The stability control system is an important means to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system. In view of the shortcomings of the existing offline/real-time simulation test methods, a closed-loop simulation scheme based on virtual component technology is proposed. The virtual component technology of the stability control device is researched, and the virtualization method of the external hardware interface of the device is designed. On this basis, a closed-loop simulation framework of the stability control system under the offline/real-time simulation test environment is proposed. The functional logic of each component under the framework are analyzed. The calculation and feedback process of the entire closed-loop simulation system are analyzed in depth, which effectively solves the difficulty of simulation analysis and test verification of large-scale stability control system, providing a new method for the research and verification of stability control system strategy.

Organic nitrogen emissions from light-duty gasoline vehicles (LDGVs) is believed to play a pivotal role in atmospheric particulate matter (PM) in urban environments. Here, the characterization of organic nitrogen emitted by LDGVs with varying engine displacements at different speed phases was analyzed using a Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) at molecular level. For the LDGV with small engine displacements, the CHON compounds exhibit higher abundance, molecular weight, oxygen content and aromaticity in the extra-high-speed phase. Conversely, for the LDGV with big engine displacements, more CHON compounds with elevated abundance, molecular weight, oxygen content and aromaticity were observed in the low-speed phase. Our study assumed that the formation of CHON compounds emitted from LDGVs is mainly the oxidation reaction during fuel combustion, so the potential precursor-product pairs related to oxidation process were used to study the degree of combustion reaction. The results show that the highest proportion of oxidation occurs during extra-high-speed phase for LDGV with small engine displacements, and during low-speed phase for LDGV with big engine displacements. These results offer a novel perspective for comprehending the mechanism behind vehicle emissions formation and contribute valuable insights for crafting effective air pollution regulations. © 2023, The Authors. Addressing the stability challenges posed by the unpredictability and intermittent nature of wind power output during grid integration, and aiming to enhance the understanding of factors influencing grid stability upon wind power system connection and to implement efficient control measures, a grid- connected model of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) was established utilizing a customized version of the RTRES (Real-Time Power system simulation) software, specifically designed for emerging power systems and aligned with wind farm realities. Stability simulations for grid connection were conducted under both voltage regulation mode and reactive power regulation mode across a range of wind speeds, revealing distinct technical behaviors. The findings suggest that the generator's terminal voltage, terminal current, active power, reactive power, and rotor speed exhibit strong correlations with variations in wind speed, and that all parameters are capable of stabilizing following initial disturbances.

Accurate forecasting of day-ahead electrical load is a key to optimize the operation of the integrated energy system (IES) and a fundamental function of the cyber-physical system (CPS) of IES. Due to the characteristics of different features, data collected by CPS often have different sampling frequencies, resulting in mining data trends inadequately when making a load forecast. This paper proposes an GRU-based model to combine historical data with different sampling frequencies in forecasting day-ahead building-level load. First, day-level features are clustered by K-means. Hour-levels features are then partitioned according to clustering results and inputted separately into a gated recurrent unit (GRU) based neural network to capture relationships between external features and load fluctuations. The temporal dependencies of minute-level data are captured by the GRU network directly without any external features. Finally, the least square method is used to combine forecasting results at each hour of two models. The simulation results present that the proposed model performs better than a single model when applying to real-world data. © 2021 IEEE.

Multi-Function Integrated RF system (MIRFS) is a crucial part of an aircraft's airborne systems. Unlike disposable equipment such as missiles and torpedoes, MIRFS has to face two different operating environments, ground and air, during a mission cycle. In these two operating environments, the test equipment and data processing methods are different. These differences bring problems with test information not being fully utilized and testability indexes not being accurately calculated. Traditional testability modelling and analysis method cannot deal with the above problems. In this paper, a phase-based testability modelling and analysis method using generalized stochastic Petri net (GSPN) is proposed to fully use test information and determinate accurate testability indexes. Firstly, depending on the operating environment, two phases which are readiness phase and flight combat phase are designed to build separate testability models. Secondly, since static modelling techniques like UML and SysML lack the ability to dynamically evaluate and analyse system, GSPN is used to model the testability of each phase to better describe the MIRFS state and behavior. Then the testability models for each phase are integrated and optimised into the mission cycle GSPN testability model, which contains fully test information. The integration principle involves linking testability models according to the mission cycle sequence, including time synchronization, fault detection synchronization, and maintenance synchronization. Finally, Markov chain is used to solve the mission cycle GSPN model and obtain the precise testability indexes. The testability indexes obtained effectively enhances the testability of the MIRFS. This method can also be used when there are more phases of the mission. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Stability Evaluation and Frequency Drift Analysis of Sub-Synchronous Oscillation in Grid-Connected PMSG Wind Turbines

The sub-synchronous oscillation (SSO) in grid-connected permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSG) is a complex dynamic behaviour influenced by multiple factors. The phenomenon of SSO has the characteristic of frequency drift. Previous studies have mainly focused on the SSO stability, without further explanation of the reasons for frequency drift in SSO. In this paper, a SISO transfer function model is constructed to analyse the SSO characteristics of grid-connected PMSG. The study quantitatively analyses the impacts of grid strength, operating conditions and voltage/current control parameters on system stability and oscillation frequency based on amplitude/phase margin. It reveals the triggering mechanism of SSO instability in weak grid strength and characterises the constraining relationship between grid strength/operating conditions and the stable operational region of the system. The results demonstrate that variations in SSO frequency are predominantly influenced by control parameter settings, with a measurable variation range of up to 26.7 Hz. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed model and the theoretical analysis results are verified through simulations.

NH 3 emission control has proven to be of great importance in reducing PM 2.5 concentrations in China, while how it affects nitrogen/sulfur (N/S) deposition is still unclear. This study developed a new response surface model to quantify the responses of N/S deposition to NH 3 emission control in the Yangtze River Delta, China. NH 3 control was found to have higher efficiency in reducing N/S deposition than NO x and SO 2 alone. The reduced N deposition response to NH 3 emission abatement was higher in the northern part of the YRD region, whereas oxidized N deposition decreased sharply in the region with a low N critical load. An unexpected cobenefit was found in reducing N deposition when we controlled the NH 3 and NO x emissions simultaneously. Compared with the sum effect of individual NH 3 and NO x emission abatement, the extra benefits from the synergy controls accounted for 4.4% (1.23 kg N·ha -1 ·yr -1 ) of the total N deposition, of which 81% came from the oxidized N deposition. The YRD region could receive the largest cobenefits with a 1:1 ratio of NO x :NH 3 emission reduction. The NH 3 emission control also changed the ratio of wet S deposition to dry S deposition and mitigated wet S deposition. These findings highlight the effectiveness of NH 3 emission control and suggest a multiple pollutant control strategy for reducing N/S deposition, which may also be appropriate for other regions in China and other countries. © 2022, The Authors. As an important supporting facility for electric vehicles, the reasonable planning and layout of charging stations are of great significance to the development of electric vehicles. However, the planning and layout of charging stations is affected by various complex factors such as policy economy, charging demand, user charging comfort, and road traffic conditions. How to weigh various factors to construct a reasonable model of charging station location and capacity has become a major difficulty in the field of electric vehicle charging facility planning. Firstly, this paper constructs the location and capacity optimization model of the charging station with the goal of maximizing the revenue of operators and minimizing the user's charging additional cost. At the same time, the road time-consuming index is introduced to quantify the impact of road congestion on the user's charging additional cost, so as to effectively improve the user's satisfaction during charging. Then, aiming at the charging station planning model, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm with an elite strategy (NSGA-Ⅱ) based on chaos initialization and arithmetic crossover operator is proposed. Finally, taking the Haidian District of Beijing as the simulation object, the results show that compared with the situation of urban traffic networks not considered, the model proposed in this paper significantly reduces the cost of lost time of users by 11.4% and the total additional cost of users' charging by 7.6%. It not only ensures the economy of the system, but also effectively improves the charging satisfaction of users, which further verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the model, and can provide a reference for the planning and layout of charging stations in the future. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

The fundamental components of the UHV DC transmission control system, which are essential to the reliable functioning of the HVDC transmission system, are converter valve delay angle control and converter transformer on-load tap-changer (OLTC) control. However, the converter's harmonic current change rule is directly impacted by the intricate regulatory approach. Thus, using the line commutated converter (LCC) type conventional DC transmission system as an example, we build a control circuit model of delay angle control coupled with tap control in this paper. Current and minimum α angle are constant for the rectifier side, and current and γ angle are constant for the inverter side. The current waveform of the converter transformer network and valve side during the voltage boost and buck process is examined by turning the tap. The findings of the simulation demonstrate that the current waveform's degree of distortion varies with various tapping, with the most severe waveform distortion occurring during the boost operation, which has localized sharp waves and a high harmonic content. Conversely, there is less harmonic content and the waveform tends to be more regular.

Using poisson disk sampling to render oil particles at sea

Fluid simulation is one of the most complex tasks in three-dimensional simulation. Specifically, in the case of oil spills at sea, the oil film constantly interacts and is influenced by the environment, thus making its composition and properties change over time. In this paper, we tackle this problem by using both Lehr's spreading model and Hoult's drifting model to build the oil spill physical model. Unlike previous studies that only applied the Poisson disk algorithm to static and solid objects, we applied it in a three-dimensional space to divide the oil film into fluid particles. The track of oil particles under the influence of waves, wind, and currents is rendered by the Unity3D tool with C# programming language, which vividly and realistically simulates the collision of oil particles on the ocean scene with obstacles such as buoys and small islands. The result of this research can be used to predict oil spill direction, thus providing the solution to respond and minimize the damage caused by oil spills at sea. We also discuss some improvements to our model by using the Marching cube algorithm to render the Metaball model. © 2019 University of Zagreb.
