Aerial imagery is regularly used by crop researchers,growers and farmers to monitor crops during the growing *** extract meaningful information from large-scale aerial images collected from the field,high-throughput phenotypic analysis solutions are required,which not only produce high-quality measures of key crop traits,but also support professionals to make prompt and reliable crop management ***,we report AirSurf,an automated and open-source analytic platform that combines modern computer vision,up-to-date machine learning,and modular software engineering in order to measure yield-related phenotypes from ultra-large aerial *** quantify millions of in-field lettuces acquired by fixed-wing light aircrafts equipped with normalised difference vegetation index(NDVI)sensors,we customised AirSurf by combining computer vision algorithms and a deep-learning classifier trained with over 100,000 labelled lettuce *** tailored platform,AirSurf-Lettuce,is capable of scoring and categorising iceberg lettuces with high accuracy(>98%).Furthermore,novel analysis functions have been developed to map lettuce size distribution across the field,based on which associated global positioning system(GPS)tagged harvest regions have been identified to enable growers and farmers to conduct precision agricultural practises in order to improve the actual yield as well as crop marketability before the harvest.

Image segmentation is the indispensable part in the field of computer vision. There are tremendous methods for handling this task such as Otsu-thresholding and Fuzzy C-means (FCM). However, the segmentation results of the images are occasionally unsatisfactory due to the presence of noise. In this paper, two kinds of spatial information consisting of the relative position information and the intensity information of the neighborhood pixels in an image are taken into consideration in constructing the objective function in FCM. Moreover, Ant Lion Optimization, one of the recently proposed optimization algorithms is utilized to optimize the relevant index. Bio-inspired ALO has the robust ability to find optimal parameters in search spaces. So the proposed approach to image segmentation based on Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) and Ant Lion Optimization (ALO) may alleviate this problem to a certain degree. A series of experimental validation has been implemented for demonstrating the performance of the proposed approach in the end of the paper.

Credit card fraud problem is very common in recent years. It not only causes economic loss to people, but also causes trust crisis to enterprises. Due to the imbalance of data, fraud detection has always been tricky. In our previous work, we proposed a method of dealing with the class imbalance problem based on stacking ensemble learning and inverse random undersampling method (SIRUS). First, the inverse random undersampling method is used to generate multiple data subsets from the original data set. Then we use the stacking ensemble learning method for each data subset to train several different learners (also called first-level learners), and then the results generated by each first-level learner are taken as features to train a meta learner. We apply SIRUS to detect the credit card fraud in this paper. Our dataset comes from a financial company in China. A variety of measurements such as recall, precision, accuracy, F-measure, and G-mean to illustrate the effectiveness of our method in fraud detection. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2018.

Drawing support from an effective Medical Image Segmentation (MIS) is conducive to a substantial diagnostic basis for the physicians to identify the focus lesion in the patient body and give the subsequent clinical assessment of the patient status. Although various works have tried the challenging quantitative analysis problem, it is still difficult to conduct precise automatic segmentation, especially the soft tissue organs. In this decade, with the increased amount of available datasets, deep learning-based networks have achieved remarkable performance in image processing. Inspired by the state-of-the-art deep learning works, in this paper, we propose an end-to-end multi-layer network named RCGA-Net. It consists of an encoder-decoder backbone that integrates a coordinate attention mechanism based on space and channel and a global context extraction module to highlight more valuable information. To evaluate the performance of RCGA-Net, we apply it to different kinds of clinical and experimental MIS tasks to testify its generalization ability. Extensive experiments represent that our schema has taken the outperform or compatible results among the comparison methods group. Specifically, the numeric result of RCGA-Net on the pulmonary dataset has achieved a 99.12% optimum F1-score.

The rapid development of location-based social networks(LBSNs) provides people with an opportunity of better understanding their mobility behavior which enables them to decide their next *** example,it can help travelers to choose where to go next,or recommend salesmen the most potential places to deliver advertisements or sell *** this paper,a method for recommending points of interest(POIs)is proposed based on a collaborative tensor factorization(CTF)***,a generalized objective function is constructed for collaboratively factorizing a tensor with several feature ***,a 3-mode tensor is used to model all users' check-in behaviors,and three feature matrices are extracted to characterize the time distribution,category distribution and POI correlation,***,each user's preference to a POI at a specific time can be estimated by using *** order to further improve the recommendation accuracy,PCTF(Partitionbased CTF) is proposed to fill the missing entries of a tensor after clustering its every *** on a real checkin database show that the proposed method can provide more accurate location recommendation.

As one of the most important parts of network security, more significance is attached to intrusion detection system (IDS). Numerous techniques including support vector machine (SVM) have been applied to the intrusion detection. However, many methods are utilized to improve the original SVM whose performance is markedly depended on its kernel parameters. Evolutionary algorithms such as genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm algorithm (PSO) are also employed to search better kernel parameters while the traditional optimization methods are vulnerable to fall into local minima with slow speed of convergence. In order to improve the precision of SVM in intrusion detection, the support vector machine based on grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA-SVM) is proposed in the paper. To verify the practicality of the proposed method, several contrast experiments have been carried out using tool of Matlab. The experimental results finally demonstrates the superior performance of the proposed method on intrusion detection.

The 5G networks are expected to support autonomous driving to enhance driving experience and travel efficiency. Toward this goal, the valuable data generated by the complex and dynamic transportation system need to be collected. In this paper, we propose a roadside sensor-based vehicle counting scheme for collecting traffic flow information in complex traffic environment. In the scheme, the roadside sensor can sense the magnetic data, where the magnetic flux magnitude will be changed if a vehicle passes though the sense coverage of the sensor. Based on this, we first analyze the change of the magnetic signals in the complex traffic environment and process the magnetic signals collected by the roadside sensor. Then, an integrated algorithm is designed to detect and count the traffic flow by considering the features of the collected signals. After this, we carry out experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed vehicle counting scheme and analyze the vehicle counting error. According to the features of the error, we further design the error compensation strategy to correct the experiment results. Experimental verification results show that the vehicle counting accuracy before and after the error compensation in the complex traffic environment are 97.07% and 98.5%, respectively.

In this paper, a spherical helix module based on 3D printing and microfluidic technologies was fabricated, tested and applied to drug delivery applications. A liquid metal alloy is introduced to enhance the sensitivity of the complex and drug-/liquid-reconfigurable helix topology. Moreover, the influence of the dimensions of the hemisphere inscribed by the helical turns on the resonant frequency of the structure is researched. The microfluidic channels with 1 mm radius are shaped in the form of double semispherical helix using a Form-2 3D printer. To fulfill effectively the liquid metal (LM) injection, movement and recycle for reuse, a syringe pump is integrated to flexibly control the flow of the fluid. Besides, the proof-of-concept prototype achieves excellent radiation gain and impedance matching. The realized sensitivity is 0.96 mL/GHz and 0.33 mL/GHz corresponding with the frequency shift from 2.28 to 2.01 GHz and 2.01 to 1.65 GHz.

In Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), the unreliable wireless environment and highly dynamic topology make multi-content distribution inefficient due to the large amount of content requests from vehicles. This gives rise to the need for new content distribution schemes in VANETs. Current researches on content distribution for VANETs generally focus on the single type of content. In this paper, we consider both elastic (with no hard delay requirement) and inelastic (with a hard deadline) contents and propose a joint content distribution scheme in VANETs. We model the content distribution as an optimization problem which jointly minimizes the waiting delay of elastic requests and the failure ratio of inelastic requests. Then, we propose an efficient clonal selection-based approximate algorithm to solve the optimization problem. The performance of our scheme is evaluated by simulation using realistic vehicular traces. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme has better performance than previous solutions.

We address a special kind of Internet of Things (IoT) systems that are also real-time. We call them real-time IoT (RT-IoT) systems. An RT-IoT system needs to meet timing constraints of system delay, clock synchronization, deadline, and so on. The timing constraints turn to be more stringent as we get closer to the physical things. Based on the reference architecture of IoT (ISO/IEC 30141), the RT-IoT conceptual model is established. The idea of edge subsystem is introduced. The sensing & con-trolling domain is the basis of the edge subsystem, and the edge subsystem usually must meet the hard real-time constraints. The model includes four perspectives, the time view, computation view, communication view, and control view. Each view looks, from a different angle, at how the time parameters impact an RT-IoT system.
