Feature Fusion Based Hand Gesture Recognition Method for Automotive Interfaces

Hand gesture recognition on the depth videos is a promising approach for automotive interfaces because it is less sensitive to light variation and more accurate than other traditional ***,video gestures recognition is still a challenging task since lots of interferences are induced by the uncorrelated gesture *** that if the displays are more relevant,the results will more accurate,so ResNext,a kind of compact and efficient neural network,is firstly used as feature extractor,then an improved weighted frame unification method is adopted to obtain the key frame samples,finally the Discriminant correlation analysis(DCA) is employed to fuse features for static data and dynamic data after conducting Feature embedding branch(FEB) on static *** public dataset named Depth based gesture recognition database(DGRD) is used in this paper,but the dataset is a little small and the class distribution is largely imbalance,and we find the performance of ResNext degrades badly in the condition of imbalance problem although it achieves excellent result at sufficient training *** order to conquer the disadvantages of limited dataset,a special loss function scheme combining the soft max loss and dice loss is *** of the algorithm performances in comparison with other state-of-the-art methods indicates that the proposed method is more practical for gesture recognition and may be widely adopted by automotive interfaces.

Independently keypoint Learning for Small Object Semantic Correspondence

Semantic correspondence remains a challenging task for establishing correspondences between a pair of images with the same category or similar scenes due to the large intra-class appearance. In this paper, we introduce a novel problem called’Small Object Semantic Correspondence (SOSC).’ This problem is challenging due to the close proximity of keypoints associated with small objects, which results in the fusion of these respective features. It is difficult to identify the corresponding key points of the fused features, and it is also difficult to be recognized. To address this challenge, we propose the keypoint Bounding box-centered Cropping (KBC) method, which aims to increase the spatial separation between keypoints of small objects, thereby facilitating independent learning of these keypoints. The KBC method is seamlessly integrated into our proposed inference pipeline and can be easily incorporated into other methodologies, resulting in significant performance enhancements. Additionally, we introduce a novel framework, named KBCNet, which serves as our baseline model. KBCNet comprises a Cross-Scale Feature Alignment (CSFA) module and an efficient 4D convolutional decoder. The CSFA module is designed to align multi-scale features, enriching keypoint representations by integrating fine-grained features and deep semantic features. Meanwhile, the 4D convolutional decoder, based on efficient 4D convolution, ensures efficiency and rapid convergence. To empirically validate the effectiveness of our proposed methodology, extensive experiments are conducted on three widely used benchmarks: PF-PASCAL, PF-WILLOW, and SPair-71k. Our KBC method demonstrates a substantial performance improvement of 7.5% on the SPair-71K dataset, providing compelling evidence of its efficacy. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the rapid development of wireless communication, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks have received extensive attention and been applied in many fields, but some challenges exist in their applications, such as the issue of security when implementing communication. In this paper, a virtual antenna array (VAA) is formed in multiple UAV units using collaborative beamforming (CB) technology. Under the interference of multiple eavesdroppers, secure communication with the ground base station (BS) is achieved. To achieve better performance, we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem for UAV network security communication (SCMOP), and jointly optimize the positions and excitation current weights of UAVs to set the null values in the direction of known eavesdroppers, reduce the sidelobe levels (SLLs) and enhance the directivity of the main lobe (ML). Since the formulated SCMOP is an NP-hard problem, we propose an improved the third non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (IMNSGA-III) with chaos operator and crossover and mutation operators to solve the problem in this paper. The simulation results show that the IMNSGA-III can solve the SCMOP well and obtain the best results compared with other benchmark algorithms.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted mobile edge computing (MEC) and data collection (DC) have been popular research issues. Different from existing works that consider MEC and DC scenarios separately, this paper investigates a multi-UAV-assisted joint MEC-DC system. Specifically, we formulate a joint optimization problem to minimize the MEC latency and maximize the collected data volume. This problem can be classified as a non-convex mixed integer programming problem that exhibits long-term optimization and dynamics. Thus, we propose a deep reinforcement learning-based approach that jointly optimizes the UAV movement, user transmit power, and user association in real time to solve the problem efficiently. Specifically, we reformulate the optimization problem into an action space-reduced Markov decision process (MDP) and optimize the user association by using a two-phase matching-based association (TMA) strategy. Subsequently, we propose a soft actor-critic (SAC)-based approach that integrates the proposed TMA strategy (SAC-TMA) to solve the formulated joint optimization problem collaboratively. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed SAC-TMA is able to coordinate the two subsystems and can effectively reduce the system latency and improve the data collection volume compared with other benchmark algorithms. A Lightweight Api Recommendation Method for App Development Based on Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm

Context: API is important in daily programming activities during app development, but finding appropriate APIs is time-consuming for developers. To simplify this process, many researchers pay attention to overcoming the task-API knowledge gap using semantic information mined from the large-scale dataset for API recommendation. However, only semantic information is not enough since API descriptions and developer's query may not share similar words, meanwhile, large-scale data mining brings huge time cost and causes knowledge fixed problem (i.e. data cannot be timely updated). This limits the efficiency of existing API commendation methods. Objective: In this work, we aim at proposing a lightweight API recommendation method for app development based on the data in app store. Method: We model API recommendation as a multi-objective optimization problem by considering both structural and semantic information of API, and use the genetic algorithm to gain optimal solutions for overcoming limitations of the small-scale dataset. Specially, we collect APK files of related apps and API descriptions to establish a lightweight dataset, and extract the structural and semantic information of API from them with graph embedding and NLP techniques respectively. Then, we get the recommended APIs satisfying structural and semantic objectives according to the developers’ target functionality with a genetic algorithm. Finally, we give the interpretation of our recommendation information to help developers understand the results easily. Results and Conclusion: We conduct a series of experiments based on apps in Google Play and Q&As in Stack Overflow. The results show that Precision@N of our recommendation can be up to 0.89, MAP@N is up to 0.50, and MRR reaches 0.69, and our method achieves such good performance only utilizing less than 1/19 of the project number of our compared machine learning method. Label-aware Multi-level Contrastive Learning for Cross-lingual Spoken Language Understanding

Despite the great success of spoken language understanding (SLU) in high-resource languages, it remains challenging in low-resource languages mainly due to the lack of labeled training data. The recent multilingual code-switching approach achieves better alignments of model representations across languages by constructing a mixed-language context in zero-shot cross-lingual SLU. However, current code-switching methods are limited to implicit alignment and disregard the inherent semantic structure in SLU, i.e., the hierarchical inclusion of utterances, slots, and words. In this paper, we propose to model the utterance-slot-word structure by a multi-level contrastive learning framework at the utterance, slot, and word levels to facilitate explicit alignment. Novel code-switching schemes are introduced to generate hard negative examples for our contrastive learning framework. Furthermore, we develop a label-aware joint model leveraging label semantics to enhance the implicit alignment and feed to contrastive learning. Our experimental results show that our proposed methods significantly improve the performance compared with the strong baselines on two zero-shot cross-lingual SLU benchmark datasets. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

Robustifying Vision Transformer for Image Forgery Localization with Multi-Exit Architectures

The proliferation of image manipulation tools has led to an increase in the number of manipulated images being disseminated online, posing risks like the propagation of fake news and telecom fraud. Thus, there is an increasing demand for precise, generic, and robust methods for detecting and locating manipulated images. In this paper, we propose a simple and clean model, named MEAFormer, for image forgery localization that does not heavily rely on pre-training models. MEAFormer comprises three main components: encoder network, neck network, and decoder network. Specifically, the transformer-based encoder network extracts hierarchical feature representations from the input image, providing rich contextual information in each layer. The neck network, incorporating our proposed cross-layer feature aggregation (CFA), aggregates these hierarchical features. To achieve better spatial feature co-occurrence, instead of using noise or edge artifacts, we introduce a multi-scale graph reasoning (MGR) module within the decoder network via bipartite graphs over the encoder and decoder features in a multi-scale fashion. The cross-level enhancement (CLE) further performs adjacent-level feature fusion to amplify the region-of-interests in aggregated manipulation features. Finally, the multi-exit architecture (MEA) guides the model to learn fine-grained features and segment out the manipulated region. Extensive experiments across diverse and challenging datasets conclusively establish MEAFormer’s superiority over existing state-of-the-art methods, excelling in accuracy, generalization, and robustness. © 2023, The Authors. In the modern digital landscape, integrating geographic locations and textual descriptions within a geo-textual dataset enhances location-based services (LBS) via spatial keyword queries, as these queries combine spatial and textual information to deliver more precise and personalized results. Additionally, the advent of cloud computing allows data owners to outsource data management and services to the cloud, boosting scalability but introducing efficiency challenges due to complex encryption. Although many schemes have been proposed for spatial keyword queries on encrypted geo-textual data, none supports matching a query keyword set with the keyword sets of multiple objects, a common query type in LBS. Imagine a user seeking to rent a house close to his/her workplace, with easy access to conveniences like supermarkets. By using nearby-fit spatial keyword queries, we can match the desired house with a house-type target object and its nearby amenities, offering more practical and flexible recommendations than traditional spatial keyword queries. Hence, in this paper, we introduce an efficient and privacy-preserving scheme called the Privacy-preserving Weighted Nearby-fit Spatial keyword (PWNSK) query scheme. First, we design a target-oriented spatial keyword (TOSK) tree for data organization and a TOSK tree based WNSK query algorithm for efficient pruning by simultaneously utilizing locations, keywords, and distances from nearby objects to target objects. For privacy, we develop several protocols, including one for polynomial coefficient re-encoding, based on polynomial coefficient encoding and fully homomorphic encryption. Building on these protocols, we introduce our PWNSK scheme. A thorough security analysis confirms its robustness, while extensive experiments also showcase its effectiveness. © 2014 IEEE.

As the mobile Internet grows rapidly, location-based services (LBSs) are widely applied in the tourism and transportation fields. To fully mine the data collected, location service providers (LSPs) intend to offer various query services to users, which include eclipse query. The eclipse query can generalize nearest neighbor queries and skyline queries and allow users to set more rough and customizable preference ranges. In addition, with the boom of cloud computing, more and more LSPs hope to leverage the cloud to offer better query services. Given that the data could potentially contain confidential information, the data are required to be encrypted prior to outsourcing them. Therefore, eclipse queries need to be executed on the ciphertext. Although several schemes for eclipse queries have been proposed in existing works, they have little focus on privacy issues. To address this issue, we propose an efficient and privacy-preserving scheme for eclipse queries (EPEQ) in this paper. First, we develop a MinValue tree to construct an index for the dataset. Then, by utilizing the MinValue tree and a symmetric homomorphic encryption technique, we design a secure minimum value comparison protocol to obtain a skyline data and a secure undominated data acquisition protocol to obtain the data not skyline dominated by the skyline data. After that, we present our scheme. We analyze the security of the EPEQ scheme and perform experimental evaluations, demonstrating the security and efficiency of our EPEQ scheme.

Dual Personalization on Federated Recommendation

Federated recommendation is a new Internet service architecture that aims to provide privacy-preserving recommendation services in federated settings. Existing solutions are used to combine distributed recommendation algorithms and privacy-preserving mechanisms. Thus it inherently takes the form of heavyweight models at the server and hinders the deployment of on-device intelligent models to end-users. This paper proposes a novel Personalized Federated Recommendation (PFedRec) framework to learn many user-specific lightweight models to be deployed on smart devices rather than a heavyweight model on a server. Moreover, we propose a new dual personalization mechanism to effectively learn fine-grained personalization on both users and items. The overall learning process is formulated into a unified federated optimization framework. Specifically, unlike previous methods that share exactly the same item embeddings across users in a federated system, dual personalization allows mild finetuning of item embeddings for each user to generate user-specific views for item representations which can be integrated into existing federated recommendation methods to gain improvements immediately. Experiments on multiple benchmark datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of PFedRec and the dual personalization mechanism. Moreover, we provide visualizations and in-depth analysis of the personalization techniques in item embedding, which shed novel insights on the design of recommender systems in federated settings.
