ColorDynamic: Generalizable, Scalable, Real-time, End-to-end Local Planner for Unstructured and Dynamic Environments

Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) has demonstrated potential in addressing robotic local planning problems, yet its efficacy remains constrained in highly unstructured and dynamic environments. To address these challenges, this study proposes the ColorDynamic framework. First, an end-to-end DRL formulation is established, which maps raw sensor data directly to control commands, thereby ensuring compatibility with unstructured environments. Under this formulation, a novel network, Transqer, is introduced. The Transqer enables online DRL learning from temporal transitions, substantially enhancing decision-making in dynamic scenarios. To facilitate scalable training of Transqer with diverse data, an efficient simulation platform E-Sparrow, along with a data augmentation technique leveraging symmetric invariance, are developed. Comparative evaluations against state-of-the-art methods, alongside assessments of generalizability, scalability, and real-time performance, were conducted to validate the effectiveness of ColorDynamic. Results indicate that our approach achieves a success rate exceeding 90% while exhibiting real-time capacity (1.2–1.3 ms per planning). Additionally, ablation studies were performed to corroborate the contributions of individual components. Building on this, the OkayPlan-ColorDynamic (OPCD) navigation system is presented, with simulated and real-world experiments demonstrating its superiority and applicability in complex scenarios. It is necessary to regularly detect faults to maintain the safety and stability of power lines. Insulators are one of the important electrical components in high-voltage transmission lines. It is extremely necessary to check the working status of insulators regularly. Traditional manual inspection is inefficient because it requires a significant amount of labor costs. In this paper, a method for detecting insulators' missing defect based on aerial images is proposed to address the issue by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Firstly, the improved Faster R-CNN (region-based convolutional neural network) is used to identify and locate insulators in aerial images. Secondly, the U-Net image segmentation network segments insulators from the images. The adaptive threshold segmentation method completely separates the insulator from the background. Then the binary image of the insulator is obtained. Finally, the binary image is converted into a fault curve which is used for determining the missing insulators based on the distribution of the fault curve. By using collected insulator datasets on a 330kV overhead transmission line using a DJI M300 UAV platform and an onboard H20T camera/sensor, the detection accuracy of glass insulators is as high as 0.98 with the proposed algorithm. The positioning accuracy of the proposed algorithm is also higher than other algorithms. This method has high detection accuracy for missing defects in insulators. The experimental results show that compared with similar algorithms, this method has higher accuracy and efficiency.

This paper takes the dual water jet propulsion USV as the research object, and studies formation obstacle avoidance optimization problem. An integrative APF algorithm is proposed to merge path planning and trajectory tracking into one optimization problem, where adaptive searching step is adopted to guarantee that the planned trajectory is reachable. In addition, a distance-triggered codesign of integrative APF and MPC is presented to maintain formation during the obstacle avoidance process. Finally, the results in MATLAB simulation demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the algorithm.

To address shortcomings of ICP algorithm, which is sensitive to the initial position and easy to fall into local optimum, we propose a Harris Hawks Optimizer (HHO) point cloud registration method combining PCA preprocessing and parallel population initialization. The PCA method is used to align the point clouds with the main axes and perform the main axes correction. Since the six input variables in the population initialization stage of HHO point cloud registration are different and independent, the initial population of HHO algorithm is initialized by the parallel initialization method. The results show that the improved algorithm is able to successfully overwhelm the fault of ICP algorithm, and its global seek performance and optimization accuracy are more advantageous, and the algorithm operates efficiently, with high registration accuracy and robustness. © 2021 IEEE

Flight trajectory consistence is an important factor influencing mission performance and ***,the lack of in-situ flight dynamics with high fidelity remains a challenge to enhance stability and controllability for aircraft maneuver in space,because modeling and coding of predictive system response in control synthesis is difficult to be mathematically formulated and computationally *** we generalize the invariant tensor modeling of flight dynamics so that its functional matrix coding is adapted to the multivariable nonlinear control of aircraft with augmented stability and controllability;and we verify that the nonlinear functional parameters in control synthesis with unobservable external forces and moments can improve the consistence of flight *** demonstrate that the planned flight trajectory can be consistently fulfilled using the nonlinear control synthesized through tensor modeling and matrix *** conclusion,invariant tensor modeling facilitates the functional matrix coding of flight dynamics with six degrees of freedom,which can be applied to build the feedback through dimensional analysis for augmented stability and controllability,such that collaborative optimization of nonlinear functional parameters establishes the multivariable nonlinear control to improve the consistence of flight trajectory for sustained performance and continuing safety.

Online monitoring aims to evaluate or to predict, at runtime, whether or not the behaviors of a system satisfy some desired specification. It plays a key role in safety-critical cyber-physical systems. In this work, we propose a new model-based approach for online monitoring for specifications described by Signal Temporal Logic (STL) formulae. Specifically, we assume that the observed state traces are generated by an underlying dynamic system whose model is known. The main idea is to consider the dynamic of the system when evaluating the satisfaction of the STL formulae. To this end, effective approaches for the computation of feasible sets for STL formulae are provided. We show that, by explicitly utilizing the model information of the dynamic system, the proposed online monitoring algorithm can falsify or certify of the specification in advance compared with existing algorithms, where no model information is used. We also demonstrate the proposed monitoring algorithm by case studies.

Although point cloud registration has achieved remarkable advances in object-level and indoor scenes, large-scale registration methods are rarely explored. Challenges mainly arise from the huge point number, complex distribution, and outliers of outdoor LiDAR scans. In addition, most existing registration works generally adopt a two-stage paradigm: They first find correspondences by extracting discriminative local features and then leverage estimators (eg. RANSAC) to filter outliers, which are highly dependent on well-designed descriptors and post-processing choices. To address these problems, we propose an end-to-end transformer network (RegFormer) for large-scale point cloud alignment without any further post-processing. Specifically, a projection-aware hierarchical transformer is proposed to capture long-range dependencies and filter outliers by extracting point features globally. Our transformer has linear complexity, which guarantees high efficiency even for large-scale scenes. Furthermore, to effectively reduce mismatches, a bijective association transformer is designed for regressing the initial transformation. Extensive experiments on KITTI and NuScenes datasets demonstrate that our RegFormer achieves competitive performance in terms of both accuracy and efficiency. Heuristic Learning for Co-Design Scheme of Optimal Sequential Attack

This paper considers a novel co-design problem of the optimal sequential attack, whose attack strategy changes with the time series, and in which the sequential attack selection strategy and sequential attack signal are simultaneously designed. Different from the existing attack design works that separately focus on attack subsets or attack signals, the joint design of the attack strategy poses a huge challenge due to the deep coupling relation between the sequential attack selection strategy and sequential attack signal. In this manuscript, we decompose the sequential co-design problem into two equivalent sub-problems. Specifically, we first derive an analytical closed-form expression between the optimal attack signal and the sequential attack selection strategy. Furthermore, we prove the finite-time inverse convergence of the critical parameters in the injected optimal attack signal by discrete-time Lyapunov analysis, which enables the efficient off-line design of the attack signal and saves computing resources. Finally, we exploit its relationship to design a heuristic two-stage learning-based joint attack algorithm (HTL-JA), which can accelerate realization of the attack target compared to the one-stage proximal-policy-optimization-based (PPO) algorithm. In this paper,the entrapping control problem of discrete-time AUVs with local coordinate frames is *** achieve entrapment in arbitrarily shaped orbits and formations,we design a bearingbased leader-following framework fully in the discrete-time domain with four parts:the orientation estimation unit,estimator unit,controller unit and parameters tuning *** bearing measurements and communication information,the orientation estimation unit can estimate orientations of local coordinate frames infinite time,and the estimator unit can achieve local *** on estimation,the controller unit can drive each AUV to track the desired orbit or formation with an arbitrary *** present su±cient conditions under which stability of the overall system is proved using the theorem offinite-time stability and LaSalle's theorem for the discrete-time ***,the parameters tuning unit can calculate optimal parameters to improve overall ***,we extend our schemes to nonholonomic AUVs with unicycle ***,simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
