Previous studies on the UAV swarm air combat decision-making problem lack consideration of uncertainty, intense confrontation, and high dynamics of aerial combat scenarios. This paper delves into the target allocation decision problem of the UAV attack and defense confrontation in a dynamic aerial combat environment. First, a dynamic game model is proposed to adapt changes in combat resources and adversaries’ behavior throughout multi-stage game processes. Then, the corresponding Nash equilibrium is solved based on a game learning algorithm- the Q-Learning algorithm. Finally, we consider the case where the UAV destructive probability is unknown, an uncertainty model is designed for predicting the UAV destructive probability based on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In non-cooperative scenarios, wideband frequency hopping (FH) communication reconnaissance including FH signal detection, parameter estimation, and network sorting under single-channel reception is challenging. The FH pattern contains the most information about FH signals. So it is the core of FH parameter estimation. Based on the task analysis, this paper proposes a blind prediction framework combining deep learning (DL) and clustering methods to improve the accuracy and efficiency of FH pattern estimation for mixed signals in the wideband spectrum. The unique advantage of this framework is that it requires no prior signal information and anchors but exploits the inherent time-frequency (TF) properties of asynchronous FH signals. It has a strong generalization ability and can adapt to signals of any shape. Moreover, a new comprehensive evaluation metric, normalized root mean square error including missed detection (NRMSE-MD), suitable for sequence data prediction is proposed to evaluate the level of missed detection and false detection in signal monitoring. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed framework and the effectiveness of the proposed evaluation metric. © 2023 IEEE.

Reinforcement learning(RL) has roots in dynamic programming and it is called adaptive/approximate dynamic programming(ADP) within the control community. This paper reviews recent developments in ADP along with RL and its applications to various advanced control fields. First, the background of the development of ADP is described, emphasizing the significance of regulation and tracking control problems. Some effective offline and online algorithms for ADP/adaptive critic control are displayed, where the main results towards discrete-time systems and continuous-time systems are surveyed, ***, the research progress on adaptive critic control based on the event-triggered framework and under uncertain environment is discussed, respectively, where event-based design, robust stabilization, and game design are reviewed. Moreover, the extensions of ADP for addressing control problems under complex environment attract enormous attention. The ADP architecture is revisited under the perspective of data-driven and RL frameworks,showing how they promote ADP formulation ***, several typical control applications with respect to RL and ADP are summarized, particularly in the fields of wastewater treatment processes and power systems, followed by some general prospects for future research. Overall, the comprehensive survey on ADP and RL for advanced control applications has d emonstrated its remarkable potential within the artificial intelligence era. In addition, it also plays a vital role in promoting environmental protection and industrial intelligence.

Upper crustal azimuthal anisotropy and seismogenic tectonics of the Hefei segment of the Tan-Lu Fault Zone from ambient noise tomography

The Tan-Lu Fault Zone is a large NNE-trending fault zone that has a substantial effect on the development of eastern China and its earthquake disaster prevention efforts. Aiming at the azimuthally anisotropic structure in the upper crust and seismogenic tectonics in the Hefei segment of this fault, we collected phase velocity dispersion data of fundamental mode Rayleigh waves from ambient noise cross-correlation functions of ~400 temporal seismographs in an area of approximately 80 × 70 km along the fault zone. The period band of the dispersion data was ~0.5–10 s. We inverted for the upper crustal three-dimensional(3-D) shear velocity model with azimuthal anisotropy from the surface to 10 km depth by using a 3-D direct azimuthal anisotropy inversion method. The inversion result shows the spatial distribution characteristics of the tectonic units in the upper crust. Additionally, the deformation of the Tan-Lu Fault Zone and its conjugated fault systems could be inferred from the anisotropy model. In particular, the faults that have remained active from the early and middle Pleistocene control the anisotropic characteristics of the upper crustal structure in this area. The direction of fast axes near the fault zone area in the upper crust is consistent with the strike of the faults, whereas for the region far away from the fault zone, the direction of fast axes is consistent with the direction of the regional principal stress caused by plate movement. Combined with the azimuthal anisotropy models in the deep crust and uppermost mantle from the surface wave and Pn wave, the different anisotropic patterns caused by the Tan-Lu Fault Zone and its conjugated fault system nearby are shown in the upper and lower crust. Furthermore,by using the double-difference method, we relocated the Lujiang earthquake series, which contained 32 earthquakes with a depth shallower than 10 km. In order to solve the problem that image blur is easily caused by camera shaking of micro-robots during surgical navigation, which leads to the accumulation of SLAM errors, this paper studies the feature point extraction optimization method based on deep learning in fuzzy scenes, proposes an improved defuzzification network, and finally applies the network to the front end of SLAM, and conducts experimental verification on the open data set TUM. The results show that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the accuracy of front-end feature extraction and matching. © 2023 IEEE.

Dynamic states in mutual-coupled mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers(QCLs) were numerically investigated in the parameter space of injection strength and detuning frequency based on the Lang-Kobayashi equations model. Three types of period-one states were found, with different periods of injection time delay τ_(inj), 2τ_(inj), and reciprocal of the detuning frequency. Besides, square-wave, quasi-period, pulse-burst and chaotic oscillations were also observed. It is concluded that external-cavity periodic dynamics and optical modes beating are the mainly periodic dynamics. The interaction of the two periodic dynamics and the high-frequency dynamics stimulated by strong injection induces the dynamic states *** work helps to understand the dynamic behaviors in QCLs and shows a new way to mid-infrared wide-band chaotic laser.

To address the increasing computational demands and the need for enhanced stability in the orbit prediction of large-scale resident space objects (RSOs), this paper proposes a novel method grounded in orbital dynamics, which defines and computes environmental, dynamical, and fingerprint features. A feature fusion strategy is then applied to introduce a Multi-OP model comprising a shared backbone and a prediction layer tailored for orbit prediction tasks. Specifically, the shared backbone integrates environmental and dynamical features to capture public information, thereby enhancing the model’s generalization ability. The prediction layer, in contrast, leverages fingerprint features to generate individualized orbit predictions for each RSO. Experimental results demonstrate that the Multi-OP model not only enhances the accuracy of orbit prediction but also exhibits remarkable stability. © 2025 IEEE.

The most common failure in motors is bearing failure. Traditional fault diagnosis methods require manual feature extraction, which has a high level of uncertainty and complexity. This article proposes a motor bearing fault diagnostic method based on Gramian angular field image encoding and CNN-SVM. The method consists of three stages: Firstly, the original vibration signals of the motor bearing are transformed into two-dimensional images using Gramian angular field image encoding. Next, an enhanced CNN model is employed to accurately and quickly identify the elements in the images. Finally, a Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used as the final classifier to further improve the accuracy and speed of fault classification. In the experimental design, the proposed model is validated and analyzed using a bearing fault dataset from Case Western Reserve University. The results demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of this method, providing a theoretical basis for guiding bearing maintenance decisions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

In recent years, soft grippers have gained significant attention due to their adaptability and safety. However, when performing horizontal object grasping, their limited structural stiffness prevents them from withstanding the torque generated by friction between the gripper and the object, leading to a loss of contact and limiting their horizontal load capacity. To address this limitation while preserving the adaptability of soft grippers, this paper proposes a gripper structure called the rigid-soft robotic hand, which incorporates lateral rigid connecting rods outside the soft joints. The paper analyzes the bending capacity of the rigid-soft joint using kinematic methods and investigates the influence of link design parameters on maximum bending angle. Subsequently, a finite element analysis is conducted to study the finger structure with the added connecting rods, aiming to optimize the link design parameters. Experimental results demonstrate the grasping capabilities of the rigid-soft gripper in both vertical and horizontal orientations. The findings show that the rigid-soft gripper significantly improves the load-carrying capacity during horizontal object grasping while maintaining the adaptability of the soft gripper. © The Authors.
