Neural models produce promising results when solving Vehicle Routing Problems (VRPs), but may often fall short in generalization. Recent attempts to enhance model generalization often incur unnecessarily large training cost or cannot be directly applied to other models solving different VRP variants. To address these issues, we take a novel perspective on model architecture in this study. Specifically, we propose a plug-and-play Entropy-based Scaling Factor (ESF) and a Distribution-Specific (DS) decoder to enhance the size and distribution generalization, respectively. ESF adjusts the attention weight pattern of the model towards familiar ones discovered during training when solving VRPs of varying sizes. The DS decoder explicitly models VRPs of multiple training distribution patterns through multiple auxiliary light decoders, expanding the model representation space to encompass a broader range of distributional scenarios. We conduct extensive experiments on both synthetic and widely recognized real-world benchmarking datasets and compare the performance with seven baseline models. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of using ESF and DS decoder to obtain a more generalizable model and showcase their applicability to solve different VRP variants, i.e., travelling salesman problem and capacitated VRP. Notably, our proposed generic components require minimal computational resources, and can be effortlessly integrated into conventional generalization strategies to further elevate model generalization. SSBM: A Signed Stochastic Block Model for Multiple Structure Discovery in Large-Scale Exploratory Signed Networks

Signed network structure discovery has received extensive attention and has become a research focus in the field of network science. However, most of the existing studies are focused on the networks with a single structure, e.g., community or bipartite, while ignoring multiple structures, e.g., the coexistence of community and bipartite structures. Furthermore, existing studies were faced with challenge regarding large-scale signed networks due to their high time complexity, especially when determining the number of clusters in the observed network without any prior knowledge. In view of this, we propose a mathematically principled method for signed network multiple structure discovery named the Signed Stochastic Block Model (SSBM). The SSBM can capture the multiple structures contained in signed networks, e.g., community, bipartite, and coexistence of them, by adopting a probabilistic model. Moreover, by integrating the minimum message length (MML) criterion and component-wise EM (CEM) algorithm, a scalable learning algorithm that has the ability of model selection is proposed to handle large-scale signed networks. By comparing state-of-the-art methods on synthetic and realworld signed networks, extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of SSBM in discovering large-scale exploratory signed networks with multiple structures. Practical two-party privacy-preserving neural network based on secret sharing

Neural networks, with the capability to provide efficient predictive models, have been widely used in medical, financial, and other fields, bringing great convenience to our lives. However, the high accuracy of the model requires a large amount of data from multiple parties, raising public concerns about privacy. Privacy-preserving neural network based on multi-party computation is one of the current methods used to provide model training and inference under the premise of solving data privacy. In this study, we propose a new two-party privacy-preserving neural network training and inference framework in which privacy data is distributed to two non-colluding servers. We construct a preprocessing protocol for mask generation, support and realize secret sharing comparison on 2PC, and propose a new method to further reduce the communication rounds. Based on the comparison protocol, we construct building blocks such as division and exponential, and realize the process of training and inference that no longer needs to convert between different types of secret sharings and is entirely based on arithmetic secret sharing. Compared with the previous works, our work obtains higher accuracy, which is very close to that of plaintext training. While the accuracy has been improved, the runtime is reduced, considering the online phase, our work is 5× faster than SecureML, 4.32-5.75× faster than SecureNN, and is very close to the current optimal 3PC implementation, FALCON. For secure inference, as far as known knowledge is concerned, we should be the current optimal 2PC implementation, which is 4-358× faster than other works. © 2021, CC BY.

GPFedRec: Graph-Guided Personalization for Federated Recommendation

The federated recommendation system is an emerging AI service architecture that provides recommendation services in a privacy-preserving manner. Using user-relation graphs to enhance federated recommendations is a promising topic. However, it is still an open challenge to construct the user-relation graph while preserving data locality-based privacy protection in federated settings. Inspired by a simple motivation, similar users share a similar vision (embeddings) to the same item set, this paper proposes a novel Graph-guided Personalization for Federated Recommendation (GPFedRec). The proposed method constructs a user-relation graph from user-specific personalized item embeddings at the server without accessing the users' interaction records. The personalized item embedding is locally fine-tuned on each device, and then a user-relation graph will be constructed by measuring the similarity among client-specific item embeddings. Without accessing users' historical interactions, we embody the data locality-based privacy protection of vanilla federated learning. Furthermore, a graph-guided aggregation mechanism is designed to leverage the user-relation graph and federated optimization framework simultaneously. Extensive experiments on five benchmark datasets demonstrate GPFedRec's superior performance. The in-depth study validates that GPFedRec can generally improve existing federated recommendation methods as a plugin while keeping user privacy safe. Code is available to ease reproducibility. In the field of agriculture,variable-rate herbicide spraying(VRHS)technology has been used to solve the low efficiency of pesticides and crop chemical *** key of VRHS is the quick and precise identification of weeds from field images,which forms a weed *** search optimization(FSO)was able to simplify the threshold optimization process to create a weed map,which simulated the fluid flowing from high pressure to low pressure,but it is time consuming and often converges ***,an explosion mechanism and a twophase optimization were introduced to improve the FSO-based segmentation *** of segmentation weeds from a corn field at seedling growth stage showed that the IFSO algorithm obtained the best accuracy of 93.3%and the least running time of 0.019 s,compared with the standard PSO,GA,and FSO algorithms.

Deep learning methods have shown significant performance in medical image analysis tasks. However, they generally act like ”black box” without explanations in both feature extraction and decision processes, leading to lack of clinical insights and high risk assessments. To aid deep learning in envisioning diseases with visual clues, we propose Representation Group-Disentangling Network (RGD-Net), which can completely disentangle feature space of input X-ray images into several independent feature groups, each corresponding to a specific disease. Taking several semantically related and labeled X-ray images as input, RGD-Net firstly extracts completely group-disentangled representations of diseases through Group-Disentangle Module, which applies group-swap and linking operations to construct latent space by enforcing semantic consistency of attributes. To prevent learning degenerate representations defined as shortcut problem, we further introduce adversarial constricts on mapping from features to diseases, thus avoiding model collapse with former free-form disentanglement. Experiments on chestxray-14 and ChestXpert datasets demonstrate that RGD-Net are effective in predicting diseases with remarkable advantages, which leverage potential factors contributing to different diseases, thus enhancing interpretability in working patterns of deep learning methods.

Evolutionary generative adversarial networks with crossover based knowledge distillation

Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) is an adversarial model, and it has been demonstrated to be effective for various generative tasks. However, GAN and its variants also suffer from many training problems, such as mode collapse and gradient vanish. In this paper, we firstly propose a general crossover operator, which can be widely applied to GANs using evolutionary strategies. Then we design an evolutionary GAN framework named C-GAN based on it. And we combine the crossover operator with evolutionary generative adversarial networks (E-GAN) to implement the evolutionary generative adversarial networks with crossover (CE-GAN). Under the premise that a variety of loss functions are used as mutation operators to generate mutation individuals, we evaluate the generated samples and allow the mutation individuals to learn experiences from the output in a knowledge distillation manner, imitating the best output outcome, resulting in better offspring. Then, we greedily select the best offspring as parents for subsequent training using discriminator as an evaluator. Experiments on real datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of CE-GAN and show that our method is competitive in terms of generated images quality and time efficiency. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. With the continuous development of artificial intelligence technology and information technology, a large number of background data are constantly generated. How to obtain effective and useful data in a large and complex data group becomes important and meaningful. The traditional Bayesian network can represent the probability distribution of data variables from a large number of data based on graphical models. It has relatively clear and reliable reasoning ability and decision-making mechanism. However, the traditional Bayesian network structure has serious shortcomings in the recognition accuracy of corresponding key data, so the efficiency of the corresponding algorithm is seriously low. Based on this, this study adds an adaptive genetic algorithm with causality to the original Bayesian structure, so as to optimize the strategy of its structure operation, quantitatively describe the order of the corresponding data nodes, creatively arrange the corresponding data nodes in order by using the node priority, and initialize the initial architecture of Bayesian network based on this. Finally, the network is initialized through information exchange and data score correction, so as to get the final learning results. In this study, the convolution neural network algorithm in a database is verified in the experiment. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the experimental results given by the Bayesian network structure proposed in this study is about 10% higher than the traditional accuracy, and its corresponding learning results basically cover the important algorithms, hypotheses, and verification of convolution neural network, from this level;the algorithm proposed in this study has obvious advantages in bibliometrics. © 2022 Liwei Zhang et al.

Beam tracking is crucial for maintaining stable data transmission in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications. However, a communication link can be disrupted by frequent switching of narrow beams between a base station and a UAV at certain moments. In this study, we propose a position prediction-based beam tracking algorithm with adaptive beam reconstruction (PPBT-AR) for high-speed UAV. Specifically, long short-term memory (LSTM) recurrent neural networks are utilized to predict the nonlinear flight trajectory during high-speed flight. Moreover, we employ the generative diffusion model (GDM) to jointly optimize the beam width and signal strength, thereby reducing the number of beam switches. In addition, we design an adaptive beam reconstruction (ABR) mechanism to mitigate communication interruptions caused by prediction errors. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed PPBT-AR reduces the number of beam switches by 66.6% and 76.9% in low-speed and high-speed scenarios compared to the traditional phased array beam tracking algorithm, respectively. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

With the impressive achievements of chatGPT and Sora, generative artificial intelligence (GAI) has received increasing attention. Not limited to the field of content generation, GAI is also widely used to solve the problems in wireless communication scenarios due to its powerful learning and generalization capabilities. Therefore, we discuss key applications of GAI in improving unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication and networking performance in this article. Specifically, we first review the key technologies of GAI and the important roles of UAV networking. Then, we show how GAI can improve the communication, networking, and security performances of UAV systems. Subsequently, we propose a novel framework of GAI for advanced UAV networking, and then present a case study of UAV-enabled spectrum map estimation and transmission rate optimization based on the proposed framework to verify the effectiveness of GAI-enabled UAV systems. Finally, we discuss some important open directions. © 2024 IEEE.
