Spectrum leasing has made more efficient utilization for the limited spectrum resource. While increasing the spectrum utilization, spectrum leasing also brings in some problem. Spectrum switch in the leasing process not only introduces in additional system overhead, but also decreases the secondary user's Qos. In this paper, we model the wireless system as a M/G/1 queue with preemptive priority, propose a new channel parameter to analyze the switch performance. Algorithms are suggested to reduce system overhead and to improve secondary user's Qos based on the new parameter.

In adaptive secondary user channel allocation of cognitive radio, some users finish communication and release their channel as the time goes by, while some newcomers request channel resources to communicate. Thus, it is necessary to consider spectrum allocation process from the temporal perspective. In this paper, secondary users are modeled to a dynamic game similar to the chain store game, by which each user is able to achieve the equilibrium state adaptively without a central coordinator. We investigate the game through analyzing of correlated equilibria, which is computed easily and exhibits better results than Nash equilibria. We import some signal mechanisms based on time and sequence number that help users to achieve the correlated equilibria. The game algorithms based on correlated equilibrium are presented. The experimental results shows that our method have obvious superiorities to other allocation algorithms.

Evolutionary programming algorithm is applied to the problem of image clustering. The solution of the problem is encoded by the symbol coding, and swarm intelligent model is used to search the solution of the problem. In evolutionary programming algorithm, the global search ability is effectively improved by mutation operator and selection operator. The excellent diversity of solutions is guaranteed by using Gaussian mutation operator, and the complexity of the evolutionary operation is reduced. The simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm for image clustering is effective and correct.

The power is the most significant resource in wireless sensor nodes, so energy conservation is the most important factor in designing the protocol for sensor networks. In this paper, we study the problem of energy-efficient collection of the physical information from the target area. The coverage-preserving data gathering (CPDG) problem is to build up a tree, which minimizes the total energy consumption, and preserves the original coverage to ensure the result correctness. This problem can be formalized as 0-1 integer linear programming, and solved by an efficient heuristic algorithm. Furthermore, an improved algorithm is also proposed to balance the energy consumption among all the sensor nodes. The experimental results show that CPDG algorithm can conserve the energy about 30% of PEDAP protocol, which is regarded as one of the most efficient data gathering protocols as we know.

Clustering problem is one of the hottest issues in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The strategy for selection of cluster head has not been sufficiently investigated. In this paper,we propose a hormone-based clustering algorithm (HCA) inspired by the communication mechanism of bioendocrine system to prolong the lifetime of the sensor nodes. Two kinds of hormones,cluster hormone and member hormone,are used in the algorithm. Hormone message can promote a node to become a cluster head or a member node. Comparative experiment shows that the proposed algorithm has effectively prolong the lifetime of WSN compared with LEACH[1] and HEED[2].
