In community-based software development, developers frequently rely on live-chatting to discuss emergent bugs/errors they encounter in daily development tasks. However, it remains a challenging task to accurately record such knowledge due to the noisy nature of interleaved dialogs in live chat data. In this paper, we first formulate the task of identifying and synthesizing bug reports from community live chats, and propose a novel approach, named BugListener, to address the challenges. Specifically, BugListener automates three sub-tasks: 1) Disentangle the dialogs from massive chat logs by using a Feed-Forward neural network;2) Identify the bug-report dialogs from separated dialogs by leveraging the Graph neural network to learn the contextual information;3) Synthesize the bug reports by utilizing Transfer Learning techniques to classify the sentences into: observed behaviors (OB), expected behaviors (EB), and steps to reproduce the bug (SR). BugListener is evaluated on six open source projects. The results show that: for bug report identification, BugListener achieves the average F1 of 77.74%, improving the best baseline by 12.96%;and for bug report synthesis task, BugListener could classify the OB, EB, and SR sentences with the F1 of 84.62%, 71.46%, and 73.13%, improving the best baselines by 9.32%, 12.21%, 10.91%, respectively. A human evaluation study also confirms the effectiveness of BugListener in generating relevant and accurate bug reports. These demonstrate the significant potential of applying BugListener in community-based software development, for promoting bug discovery and quality improvement. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. Neuroimaging text mining extracts knowledge from neuroimaging texts and has received widespread attention. Topic learning is an important research focus of neuroimaging text mining. However, current neuroimaging topic learning researches mainly used traditional probability topic models to extract topics from literature and cannot obtain high-quality neuroimaging topics. The existing topic learning methods also cannot meet the requirements of topic learning oriented to full-text neuroimaging literature. In this paper, three types of neuroimaging research topic events are defined to describe the process and result of neuroimaging researches. An event based topic learning pipeline, called neuroimaging Event-BTM, is proposed to realize topic learning from full-text neuroimaging literature. The experimental results on the PLoS One data set show that the accuracy and completeness of the proposed method are significantly better than the existing main topic learning methods. © 2020, The Author(s).

Role of strategy update rules in the spatial memory-based mixed strategy games

Based on a continuous mixed strategy game model considering the memory mechanism and the uncertainty of individual decision-making, we explore the influence of several different update rules on the spatial cooperation behavior. Here, we mainly investigate the role of the Moran-like process, Fermi rule and replicator dynamics in the evolution of cooperation. Meanwhile, we further compare the evolution of cooperation when the memory mechanism and individual uncertainty are taken into account. In particular, memory length M and strategy adjustment factor $$\delta $$ can promote the cooperation behavior in different ways. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations indicate that the Moran-like process can generally drive the expansion of cooperative clusters faster and finally achieve the highest frequency of cooperation although the Fermi update rule performs better under the same condition. Moreover, the replicator dynamics create the worst scenario as far as the evolution of cooperation is concerned. Therefore, the level of cooperation strongly depends on the strategy update rules; these findings may be helpful to understand and analyze the evolutionary process of cooperation in many real-world natural and social systems.

Conditional GANs with Auxiliary Discriminative Classifier

Conditional generative models aim to learn the underlying joint distribution of data and labels to achieve conditional data generation. Among them, the auxiliary classifier generative adversarial network (AC-GAN) has been widely used, but suffers from the problem of low intra-class diversity of the generated samples. The fundamental reason pointed out in this paper is that the classifier of AC-GAN is generator-agnostic, which therefore cannot provide informative guidance for the generator to approach the joint distribution, resulting in a minimization of the conditional entropy that decreases the intra-class diversity. Motivated by this understanding, we propose a novel conditional GAN with an auxiliary discriminative classifier (ADC-GAN) to resolve the above problem. Specifically, the proposed auxiliary discriminative classifier becomes generator-aware by recognizing the class-labels of the real data and the generated data discriminatively. Our theoretical analysis reveals that the generator can faithfully learn the joint distribution even without the original discriminator, making the proposed ADC-GAN robust to the value of the coefficient hyperparameter and the selection of the GAN loss, and stable during training. Extensive experimental results on synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of ADC-GAN in conditional generative modeling compared to state-of-the-art classifier-based and projection-based conditional GANs. With the idea of divide and rule, there exist two different forms of semantic features flowing in the two stage instance segmentation paradigms. They are the global features at the image level and the instance features at the region-wise. The most significant distinction of the two macro-semantic morphological features lies in the different relevance of neighborhood features caused by background noise. Hence, we should consider different situations and make different schemes. Notice that the fields-of-view determines the range of local features that can be perceived in the convolution operation and implies the representation capability of the network. To this end, for FPN and Mask Head in two stage paradigms, we propose a more efficient methodology with Group-Inception and Asymmetric-Inception modules. This proposed methodology can act as a drop-in replacement to upgrade the plain convolution operation, which enables the network to look more via modeling long-range dependencies. Our method is simple yet effective. Quantitatively, we can significantly improve the state-of-the-art frameworks, including Mask R-CNN, Mask Scoring R-CNN, Cascade Mask R-CNN, and HTC by about 1.2%–2.2% AP on MS COCO test-dev yet with fewer parameters and FLOPs. Moreover, the proposed approach achieves competitive performances on the Scapes, KINS and SBD datasets. The source code of our method will be made available. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd

The task of detecting fraud in credit card transactions is crucial to ensure the security and stability of a financial system, as well as to enforce customer confidence in digital payment systems. Historically, credit card companies have used rule-based approaches to detect fraudulent transactions, but these have proven inadequate due to the complexity of fraud strategies and have been replaced by much more powerful solutions based on machine learning or deep learning algorithms. Despite significant progress, the current approaches to fraud detection suffer from a number of limitations: for example, it is unclear whether some transaction features are more effective than others in discriminating fraudulent transactions, and they often neglect possible correlations among transactions, even though they could reveal illicit behaviour. In this paper, we propose a novel credit card fraud detection (CCFD) method based on a transaction behaviour-based hierarchical gated network. First, we introduce a feature-oriented extraction module capable of identifying key features from original transactions, and such analysis is effective in revealing the behavioural characteristics of fraudsters. Second, we design a transaction-oriented extraction module capable of capturing the correlation between users' historical and current transactional behaviour. Such information is crucial for revealing users' sequential behaviour patterns. Our approach, called transactional-behaviour-based hierarchical gated network model (TbHGN), extracts two types of new transactional features, which are then combined in a feature interaction module to learn the final transactional representations used for CCFD. We have conducted extensive experiments on a real-world credit card transaction dataset with an increase in average F1 between 1.42% and 6.53% and an improvement in average AUC between 0.63% and 2.78% over the state of the art. © 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. Two-stream Hierarchical Similarity Reasoning for Image-text Matching

Reasoning-based approaches have demonstrated their powerful ability for the task of image-text matching. In this work, two issues are addressed for image-text matching. First, for reasoning processing, conventional approaches have no ability to find and use multi-level hierarchical similarity information. To solve this problem, a hierarchical similarity reasoning module is proposed to automatically extract context information, which is then co-exploited with local interaction information for efficient reasoning. Second, previous approaches only consider learning single-stream similarity alignment (i.e., image-to-text level or text-to-image level), which is inadequate to fully use similarity information for image-text matching. To address this issue, a two-stream architecture is developed to decompose image-text matching into image-to-text level and text-to-image level similarity computation. These two issues are investigated by a unifying framework that is trained in an end-to-end manner, namely two-stream hierarchical similarity reasoning network. The extensive experiments performed on the two benchmark datasets of MSCOCO and Flickr30K show the superiority of the proposed approach as compared to existing state-of-the-art methods. Generalized Visual Quality Assessment of GAN-Generated Face Images

Recent years have witnessed the dramatically increased interest in face generation with generative adversarial networks (GANs). A number of successful GAN algorithms have been developed to produce vivid face images towards different application scenarios. However, little work has been dedicated to automatic quality assessment of such GAN-generated face images (GFIs), even less have been devoted to generalized and robust quality assessment of GFIs generated with unseen GAN model. Herein, we make the first attempt to study the subjective and objective quality towards generalized quality assessment of GFIs. More specifically, we establish a large-scale database consisting of GFIs from four GAN algorithms, the pseudo labels from image quality assessment (IQA) measures, as well as the human opinion scores via subjective testing. Subsequently, we develop a quality assessment model that is able to deliver accurate quality predictions for GFIs from both available and unseen GAN algorithms based on meta-learning. In particular, to learn shared knowledge from GFIs pairs that are born of limited GAN algorithms, we develop the convolutional block attention (CBA) and facial attributes-based analysis (ABA) modules, ensuring that the learned knowledge tends to be consistent with human visual perception. Extensive experiments exhibit that the proposed model achieves better performance compared with the state-of-the-art IQA models, and is capable of retaining the effectiveness when evaluating GFIs from the unseen GAN algorithms. To evaluate the radiation tolerance of polycrystalline materials, the damage effects of Fe and W as typical body-centered cubic metals under uniform irradiation are studied by multi-scale models. An ideal descriptor, the absorption bias (the ratio of the absorption abilities of grain boundaries (GBs) to interstitials (I) and vacancies (V)), is proposed to reflect the radiation tolerance of metals with different grain sizes. Low absorption bias promotes defects annihilation through enhancing I-V recombination and optimally tuning its competition with GB absorption. Polycrystalline metals possess high anti-irradiation performance only with low absorption bias regulated by grain size and temperature. Furthermore, by comprehensively considering the mechanical property, thermal stability, and radiation tolerance described by absorption bias, nano-crystals are recommended for Fe-based structural materials but coarsegrained crystals for W-based plasma-facing materials. This work reevaluates the radiation tolerance of polycrystalline metals, resulting in new strategies for designing structural materials of nuclear devices through manipulating grain sizes. © 2024, The Authors.
