This paper takes the dual water jet propulsion USV as the research object, and studies formation obstacle avoidance optimization problem. An integrative APF algorithm is proposed to merge path planning and trajectory tracking into one optimization problem, where adaptive searching step is adopted to guarantee that the planned trajectory is reachable. In addition, a distance-triggered codesign of integrative APF and MPC is presented to maintain formation during the obstacle avoidance process. Finally, the results in MATLAB simulation demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

In the realm of linear regression, the concept of utilizing relaxed regression targets for classification has shown considerable success. However, it suffers from a lack of strong discriminative ability. In this study, we build upon the theory of relaxed regression targets and propose a more concise and discriminative model for multi-class classification. Our approach introduces the £2,1-norm regularized term to enhance the efficacy and compactness of the learned projection matrix. This regularization term not only generates a sparse row structure but also facilitates feature selection during the training phase. Consequently, both the accuracy of classification and the convergence speed of the model are improved. Furthermore, when compared to various variants of the linear regression model, our designed method exhibits superior performance in image classification. Through extensive experiments conducted on image databases, we provide evidence that our proposed approach excels in recognition capability, surpassing the performance of state-of-The-Art methods in terms of classification accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a bearing-based containment control problem of multi-agent systems with disturbances is studied. The nonlinearity of the bearing results in the existence of nonlinear time-varying parameters in the closed-loop system. When the leaders are stationary, under the sufficient conditions on the disturbances and the connectivity of the directed sensing graph, the boundedness of the nonlinear time-varying parameters is rigorously proved, with which it is shown that the containment error converges to zero asymptotically. When the leaders are moving, by using the properties of the bearing and the projection, it is proved that the containment error is uniformly ultimately bounded and can be reduced by adjusting the edge weight. Numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

As very important controllers in automated factories, the correctness and safety of Programmable Logic controller (PLC) and their programs determine the stability of the production process. Structured Text (ST) is one of the most widely used PLC programming languages. However, there are not enough formal semantics and different venders may have their own implementations. In this work, a visual executable semantic model ST-Petri for ST has been proposed. The model uses Petri nets to formally represent ST semantics while using graphs to visualise program control flow. To validate the correctness of the semantic model, we use programs from Github and mutations of existing source programs as a test set to execute and compare the results with the open source OpenPLC platform. Experimental results show that ST-Petri has significant advantages in terms of compilation pass rate and error indication as a semantic model and a ST program compiler. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper addresses the problem of the design of controller for fuzzy semi-Markov jump systems with hidden modes against the incomplete information on probability density functions of sojourn time. Two ubiquitous circumstances in practice are taken into account, which are often ignored in other related work:(1) the phenomenon that system modes cannot be accessed entirely is considered proactively;(2) finitely accessible information on probability density functions is studied in this paper. By virtue of hidden semi-Markov chain, the underlying systems are modeled as hidden semi-Markov jump systems, which are more general than semi-Markov jump systems. Sufficient conditions on the existence of desired accessible-mode-dependent fuzzy controller are derived such that the fuzzy hidden semi-Markov jump systems is mean square stable. Based on the emission probability matrix, the presented control policy overcomes the possible mode-mismatch between the system mode and the accessible ***, an example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

Both coordination, a behavioral pattern where individuals adopt the same behavior as the majority, and anticoordination, a behavioral pattern where individuals choose a behavior different from the majority, are prevalent in social and engineering scenarios. Examples include the spread of social norms or innovations for coordination and the division of labor and traffic congestion for anti-coordination. Exploring the large-scale interacting systems driven by coordination and anticoordination is of great significance in understanding, predicting, and optimizing the evolutionary outcomes. While existing studies have primarily focused on analyzing the convergence of networked systems and evaluating the time to reach equilibrium, our investigation delves into all possible states of a networked system and scrutinizes all equilibrium states. Notably, we observe that the number of equilibrium states increases exponentially with the network size. Accounting for network structure properties, homogeneous networks exhibit more equilibrium states than heterogeneous networks. Furthermore, for specific behavioral switching thresholds, the number of equilibrium states is surprisingly higher than at neighboring switching thresholds. Our work reveals the intricate interplay between evolutionary dynamics, system structure, and behavioral switching thresholds. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

We propose a framework for designing an effectiveness assessment indicator system for command and control systems. This framework encompasses three key parts: the design of task element flowcharts, iterative optimization of indicators, and check of indicator completeness. Introducing the task element flowcharts and the physical mapping of indicators, a dual-layer iterative optimization guiding approach to indicator system design is provided. This method mitigates the complexity associated with indicator system design, enhancing design efficiency. The indicator system built using this approach shows advantages of non-redundancy, non-repetition, quantifiability, and high completeness. Concurrently, comparing supporting data leads to construct a high-trust assessment algorithm and generate the scientifically comprehensive data collection requirements. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper investigates the problems of H8 consensus control for high-order fully actuated multi-agent systems (HOFAMASs) with external disturbances. By utilizing the characteristics of high-order fully actuated systems (HOFASs), the distributed control protocols are designed, eliminating all nonlinear characteristics of open loop systems while establishing new closed-loop dynamic characteristics. Then, the H8 consensus problems of HOFAMASs are addressed. The corresponding parameters to be designed in the distributed control protocols are given by using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A novel multi-spacecraft attitude model is proposed based on HOFASs. An illustrative example of the multi-spacecraft attitude model is given, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness and application of the results proposed in this paper. © 2024 IEEE.

In industrial sites, multiple real-time control systems often share computing resources. However, burst computing tasks may lead to the random dropping of control computing subtasks, resulting in control failures and potential hazards. To address this issue, we propose an energy-efficient safety-aware task scheduling scheme based on mixed-integer programming. When burst computing tasks are triggered, this scheduling scheme adaptively releases resources from low-criticality control computing subtasks and adjusts the processor speed based on the dynamic voltage and frequency scaling technology (DVFS), ensuring the timely completion of burst computing tasks and keeping the control system state deviation within a safe threshold. To achieve the scheduling scheme, we propose an efficient algorithm called EESASA. Simulation results show that EESASA can minimize the overall cost of control and processor energy while ensuring the safety of the control system and the timely completion of burst computing tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to mitigate the adverse impact of denial of service (DoS) attacks, this work designs a parameter self-tuning controller based on fuzzy rules for vehicle platoons with vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications. Aiming at achieving the cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) of the vehicles with a required inter-vehicle distance and the same velocity, while considering the possible DoS attacks, we propose a parameter self-tuning longitudinal controller combining linear control and fuzzy control to enhance the stability and resilience of the platoon systems. Firstly, by analyzing the dynamic characteristics of vehicles and the mechanism of DoS attacks, we establish the dynamic model of vehicle platoons and model the impact of random DoS attacks as a constant data transmission delay, whose probability distribution can be defined using the Bernoulli random variable. Then, a linear controller based on fuzzy control is designed for longitudinal control to guarantee that the platoon keeps a reference velocity and the specified inter-vehicle distance under DoS attacks. Finally, thorough simulations are performed and the detailed results show the performance of the secure longitudinal control scheme for vehicle platoons in terms of stability and security. © 2023 IEEE.
