To found the suitable models to describe the behavior of biochemistry systems, the dynamic epsiv-SVM method was proposed on the basis of SVM. Each training sample uses different error. The existed methods for selecting the parameters of SVM not only consume time, but also are difficult to find the optimal parameters. The optimal parameters were automatically decided by using multi-object genetic algorithm (MOGA). A new modeling method that combined MOGA with the dynamic epsiv-SVM was presented. The model for penicillin titer pre-estimate was developed by it in Matlab 6.5 with data collected from real plant. The model possesses the strong capability of fitting and generalization. Experiments show that the dynamic epsiv-SVM is superior to the standard SVM modeling method. MOGA is very feasible and efficient too

In this paper, a quantum reinforcement learning method is proposed for repeated game theory. First, the quantum reinforcement learning algorithm is introduced based on quantum state superposition principle and its superiority is analyzed. Then, it is applied to repeated games and the experiments show its effectiveness. Related issues are also discussed before the conclusion is given

On the basis of the standard SVM for regression, the dynamic Ε-SVM method was proposed to establish precise mathematical models to describe the behavior of biochemistry systems, namely each training sample used different error. At the same time, an improved multi-objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) was used to automatically select the dynamic Ε-SVM parameters. A new modeling method that combined improved MOGA with dynamic Ε-SVM regression was presented. The model for titer pre-estimate was developed in Matlab6.5 with data collected from real plant. The model possessed the strong capability of fitting and generalization. It is shown that the method achieves significant improvement in the generalization performance in comparison with the modeling method based on MOGA and the standard SVM.

Low frequency oscillations in the interconnected power systems are observed all around the world. Besides conventional PSS to suppress Low frequency oscillation, there are other modern FACTS devices to damp oscillation, among which flywheel energy storage system (FESS) is a comparative valid way. The theory on restraining low frequency oscillation used by flywheel energy storage system is described through transfer function diagram and complex torque coefficient. A numerical model of flywheel energy storage asynchronous motor controlled by VVVF inverter is derived from its mathematical model in alpha-beta coordinate system. Then the total model eigenvalue is analyzed. Based on analysis, attach control strategy using two parallel independent parts for active power control and reactive power control is designed in FESS to restrain low frequency oscillation. The calculation result shows that flywheel energy storage system is an effective way to restrain low frequency oscillation and enhance power system dynamic performance.

A synthetical method of multivariable control system performance assessment is proposed in this paper, which uses multivariable minimum variance control (MVC) benchmark to determine the stochastic performance, and normalized multivariate impulse response (NMIR) curve as an alternative measure of performance to test the dynamic performance, and with the help of auto-correlation function (ACF) and cross-correlation function (CCF) to analyse if there are oscillations exist. The method is applied to assess the performance of multivariable predictive control system of industrial distillation column.

Unlike steady-state optimization and linear model predictive control, dynamic optimization and nonlinear model predictive control is underway to industry application. This paper discusses the implementation issues of two-level control strategy integrated dynamic real-time optimization and nonlinear model predictive control of a heat-integrated distillation column system. To realize this scheme, four nonlinear programming problems: economic operation optimization, data reconciliation and state estimation, parameter estimation and nonlinear model predictive control, are considered based on system rigorous dynamic model. The economic operation optimization is to minimize the cost of the plant. The unmeasured states are estimated by measurements of temperatures, pressures and flow rates. Time-variant parameters such as tray efficiencies and feed composition are updated on-line. The sequential quadratic programming and orthogonal collocation are used to solve the dynamic nonlinear optimization problems.

In chemical process industry, some variables are difficult to measure on-line due to the limitation of measurement techniques, reliability or high cost to install a hard sensor. Some measurable variables, such as product quality, cannot be used for real-time optimization and control due to the large time delay. The soft-sensing of these variables is considered as an efficient method, and remains as an open problem. A new soft sensor system is developed to solve these problems in this work, which is based on rigorous model by using dynamic optimization to minimize the bias square between the model outputs and the measured outputs. Compared with other soft sensor systems, the proposed soft sensor system accurately employs the nonlinear model and considers the constraints in the optimization. It not only is more efficient in economic but also can be used on-line for real-time optimisation and control. The soft sensor system is successfully applied to estimation of the feed composition of a pilot heat-integrated distillation column system.

In the literature, linear algebraic approaches are always attractive and important tools for solving the supervisory control problem of discrete event systems (DES) modeled by Petri nets with linear inequation constraints. Especially, linear integer programming (LIP) is an efficient technique for the on-line computation of the control policy when the maximal uncontrollable subnet is loop-free. However, if there are some loops in the maximal uncontrollable subnet, the computational difficulty of nonlinear integer programming (NIP) is a great obstacle to the online computation of the control policy. The paper proposes an extension of the LIP method (ELIP) to deal with the problem of NIP. The main idea is to decompose the maximal uncontrollable subnet into two small uncontrollable subnets, i.e. loop-free subnet and loop-in subnet. Because the loop-free subnet can be solved by LIP and reachability analysis can be used for the loop-in subnet, NIP is avoided for online computing the control policy. The technique of optimal decomposition is also presented in the paper.

TheAsiainformationRetrievalSymposium(AIRS)wasestablishedbytheAsian information retrieval community after the successful series of information - trieval with Asian Languages (IRAL) workshops held in six di?erent locations in Asia, starting from 1996. While the IRAL workshops had their focus on inf- mation retrieval problems involving Asian languages, AIRS covers a wider scope of applications, systems, technologies and theory aspects of information retrieval in text, audio, image, video and multimedia data. This extension of the scope re?ects and fosters increasing research activities in information retrieval in this region and the growing need for collaborations across subdisciplines. We are very pleased to report that we saw a sharp increase in the number of submissions and their quality, compared to the IRAL workshops. We received 106papersfromninecountriesinAsiaandNorthAmerica,fromwhich28papers (26%) were presented in oral sessions and 38 papers in poster sessions (36%). It was a great challenge for the Program Committee to select the best among the excellent papers. The low acceptance rates witness the success of this year’s conference. After a long discussion between the AIRS 2004 Steering Committee and Springer, the publisher agreed to publish our proceedings in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series, which is SCI-indexed. We feel that this strongly attests to the excellent quality of the papers.
