0.2Fe)as a model alloy,the current study reveals that the microsegregation of Mg gets alleviated to the greatest extent,followed by those of Si and Fe when the cooling rate increases from 5 to 128 K/*** phenomenon is attributed to the solute-based difference in response to partitioning to cooling rate(denoted as Rk).We propose a theoretical equation to quantify Rk,and the R_(k)values of solute Mg,Si,and Fe successfully explain the rank of solute partitioning in ***,a broad range of R_(k)values of other commonly used alloying elements in Al alloys were calculated and ranked,delivering a handy tool to predict the microsegregation behavior and sol-ubility of different solute elements upon sub-rapid solidification,which is consistent with experimental *** framework can also be extended to other multi-component alloy systems.

Hardware-in-the-loop simulation technology plays an important role in the flight performance and safety test of UAV flight control system. The hardware-in-the-loop simulation method can excavate the potential faults of the flight control system, optimize and adjust the flight control algorithm in time, and lay a foundation for ensuring the safety of outfield flight. In this paper, a hardware-in-the-loop simulation based fault injection method for UAV flight control sensor was proposed. Mathematical models and fault mechanism models of flight control sensors such as gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer were constructed. The UAV body model and sensor fault simulation model were established in Simulink environment to form a hardware-in-the-loop simulation system. The sensor fault injection test based on flight control hardware in the loop simulation was carried out. The test results showed that the built flight control hardware in the loop simulation system could effectively simulate the flight control sensor fault and test the flight performance of the flight control sensor under the condition of failure. © 2024 IEEE.

The presence or absence of sea ice introduces a substantial perturbation to surface-atmosphere energy *** the effect of varying sea ice cover on surface-atmosphere interactions is an important consideration for understanding the Arctic climate *** recurring North Water Polynya(NOW)serves as a natural laboratory for isolating cloud responses to a rapid,near-step perturbation in sea *** this study,we employed high-resolution Arctic System Reanalysis version 2(ASRv2)data to estimate turbulent heat fluxes over the NOW and nearby sea ice(NSI)area between 2005/2006 and 2015/*** results indicate that the average turbulent heat fluxes in the polynya are about 87%and 86%higher than in the NSI area over the 10 years during the entire duration of the polynya and during polar night,*** turbulent heat fluxes from the polynya tend to produce more low-level *** relationship between the polynya and low cloud in winter was examined based on Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations(CALIPSO).The low-cloud fraction(0-2 km)was about 7%-34%larger over the polynya than the NSI area,and the ice water content below 200 m was about 250%-413%higher over the former than the *** correlation between cloud fraction and turbulent heat fluxes in the polynya peaks around the altitude of 200-300 *** results suggest that the NOW affects the Arctic boundary layer cloudiness and structure in ***,higher horizontal resolution reanalysis data can advance our understanding of the cloud-polynya response.

Recent advances in electrochemical decontamination of perfluorinated compounds from water: a review

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) pose serious human health and environmental risks due to their persistence and toxicity. Among the available PFAS remediation options, the electrochemical approach is promising with better control. In this review, recent advances in the decontamination of PFAS from water using several state-of-the-art electrochemical strategies, including electro-oxidation, electro-adsorption, and electro-coagulation, were systematically reviewed. We aimed to elucidate their design principles, underlying working mechanisms, and the effects of operation factors (e.g., solution pH, applied voltage, and reactor configuration). The recent developments of innovative electrochemical systems and novel electrode materials were highlighted. In addition, the development of coupled processes that could overcome the shortcomings of low efficiency and high energy consumption of conventional electrochemical systems was also emphasized. This review identified several major knowledge gaps and challenges in the scalability and adaptability of efficient electrochemical systems for PFAS remediation. Materials science and system design developments are forging a path toward sustainable treatment of PFAS-contaminated water through electrochemical technologies.

The microscopic characterization of isolated bubbles in gassy soil plays an important role in the macroscopic physical properties of sediments and is a key factor in the study of geological hazards in gas-bearing *** on the box-counting method and the pore fractal features in porous media,a fractal model of bubble microstructure parameters in gassy soil under different gas con-tents and vertical load conditions is established by using an industrial X-ray CT scanning *** results show that the fractal di-mension of bubbles in the sample is correlated with the volume fraction of bubbles,and it is also restricted by the vertical *** three-dimensional fractal dimension of the sample is about 1 larger than the average two-dimensional fractal dimension of all the slices from the same *** uniform porous media fractal model is used to test the equivalent diameter,and the results show that the variation of the measured pore diameter ratio is jointly restricted by the volume fraction and the vertical *** addition,the measured self-similarity interval of the bubble area distribution is tested by the porous media fractal capillary bundle model,and the fitting curve of measured pore area ratio in a small loading range is obtained in this paper.
