In coking process, the production quality, equipment life, energy consumption, and process safety are all influenced by the pressure in gas collector pipe of coke oven, which is frequently influenced by *** main control objectives for the gas collector pressure system are keeping the pressures in collector pipes at appropriate operating point. In this paper, model predictive control(MPC) strategy is introduced to control the collector pressure system due to its ability to handle constraint and good control performance. Based on a method proposed to simplify the system model, an extended state space model predictive control is designed,which combines the feedforward strategy to eliminate the disturbance. The simulation results in a system with two coke ovens show the feasibility and effectiveness of the control scheme.

The upconversion energy transfer mechanism in Tb3+-Yb3+ co-doped SiO2-Al2O3-CaF2 glass is investigated by time-resolved spectra. The effect of donor ion Yb3+ is involved in the dynamic decay behavior of acceptor ion Tb3+, which provides direct proof for the energy transfer from Yb3+ to Tb3+. The pump power dependence curves show that the upconversion luminescence is a two-photon process. The measured decay curves of the 5D4 state (Tb3+) contain two parts: a slow decay process corresponding to its radiation, and a fast one with a decay parameter approximately twice the lifetime of the 2F5/2 state (Yb3+). The fast decay process is contradictory to the generally accepted cooperative sensitization upconversion rate equation model. Since the effect of the host environmental is excluded by comparative experiments, we believe that there should be another energy transfer mechanism in Tb3+-Yb3+ co-doped SiO2-Al2O3-CaF2 glass in addition to the cooperative sensitization process.

Fractional order proportional-integral-derivative (FOPID) controller generalizes the standard PID controller. Compared to PID controller, FOPID controller has more parameters and the tuning of parameters is more complex. In this paper, an improved artificial bee colony algorithm, which combines cyclic exchange neighborhood with chaos (CNC-ABC), is proposed for the sake of tuning the parameters of FOPID controller. The characteristic of the proposed CNC-ABC exists in two folds: one is that it enlarges the search scope of the solution by utilizing cyclic exchange neighborhood techniques, speeds up the convergence of artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC). The other is that it has potential to get out of local optima by exploiting the ergodicity of chaos. The proposed CNC-ABC algorithm is used to optimize the parameters of the FOPID controller for an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) system. Numerical simulations show that the CNC-ABC FOPID controller has better performance than other FOPID and PID controllers.

In order to further improve the overall disturbance rejection response when both input and output disturbances are taken into account, we present a design method based on the disturbance observer (DOB) control structure. In this paper, optimal analytical DOB design is provided under the combined 2-norm objective. Results show that the proposed observer can optimally eliminate the input/output disturbance with the best combined performance criterion.
