Join processing in wireless sensor networks is a challenging problem. Current solutions are not involved in the join operation among tuples of the latest sampling periods. In this article, we proposed a continuous Single attribute Join Queries within latest sampling Periods (SJQP) for wireless sensor networks. The main idea of our filter-based framework is to discard non-matching tuples, and our scheme can guarantee the result is correct independent of the filters. Experiments based on real-world sensor data show that our method performs close to a theoretical optimum and consistently outperforms the centralized join algorithm.

Abstraction is a pervasive behavior of people's perception, conceptualization and reasoning. The knowledge reformulation and abstraction model has been introduced to formalize the workflow abstraction modeling process which is an iterative learning process of "Perception-Abstraction". The concept of domain is introduced into the general knowledge reformulation and abstraction model to extensionally extend the reasoning ability. In this paper, we provide the process of multi-domain workflow abstraction modeling on the basis of the extended general knowledge reformulation and abstraction model. We think of the steps of the workflow as multi-domain tasks, i.e., they can play different roles in different workflows. By perceiving the tasks that work in multiple domains, we define the multi-domain tasks and through them build the multi-domain relations between different workflow, so that the multi-domain workflow perception is constructed which shows more reasoning perspectives than the single-domain workflow model.

To satisfy the requirements of real-time and high quality mosaics, a bionic compound eye visual system was designed by simulating the visual mechanism of a fly compound eye. Several CCD cameras were used in this system to imitate the small eyes of a compound eye. Based on the optical analysis of this system, a direct panoramic image mosaic algorithm was proposed. Several sub-images were collected by the bionic compound eye visual system, and then the system obtained the overlapping proportions of these sub-images and cut the overlap sections of the neighboring images. Thus, a panoramic image with a large field of view was directly mosaicked, which expanded the field and guaranteed the high resolution. The experimental results show that the time consumed by the direct mosaic algorithm is only 2.2% of that by the traditional image mosaic algorithm while guaranteeing mosaic quality. Furthermore, the proposed method effectively solved the problem of misalignment of the mosaic image and eliminated mosaic cracks as a result of the illumination factor and other factors. This method has better real-time properties compared to other methods.
