Aiming at the problem that the QR codes cannot be recognized due to factors such as motion blur caused by the hand tremor and environmental noise in the QR codes of the packaged product, this paper proposes an algorithm based on the Generative Adversative Network to remove QR codes motion blur. Compared with the traditional deblurring algorithm, this method eliminates the process of blur kernel estimation, directly restores the motion blurred image. Gradient L1 regularization is added on the basis of the traditional GAN, which enhances the edge features of the restored image and adds the perceptual loss term, so that the image generated by the generator is closer to the global structure of the target clear image. The results show that the generator can remove the blur and generate a QR code with high recognition rate.

Currently, security and quality of service (QoS) are critical for any network. The main purpose of security mechanisms is to provide identity authentication, protect information, and ensure that the received information is not tampered with; the aim of QoS is to provide better network communication services. Security and QoS are not independent of each other. The security mechanism affects QoS and vice versa. Both QoS and security pose resource management problems and are conflicting when resources are limited. QoS requires security mechanisms to ensure proper allocation and service cost, and an inappropriate security mechanism will reduce the performance of the communication quality. Currently, numerous real-time, big data, and diverse applications and services have emerged. Moreover, the number of potential threats is expected to increase dramatically. Therefore, combining QoS and security is important. However, as they are difficult to model owing to their internal conflict, QoS and security are normally separated or optimized at a particular point using game theory. From the perspective of resource allocation, this study uses optimization method and considers security and QoS resource optimization by dividing resources into two categories: space (bandwidth) and time (delay). In order to harmonize the QoS and security, in this paper, the two conflicting terms "communication" and "security" are considered as two individual aspect. Furthermore, we construct a model wherein the joint utility is maximized by controlling the packet length. We formulate the utility functions of these two aspects with respect to the effective throughput. The results show that the presented optimization method enables a mobile node to adaptively select specific packet length based on the optimum curve. Due to the development of computer vision, in recent years, augmented reality grows rapidly. A lot of augmented technologies have been applied in actual problems. At present, the industry of traditional marketing requires a lot of manpower, and the application of AR technology in marketing industry can greatly reduce industrial costs. In this paper, an Augmented Reality Marketing Application based on iOS platform is designed. Users can use this APP to scan physical stores signboards, which are saved previously, to trigger a 3D stereo model combined with the real world. At the same time, through the interaction with the model, users can get the business information and its sales activities, thus enhancing the consumer interest in the physical *** experiment results show this application work feasible and reliable. It is an attempt to integrate online and offline economy.

In recent years, the unlabeled augmented reality system has been gradually applied to various mobile devices, among which stable, accurate, and fast registration is the key to realizing this function. For this technique, this paper introduces camera exposure parameters and puts the data association and pose estimation into a unified nonlinear optimization problem. Moreover, the direct monocular vision odometer is transplanted into the augmented reality system through the position adjustment module. We compare it with the traditional visual odometry method that matches the feature points. The results show that this improved method can be used to track more quickly and build a more visual semi-dense point cloud map, which can be used to support the registration and tracking of virtual objects in augmented reality.

The evolutionary algorithm has become a major method for neural architecture search recently. However, the fixed probability distribution adopted by the traditional evolutionary algorithm makes the algorithm unable to control the increase or decrease of the individual architecture size and thus cannot guarantee the lightweight and inference efficiency of the candidate architecture. In addition, the existing approaches cannot learn the optimal sampling probability distribution relevant to the specific problem from the empirical information accumulated through the search process. What’s more, the algorithm needs to evaluate the performance of all the individual architectures, which requires huge computing resources and time overhead. To overcome these problems and challenges, an Efficient Self-learning Evolutionary Neural Architecture Search method, called ESE-NAS, is presented in this paper. Firstly, we propose a Model Size Control module, which generates the probability distribution for sampling the type of mutation operators according to the current model size, so as to control both the node number of network architecture and the sparsity of links, therefore ensuring that neural architectures can remain compact and efficient as they evolve. Thereafter, a Mutation Candidate Credit Assignment method is proposed, which enables the algorithm to dynamically adjust the probability distribution for available types of node operations and directed links according to the empirical information from individuals’ performance evaluation, which can guide the evolutionary direction of neural architecture and shorten the first hitting time of the optimal architecture. Finally, a neural architecture performance predictor is formulated, and the accuracy of each individual architecture is predicted by using the simplified input features, to further improve the efficiency of neural architecture search. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted mobile edge computing (MEC) is emerging as a promising paradigm to provide aerial-terrestrial computing services in close proximity to mobile devices (MDs). However, meeting the demands of computation-intensive and delay-sensitive tasks for MDs poses several challenges, including the demand-supply contradiction between MDs and MEC servers, the demand-supply heterogeneity between MDs and MEC servers, the trajectory control requirements on energy efficiency and timeliness, and the different time-scale dynamics of the network. To address these issues, we first present a hierarchical architecture by incorporating terrestrial-aerial computing capabilities and leveraging UAV flexibility. Furthermore, we formulate a joint computing resource allocation, computation offloading, and trajectory control problem to maximize the system utility. Since the problem is a non-convex and NP-hard mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP), we propose a two-timescale joint computing resource allocation, computation offloading, and trajectory control (TJCCT) approach for solving the problem. In the short timescale, we propose a price-incentive model for on-demand computing resource allocation and a matching mechanism-based method for computation offloading. In the long timescale, we propose a convex optimization-based method for UAV trajectory control. Besides, we theoretically prove the stability, optimality, and polynomial complexity of TJCCT. Extended simulation results demonstrate that the proposed TJCCT outperforms the comparative algorithms in terms of the system utility, average processing rate, average completion delay, and average completion ratio. In this paper, we design a hybrid (semi-direct) approach to simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) for monocular cameras and apply it to augmented reality (AR) for monocular cameras. We combine the advantagesof the direct method and the feature point method. We use both photometric bundle adjustment which is robust to camera exposure time and motion bundle adjustment which is geometrically robust based on feature points to do tracking process. This approach can maintain an intuitive direct local map as well as a reusable global sparse feature point map. Through the processing of point clouds, such as PCA plane detection and grid reconstruction, we greatly improve the effect of the augmented reality system.

This paper studies error formulas for Lagrange projectors determined by Cartesian sets. Cartesian sets are properly subgrids of tensor product grids. Given interpolated functions with all order continuous partial derivatives, the authors directly construct the good error formulas for Lagrange projectors determined by Cartesian sets. Owing to the special algebraic structure, such a good error formula is useful for error estimate.

Distributed deep learning frameworks train large deep leaning workload with multiple training jobs on shared distributed GPU servers. There are new challenges when scheduling resources for these systems. Modern deep learning training jobs tend to consume large amount of GPU memory. A training job has an iterative nature that causes the memory usage fluctuate overtime. Jobs sharing a host may suffer from significant performance degradation caused by memory overload in runtime. Moreover, even without memory overloads, deep learning training jobs still experience different levels of performance interference when sharing a GPU device. This paper studies these two issues. We introduced an opportunistic memory sharing model to allocate resources for training jobs with time-varying memory requirements. Based on this model, we introduced an opportunistic Job Placement Problem (OJPP) for shared GPU clusters that seeks job placement configurations using minimum number of GPU devices and guarantees user-defined performance requirements. We proposed a greedy algorithm and a heuristic algorithm with computational complexities of $O(n\log n)$ and $O(n^{2}\log n)$, respectively, to solve the problem. Extensive experiments are conducted using a GPU cluster to verify the correctness, effectiveness, and the scalability of our approaches. The proposed approach achieved over 80% percent of the standalone performance, in term of average job completion time, with less than 30% extra resources consumption.

Introduction: Activity cliff (AC) is a phenomenon that a pair of similar molecules differ by a small structural alternation but exhibit a large difference in their biochemical activities. This phenomenon affects various tasks ranging from virtual screening to lead optimization in drug development. The AC of small molecules has been extensively investigated but limited knowledge is accumulated about the AC phenomenon in pharmaceutical peptides with canonical amino acids. Objectives: This study introduces a quantitative definition and benchmarking framework AMPCliff for the AC phenomenon in antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) composed by canonical amino acids. Methods: This study establishes a benchmark dataset of paired AMPs in Staphylococcus aureus from the publicly available AMP dataset GRAMPA, and conducts a rigorous procedure to evaluate various AMP AC prediction models, including nine machine learning, four deep learning algorithms, four masked language models, and four generative language models. Results: A comprehensive analysis of the existing AMP dataset reveals a significant prevalence of AC within AMPs. AMPCliff quantifies the activities of AMPs by the metric minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), and defines 0.9 as the minimum threshold for the normalized BLOSUM62 similarity score between a pair of aligned peptides with at least two-fold MIC changes. Our analysis reveals that these models are capable of detecting AMP AC events and the pre-trained protein language model ESM2 demonstrates superior performance across the evaluations. The predictive performance of AMP activity cliffs remains to be further improved, considering that ESM2 with 33 layers only achieves the Spearman correlation coefficient 0.4669 for the regression task of the −log(MIC) values on the benchmark dataset.
