In the present scenario of the ‘one-tapin-one-tapout’ operation mode in urban rail transportation, determining passenger travel trajectories is challenging, thereby decreasing the effective counting of passengers on trains. In order to address this issue, a method for calculating passenger capacity on trains was developed by analyzing passenger travel information extracted from AFC data and train timetables. First, this research estimated the components of journey time to infer and reconstruct the passenger's specific spatiotemporal travel trajectory. The passenger-train matching model was then used to assign passengers to specific trains and calculate the passenger load of different trains at each station. At last, it took Suzhou Metro Line 3 as an example and analyzed the spatiotemporal distribution of urban rail transit passenger flow on a single line based on the proposed passenger-train model. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Diffusion-4K: Ultra-High-Resolution Image Synthesis with Latent Diffusion Models

In this paper, we present Diffusion-4K, a novel framework for direct ultra-high-resolution image synthesis using text-to-image diffusion models. The core advancements include: (1) Aesthetic-4K Benchmark: addressing the absence of a publicly available 4K image synthesis dataset, we construct Aesthetic-4K, a comprehensive benchmark for ultra-high-resolution image generation. We curated a high-quality 4K dataset with carefully selected images and captions generated by GPT-4o. Additionally, we introduce GLCM Score and Compression Ratio metrics to evaluate fine details, combined with holistic measures such as FID, Aesthetics and CLIPScore for a comprehensive assessment of ultra-high-resolution images. (2) Wavelet-based Fine-tuning: we propose a wavelet-based fine-tuning approach for direct training with photorealistic 4K images, applicable to various latent diffusion models, demonstrating its effectiveness in synthesizing highly detailed 4K images. Consequently, Diffusion-4K achieves impressive performance in high-quality image synthesis and text prompt adherence, especially when powered by modern large-scale diffusion models (e.g., SD3-2B and Flux-12B). Extensive experimental results from our benchmark demonstrate the superiority of Diffusion-4K in ultra-high-resolution image synthesis. Code is available at https://***/zhang0jhon/diffusion-4k. Electromechanical actuators play a crucial role in diverse engineering and physics fields, particularly in the aerospace and automotive industries. Their dynamic characteristics significantly affect the aeroelastic behavior of fins, especially regarding the flutter boundary. Nevertheless, ascertaining the dynamic characteristics of these actuators requires navigating the intricate interactions of multiple linear and nonlinear components. This study introduces a high-fidelity dynamic model designed to effectively address the complexities inherent in an electromechanical fin-actuator system. The model incorporates essential nonlinear elements, such as friction torque and dynamic backlash, along with fundamental components like the gear reducer, ball screw, transmission fork, and servomotor. To clarify these complex interactions, advanced models, namely, the LuGre model, the Bai model (an enhanced version of the Flores model), and the Kahraman model—are integrated into our framework. A comparative analysis is conducted between this complex nonlinear model and a simpler linear counterpart. This comparison is facilitated by rigorous numerical simulations that employ stepped frequency sweeping across various parameter configurations. The findings reveal that the dynamic stiffness characteristics of the fin shaft are markedly complicated under the combined effects of numerous nonlinear factors. Specifically, nonlinear friction originating from the friction ring diminishes response amplitude and seemingly augments the dynamic stiffness of the actuator due to reduced deflections under loads. Conversely, increased clearance among components can lead to a decrement in the dynamic stiffness amplitude of the actuator. ©2025 by ASME.

Design of Distributed Nonlinear Observers Without Using Global Inputs

This paper investigates the design of distributed observers for a class of nonlinear systems. The designed distributed observers reside in a network of sensor nodes. The communication links in the network enable each sensor node to estimate all states of the nonlinear system, even though each one can only collect a small portion of the system's outputs. However, all inputs of the system are still needed at each node to carry out a correct state estimation. For this problem, the paper further proposes a distributed nonlinear observer without using global inputs, in which each sensor node only needs partial input information of the nonlinear system. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Micro-macro Wavelet-based Gaussian Splatting for 3D Reconstruction from Unconstrained Images

3D reconstruction from unconstrained image collections presents substantial challenges due to varying appearances and transient occlusions. In this paper, we introduce Micro-macro Wavelet-based Gaussian Splatting (MW-GS), a novel approach designed to enhance 3D reconstruction by disentangling scene representations into global, refined, and intrinsic components. The proposed method features two key innovations: Micro-macro Projection, which allows Gaussian points to capture details from feature maps across multiple scales with enhanced diversity;and Wavelet-based Sampling, which leverages frequency domain information to refine feature representations and significantly improve the modeling of scene appearances. Additionally, we incorporate a Hierarchical Residual Fusion Network to seamlessly integrate these features. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MW-GS delivers state-of-the-art rendering performance, surpassing existing methods. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the rapid progress of aerospace frontier engineering,the extreme space thermal environment has brought severe challenges to astronauts’space suits,putting forward higher requirements for thermal protection *** this basis,a unique core-shell structured hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)/silicon dioxide(SiO_(2))nanofiber membrane(HS)was prepared using the coaxial electrospinning method,of which both the thermal insulation SiO_(2)nanofiber cortex and the passive radiation cooling(PRC)h-BN nanofiber core make it a promising dual-effect thermal management ***,when the amount of h-BN is 0.9 g,the resultant HS(HS0.9)exhibits astonishing low thermal conductivity of 0.026 W m−1 K−1 and high reflectivity and emissivity of exceeding 90%over an extremely wide *** expected dual-effect thermal management performance enables the HS to have an ideal cooling effect under both high sunlight intensity and strong light *** addition,HS also shows excellent flame retardant performance arising from the excellent high-temperature stability of h-BN and SiO_(2).What is more,the tensile strength of HS0.9 was also significantly increased from 0.42 to 7.2 MPa by encapsulating polyimide through vacuum ***,the research results of this work provide innovative highlights for high-temperature protection in daily life and even extreme space environments.

This paper investigates the cooperative link configuration problem for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) in Underwater Acoustic (UWA) sensor networks with Energy Harvesting (EH), which aims to maximize long-term cumulative capacity by jointly optimizing cooperation relay, AUV transmission power, and relay transmission power. Subject to unknown time-varying Channel State Information (CSI), unpredictable stochastic EH, and variable communication topology caused by AUV mobility, the proposed problem is an unknown dynamic combination decision optimization problem. To resist the change of the dynamic UWA communication topology with unknown time-varying CSI and EH, a novel collaborative contextual multi-armed bandit learning framework is proposed, which allows relay nodes to learn cooperatively and enriches the learning information of relays. Consequently, the proposed learning framework can resist the change of the dynamic UWA communication topology efficiently, thereby achieving the superior link configuration quickly. Besides, a learning-rate adjustment rule for the dynamic UWA communication topology is proposed to adaptively balance the exploration-exploitation, thereby avoiding missing the real superior joint relay-power configuration. Finally, simulation results show the significantly superiority of the proposed scheme. © 2015 IEEE.

Experimental study and molecular dynamics simulation:Thermal behaviors, volatile products and chlorine migration characteristics during pyrolysis and combustion of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid waste salt

An organochlorine pesticide, 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (24D), produces pesticide by-product waste salts that pose a potential risk of secondary contamination, creating significant challenges in disposal management. While thermal treatment has emerged as a viable method for managing 24D waste salt, reducing the thermal temperature and controlling the release of chlorine-containing organic compounds from volatile products remains a significant obstacle. In this work, the effects of pyrolysis and combustion on the 24D thermal treatment were explored by TGA-FTIR-GCMS coupling techniques and molecular dynamics calculations (ReaxFF). Combustion achieved a total organic carbon (TOC) removal rate of 93.17 % at 873K, which was higher than that achieved by pyrolysis. In terms of volatile products, the release of small molecule gases such as CO2, CO, CH4, and HCl is significantly enhanced during combustion, the HCl emission in the combustion process is 2.7 times that in the pyrolysis process. However, as the temperature of the combustion process increased, 24D synthesis reaction to form substances such as heterocyclic-Cl, the amount of which increased to 7.01 % at 873K. ReaxFF-MD simulations investigated the thermal treatment of 24D, revealing a complex pyrolysis and combustion mechanism, including multiple reaction pathways for dechlorination, dehydrogenation, dehydroxylation, and generation of chlorinated products HCl and CH3Cl. The combustion process can increase the free radicals and provide more degradation pathways in the reaction system, which promotes the migratory conversion of organic-Cl to inorganic-Cl in 24D. Therefore, combustion treatment with low decomposition temperature and easy degradation of chlorine-containing intermediate products is a feasible method to purify 24D WS. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Domain adaptation methods and appropriate feature extractors are usually applied to solve the problem that the variable working conditions of bearings affect the effectiveness of the fault diagnostic framework. However, the existing feature extractors are too complex to be deployed in real industries. In this paper, we propose a lightweight framework called improved depthwise separable convolution network (IDSCN) for the diagnosis of bearing faults in variable operating conditions. IDSCN is built on wavelet convolution and depthwise separable residual convolution (DSRC), where the wavelet convolution is used to extract frequency features from the source and target domains, and DSRC guarantees the performance of feature extraction with reduced parameters and computation. To minimise the distribution difference between the source and target domains, the local maximum mean difference is incorporated into the proposed framework. The performance of the proposed framework is validated on the Paderborn University dataset, involving a total of 6 transfer tasks. The experiment shows that the proposed framework achieves satisfactory results and outperforms other frameworks in bearing fault diagnosis.

The need for mechanical model simulation platforms is growing as a result of the ongoing advancements in digital technology and the mechanical manufacturing sector. The application scope and efficacy of simulation platforms are severely limited by the issue of sluggish rendering performance, which frequently arises when obtaining high-quality rendering. When drawing high demand mechanical models, a lot of processing power is frequently needed, which makes real-time rendering speed unsatisfactory for practical purposes. In order to achieve real-time rendering and simulation of 3D robots, this experiment built and implemented a WebGL-based 3D simulation platform. Additionally, the simulation platform can be optimized by increasing frame rate and rendering speed without sacrificing rendering effect by building a mixed bounding box. © The Author(s) 2025.
